Films I have seen (or tried) over the last few weeks

Watchmen - garbage, managed about 30 mins before forwarding it right to the end. Glad I didnt bother sitting through that

Dinner for Schmucks - This was okay, Steve Carell was brilliant as he usually is BUT the film could have been better overall

The Other Guys - Loved it, big fan of Will Ferrell, wasnt quite his usual self BUT still was awesome. Wahlberg also did well

Devil - This was a good film, I enjoyed it. Certainly worth a watch as it always keeps you guessing

The Infidel - Decent, was expecting it to be a lot better BUT still worth a watch. It came out around the same time as Four Lions so comparions with that are inevitable, it does not come close to that

The Bad Lieutenant - rubbish

Brooklyn's Finest - meh

The Fighter

Really nice movie, some great performances. Especially by Christian Bale, who was superb. Pulled off the Lowell accent to near perfection, amazing stuff for a British actor.

Fighter was a GREAT movie. Had no expectations for when I saw it and was genuinely "wowed."

Not as bad as people made out. Story was pretty interesting (Euthanasia) but the way the director shot the film with dark colors etc ruined it. Roshan was amazing, one of the best acting performances ive seen both hollywood and bollywood.

Not sure about that, I though it was pretty decent. Reviews were universally decent as well..

perhaps you don't like the grimmier films, like Sin City, Punisher etc?

Nah its not that, I actually liked sin city, I haven't seen the punisher yet

I just found watchmen very boring

Probably the most boring movie I have watched.

the pace of the movie wasn't the problem, the story was left incomplete and there were too many loose ends.

Honestly, not a very bad movie! Starting is okayish, and it does lag until the intermission. After that it really picks up and in the end you are walking out the hall smiling.

Nothing extraordinary but not a waste of time like Tees Maar Khan either (I think its MILES ahead of TMK)

Occupation 101 - Powerful documentry on the Palestinian - Israeli conflict.

Very informative but depressing too, also showcases the involvement of US.
 
'Yamla Pagla Deewaana'

Not a great film but miles ahead in terms of comedy compared to 'Tees Maar Khan', 'Golmaal 3' or 'No Problem'. You would enjoy watching this film:19:. The Punjabis make you laugh all time:))!

Not many at the moment tbh.
You should watch Kick-Ass or Hot Tub Time Machine (both not really 'new')
Hangover is one of the best comedies of all time, so if you haven't seen it yet, I'd recommended it to you.

Decent film and you can actually enjoy it with the family without blushing.

Yeah, really enjoyed that movie. Kick ass was over rated and didn't like Hot Tub Time Machine.

If you guys like Hangover you should watch Due Date.

I found that very funny, and good story as well.
 
Watched "Frozen" and "Buried" this past weekend. Decent movies. A bit scary but realistic which is how I like the scary movies I watch.

Is this available on DVD? You might also want to watch Taxi To The Dark Side..harrowing documentary about an Afghan taxi driver captured and tortured to death by US forces.

I'm not sure as i downloaded it :98:

I got a few others too, one is "The Battle for Palestine" and "Jenin Jenin" both very powerful and depressing considering the Palestinian plight.

Thanks for your recommendation...i will be checking that sometime.

'Phas Gaya Re Obama' 2010

A great comedy film:))!!! Hundred times better than the likes of 'Peepli Live' or 'Tere Bin Laden'. The idea was a very unique one:14:!
 
Book of Eli - Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman... hmmm, dunno quite how to judge it... wasn't bad, but was it the best 2 hours I've ever spent??..

Yes, it recieved mixed reviews reviews and as a comparison it is inferior but i really enjoyed it.

They don't make these kind of movies anywhere else.

Again, not for the squeamish.

Really? Very surprised RX. Different tastes, etc. Have heard people raving about Twelve Monkeys - only watched it the once - can't say I am a fan of the film.
 
I don't get what the fuss about Leon is either. I mean it was a good movie, but it's rated as #34 on IMDB's top 250 of all time. I didn't find it THAT good. I can see why someone expecting something worthy of a #34 before watching the film would be disappointed afterwards. I know I was.

Yeah there are a few movies which are meant to be 'great' which I don't like, and others which are meant to be quite awful which I do!

Like you said, different tastes.
 
i spit on your grave! real gory film! the eye lid scene had my eyes wattery! but the guys in the film deserved it

'No One Killed Jessica' 2011

A very, very good film based upon reality. Whatever rating it deserves, it should get one mark/point less for the strong language that was reasonlessly spoken by Rani Mukherjee. Definitely not a family film.
 
^^ the language used was unnecessary and had nothing to do with story! i guess they just wanted to show how delhi has changed and women also use this kind of language! i recently visited delhi after 5 years and yes the changes are there and women, well let me say people in general have become more aggressive ( or may be i have become softer living in europe )

The cop was biggest Ä$$höle! i could have understood the other guys doing the crime! but the cop had a family and lil kid, how could he have done such a thing??? Well what happ to him was awsome!

The original or the new one? After watching it, will you have you seen both to make a comparison? Reason I ask is that the new one has received a lot of praise, but also been slated by some.

Would be interesting to read your opinion.
 
^^ already seen it was nice and energetic....love the dilli ki feeling in the movie and songs are awsome!

the new one from coen brothers! got nominated for 9 oscars i think! i certainly have'nt seen the old one but i might :)
