Just watched "the man from no where'. Absolutely brilliant, dont get these kind of movies from mainstream hollywood. Will see these aswell. Hearing good things about Lady Vengeance, the info seems so interesting (And seems like the show Dexter stole the starting scene from that movie :) )

P.S ill highly recommend the movie 'Equilibrium' starring Christian Bale. One of My favorite movie, and its before the time when Bale got all Hollywood :).

And a special mention of my favorite story line of all, if you guys are in to it. 'Cowboy Bebop', 26 episode anime, and the inspiration for my avatar. Hands down the best story line ive seen. Advise, you have to be little patient for the story to develop, but you will not be disappointed.

Anyways these are just the movies i was looking for, thanks a bunch.:akhtar

Lady vengeance is good but check out sympathy for mr vengeance - even better

The three (including oldboy) are a brilliant trilogy of films by park wan-chook

Oceans 13

Good movie. Had to watch as I watched 11 and 12 also ........

This was better than 12 , but sad thing is that it was last of the series , no more oceans

7/ 10

Silver Linings Playbook 8/10

Awesome Film! Great Performance by Bradly Cooper.

Jennifer Lawrence  My new Favorite Actress now :)

If you like brutal action/martial art films then look no further than 'The Raid Redemption' and 'IP Man 1&2'. If you like Korean films start with 'The Chaser' and 'I Saw the Devil'.

Will do thanks. Of all the ones ive seen so far, the most enjoyable have been, Old boy, sympathy for lady/mr vengeance and the man from no where. Korean cinema is surprisingly good.

Wrong Turn 5
0.5/10

Vile, disgusting and utterly avoidable. Wants to be "tough" but ends up childish. Part 4 is a masterpiece compared to this garbage.

House of 9

A captive movie , where 9 people are captured and set in a house with no escape. Only one will get out , the last person standing.

5 / 10.

Watched RACE 2, and came to conclusion that either indians are really stupid or just simply naive. :yk

Wasted 2 hours of my life watching this garbage but Atif aslam song was really good.

Wreck-It Ralph

8/10
A video game villain wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfill his dream, but his quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives.

a must watch..

parts of donkey punch, silly plot, obvious story and one extremely explicit sex scene..... seriously dont even think about watching it with the family.

Is flight watchable with family?

Knew not a thing about this film, but did some researches for you:).

If you mean 'Flight' 2012, then....... no! At least, I wouldn´t given the detailed information on BBFC and IMDB:).

Thanks guys. Wont be watching it.

Can someone recommend a decent film comedy or action that I can watch with family? Sweaing and violence is ok jus no sex scenes?

Iv got a whole stack of films I want to watch but my families decided on movie night with me lol.

'Table No. 21' 2013 (Paresh Rawal)

A great, great film:14:! Raging is not a joke, it's a crime!!! May anything such never happen to anyone, as is shown in the film.

Don't know his name, but the leading actor did his job quite well. Watched my first film after 27th December, which is quite unusual of me, but happy that it was this one:). Keeps you on your toes every minute. A very unlike-Bollywood film.

The only negative thing is that it contains inappropriate language and indecent scenes here and there.

I will give it
9.8/10

Where is our poster Rockers2012, who somewhat pushed to watch this film in the following post?

Table no 21.

Really good hindhi movie. It has touched upon a serious issue that prevails at most universities in the world not just in India but also in Pakistan. "Ragging is not a joke, but a crime." I have been ragged by my seniors during my freshmen years and it was no fun at all. 18-19 years boys entering into universities could take certain things personally to their hearts. Could easily be mentally screwed. Some students did suicide in real life because of the humiliation and constant ragging up.

Different bollywood stuff. 8/10. Some food for thought.

PS: This practice has been banned at some of Pakistani universities which is a good thing. If anyone gets caught doing it, he or she is going to pay monetary fine for it.

I thought it was Table NO. 21

The message in the movie was good but I didn't like the story because it was so predictable.

Saw a feature in Dawn on an old Satyajit Ray's movie called "Shatranj ke Khilari" and decided to give it a try on this cold, wet and dreary Sunday afternoon. It was one of only two Hindi/Urdu movies that Ray ever made.

Cast include the legendary Sanjeev Kumar and the ever green Saeed Jafri as the main characters of the movie playing a pair of pretentious Nawabs of Lucknow obsessed with playing chess and totally apathetic and indifferent to the world around them. Amjad Khan as the out of touch King of Oudh, steeped in music, poetry and arts but totally oblivious to the state of affairs of his Kingdom. Shabana Azmi as the neglected sexually deprived wife of Sanjeev Kumar. Fareeda Jalal as the adulterous wife of Saeed Jafri and a small cameo by Farooq Shiekh.

Its set in 1856, a year before the revolutionary war. Its a slow paced movie as expected but very well made with beautiful dialogue and meaningful commentary on the historical background behind the fall of the Mughal empire. While the British kept moving forward with their quest to occupy and control India, the rulers and the notable gentry of India kept retreating, too complacent, lethargic and scared to put up any kind of resistance. While they were masters of the fine arts, they enjoyed the finer things in life a little too much. Amitabh Bachan's baritone voice provides an apt narration. It even has some animated scenes in it. In short, a brilliant movie from a master movie-maker. Definitely worth watching. The whole movie is on Youtube in parts if anyone is interested.

^^^ Seen this movie long back ...it was one of the three movies in a Satyajit Ray DVD I brought...Brilliant movie !!! It is not for no reason that he is called India's finest...and one of the best in the world.... He can a tell a story like no other !!!

great watch saadibaba, Ray's movies are getting forgotten but he was ahead of his time..and what a legendary movie cast. i remember watching this movie at a very young age and thought how boring it was, while my dad was praising it. Ray also made many movies for kids but they are in Bangla. My favourite director..my childrhood would not have been the same without his movies.

Indeed a legend. BTW, have you guys seen the "Apu trilogy". Its almost embarrassing for me to admit that despite calling myself a movie buff, I have not seen them. If you have, what are your views on it.

No. I tried watching Pather Pancholi ....I donno even a single bit of bengali....my friend was trying to translate every scene..it became tiresome..and I gave up ...Hopefully sometime with subtitles....

I wanted to go to special 26..but dont feel like it now....

just downloaded Emma Watson's The perks of being a wall Flower after I heard good reviews from friends...

has anybody seen it here???

No question. Obviously Patiala House, the context at the beginning was just thrilling! Really highlighted the suffering Sikh people had to face in the aftermath of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

After a long time, a truly gripping horror film.

Bughuuuullll!!!!! :runaway:

'Race 2' 2013 (Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Deepiks Padukone, Amisha Patel)

Oh` utter garbage:boom:! I have heard that the film`s earnings are breaking all the records (?). If so, then the Indian public has a few questions to answer. Well, not quite considering the fact that every other Salman Khan film breaks all the records (mostly already set by his own films).

The directors, Abbas and Mastan, need to realise that too many twists and turns in every other film of theirs makes it all too predictable. There were hardly any moves which I couldn't guess before they happened.

As is usually the case with their films, every other person is conspiring against another by being involved with another, and everyone betrays everyone:22:

As for Deepika Padukone, maybe the girl is not well advised, but it seems that the she is working for the wrong (film) industry (I hope others understand what I am trying to say:) ).

Anil Kapoor`s comedy and jokes were quite cheap and vulgar, but so was the whole film:facepalm:.

Looper

Futuristic time travel thriller starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis

A good premise and overall a success if not a memorable film. There are a few plot holes as can be expected with a time travel film and also a few scenes drag out a little too much but the action, acting and general execution of this genre is good

Special praise for the ending and the acting of the child who is absolutely brilliant

7/10

Sardar (9/10) staring Parish Rawal as Sardar

A very informative film about the role Sardar Patel played in the independence of India and esp. the indian POV of Kashmir, Hyderabad/Junagarh issue. Historically quiet accurate (with minor Indian bias). Kept me hooked till the end

After a long time, a truly gripping horror film.

Bughuuuullll!!!!! :runaway:

Classy movie. The lawnmower scene was brutally awesome!

BTW, Bughull/The Boogeyman is scary precisely because he wasn't seen much. But they are making a franchise of it. Another Jason Voorhees in the making

One of the reasons why I never watch any sequels. Except the Alien franchise of course. I will watch Alien 99 too if I live that long! Can't get enough of the biatch :lee

The Perks of Being a Wall Flower starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller

One of the most beautifull films I have seen in a very very long time. It is not your typical high school movie.....A very simple story yet complicated with powerfull emotions dealing with dark subjects and dark characters with a past...Dialogues are so real and honest....I think even a person who is going through the emotion could not have wrote it any better

Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra bring so much life into the characters that make the movie that much more soulfull......and their chemistry as friends...so believable......

On a whole ..A great film !!! I am pretty sure it will end up being one of Americas Teenage Classics !!!!

Rating: 10/10 -- I literally have nothing bad to say !!! Watch it !!!!!

I watched all the Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequels. I like slasher movies. But I hope they don't make Bughull into a slasher villain.

Special 26

Watched a Bollywood movie after a long time. It had good reviews.

The movie was very nice and very realistic. Gripping to the point movie. 80 % of the movie was excellent. 20 % was annoying , the songs and romantic side. I would say just fast forward the songs and you have a winner with you.

8 / 10

Yeah. Slashers were fun when I was younger. Scream remains my all time favorite. Now I like a more esoteric horror like Japanese horror. You must check out this quirky little Asian film called Three Extremes for a dose of Korean style slashing.

I also love 'found footage' horror. The Ploughkeepsie Tapes is one in this sub-genre I'd really recommend if you like a whole lot of slashing. It is a very disturbing film - hard to watch and only for hardened horror freaks.

Prince of the city......really awesome movie.....whoever had played a lead role of detective Ceillo....awesome actor.....really stole the show. One of the best cop movies.

9/10

Steel Trap

Another captive based movie. People taken together and trapped and slashed one by one. Surprise ending towards the end.

7 / 10

Mama

Original, and some really frightening scenes.

But the ending really ruined everything for me. Changed the entire dynamics of what was otherwise a genuinely good horror flick.

Had a very beautiful piece of poetry too. Here it is:).....

It will be interesting to share this......

"Ussey door se hee taak ta raha,
Bas yoo´n hee waqt kaat ta raha,
Na jaane kiyu´n nigahei´n thammi rahi´n,
Bas uss ke chehrey pe hee jammi rahi´n,
Kabhi chaand samajh kar, kabhi chaandni,
Hum ussey deykh tey rahe tehzeeb se,
Par kabhi socha na tha unn ka deedar hoga itne kareeb se."

Those sought of movies are way to predictable, i would reconmmend silver lining's playbook brilliant movie with excellent performances

Just remembered 2 gems:
Little Miss Sunshine: 8.5/10
The Darjeeling Limited: 8/10
Both movies are incredible for an amazing screenplay, and the little things displayed by the director, the dialogues are not the only thing that further the storyline, it is acting, setting that plays a huge part. Both movies are must watch for those who enjoy light comedies, especially Little Miss Sunshine

Django - Liked it but way too long, could've easily trimmed 30 minutes from unnecessary long shots and camera angles. Otherwise a good movie - 8/10

Life of Pi - 7.5/10 Spectacular visuals and a brilliant ending. An exemplary take on atheism vs faith which mirrors my opinion on it as well, one cannot survive without the other.

paradise now

plot kinda went to crap fairly early on, too many characters also. was expecting a much tidier narrative. well acted though and the ending was decent i guess. 6/10.

high-tension-movie-poster-small.jpg

A gruesome, suspenseful gem with a shocking twist ending but which opens not plot holes but plot craters. The violence is off the charts especially a scene where a woman gets her throat slashed and is gasping for air while the wound just keeps opening. :boom: and a scene with a concrete saw which must break some kind of record for most amount of blood lol . The ending almost ruins it but still a very good horror film.

7.5/10

^^^^A fine French horror film, they really do some off the wall gruesome horror that exceeds any contemporary Hollywood cinema.

High Tension mainly plays on the dissociative identity disorder. In horror genre it's probably the best portrayal of that condition along with obsession with protecting a loved one in order to gain their compassion, paranoia, schizophrenia etc. Masterfully acted by the main lead, brilliantly directed and paced, it's probably one of the best foreign horror movies I have seen.
