can anyone recommend movies

# That have suspense till the end like " Game "

# That have some character given extra ordinary power like " Limitless "
 
I think i have seen enough quality movies now,i am reaching at a point that i do not find top quality movies any more from 1980 onwards...i can not tolerate average stuff and i do not intend to go for Korean,Spanish or Japenese movies either....

I think i am only left with 10 or 20 movies,which match my quality standards..:(

I will have to atleast wait for a month for every single movie now..

This movie is awesome! Not a horror movie. So expect it as horror and it will fail. Expect an action comedy and it shall tick all the boxes.

Hence you watch bottom dwelling crap with the quality movies. You won't truly appreciate the quality of a good movie until you have seen a truly bad movie.

E.g. The room, troll 2 and plan 9 from outer space

Mindblowing movies these.

I think you'll like it.

Gore is predominant throughout the film but then it takes on a psychological thriller feel. If I had to rank it, I'd say it's on par with Mama as being one of the finer 'horror' films of the decade.
 
Purge looks good with Lena Hedley - but then it succumbed to the typical strangers stuck in the house with crazy folk trying to break in mold. Meh.

This movie is very good, the actor who played Robert Ford was pretty good 10/10

That's right......:)) Good and bad is a relative term here...
 
Scary MoVie.

Terrible, even by Scary Movie standards. Utterly stale.
 
Rewatched ''The Prestige''. I am a huge Nolan skeptic but this movie is the closest he came to a masterpiece so I watch it now and then when I am sick of scoffing at DK fans :P

Powerful Danish drama touching on a sensitive subject. 9/10
 
The Killer

Great gun toting action film from john woo starring chow yun fat Set the standard for the rest for a lot of future action films

Olympus Has Fallen

Cliched american script and preposterous ott action film starring Gerard Butler. The story line is ridiculous with the whole film a poor mess

Has anyone seen "Hemlock Grove" series on Netflix yet ? Is it any good ?
 
Oblivion. Was a bit meh - a few good twists but felt like it was lacking in substance. 5/10.
 
Friday the 13th (not bad)
The Collector (very good)
Saw (all of them, except the last one which was to commercial for me)
Final Destination II (maybe I as well, the others were mediocre and predictable)
The Prom/Prom Night (good)
Halloween (i cant remember which one, but the was a very good one)
Jeepers Creepers 1 (was better than II)
The Creep (very good)
Jason vs Freddy (good)
Hostel I (very good)
Husk (good)
Haunting In Connecticut (good)
The Final (good)
My Bloody Valentine (very good)
Wrong Turn/Jennifer's Body? meh..

Others were mediocre or i forgot them e.g. The Crazies/Nightmare 2010
 
Recently been getting into sci fi movies.
Pitch Black (8/10) - Vin Diesel, rather good plot and characters. Crash land on a planet which is a completely deserted.

Sunshine(7/10) - A crew has to deliver a bomb which will start a chain of reactions within the sun. Good twist in the movie, has two halves to it. First half is completely different to the second. Still surprisingly enjoyed it.
 
2012 was a good year for Korean cinema...starting to work my way through the releases...

Saw three movies this week...Unbowed is certainly the best of them...a legal thriller which exposes the corruption in the Korean judiciary...

Suspect X was a decent thriller...most of it worked very well but its let down by the last quarter...its based on a book and apparently the changes I didn't like were also the changes made from the book...might read it now...

Confession of a Murder was a fun movie...slightly outlandish thriller and not on the level of the Chaser for instance but still a fun watch...
 
The Evil Dead - A must watch for fans of horror films :)

Lots of blood as expected, quite enjoyed it 7.5/10
 
Seen Iron Man 3 on Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised. Its was good entertainment with some good humor mixed in. Best of the Iron Man movies i think and Ben Kingsley was brilliant.

Saw The intouchables. Amazing. Loved it. A movie that genuinely made me laugh out loud.
 
'Jolly LLB' 2013 (Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, Saurabh Shukla)

A good film. I liked it and enjoyed! Whereas the film overall deals with quite a serious issue, I liked it how they were able to inject some humour into it. Saurabh Shukla´s role as a judge was quite a funny one:)).

I will give it.....

One of the more disturbing movies I have seen. It's shown almost entirely from POV of Frank, the maniac killer(played superbly by Elijah Wood). At times, you feel like you are doing the killing. Very violent. Not recommended if you are looking for a "fun night out". A very good remake of the original which was also a pretty good movie.

agree.Saurabh Shukla was the best :))
 
Watched 'Kai Po Che'.awesome film.all actors acted brilliantly but I felt it was a director's film.Abhishek Kapoor does a fantastic job.

'Coming to America'

I'm not a big fan of Eddie Murphy, but this along with 'Trading Places' are classics!!!
 
I just saw Olympus has fallen. Had zero expectations but I was surprised in a good way.

If you like actions movies then you will like this.

Has the mandatory plot holes and "AMMMEERRRRICCCAAAA"! Moments but is still pretty enjoyable. Acting is good , plot doesn't try too be too fancy, plus great action scenes.

7.5/10 for me . Don't go too this if you are look for an engaging movie, go to it if you want to have good fun

watched it yesterday, was very good 9/10
the ending scene is so powerful, when the little girl describes the killer "the killer was ordinary" when asked by the detective

but it certainly gets annoying when u watch a foreign film (korean) which u cant understand language, and constantly reading the subtitles below while trying to see the picture

Weak villain. The stakes weren't higher. Too happy an ending. Impressive fights cannot mask a story which was not very interesting either. Everybody was raving about this so much. So disappointed.

IMO, Iron Man 1 was the best of the three movies and Vanko was the best villain.

Agreed. IM3 was one of the worst movies I have seen in a while. Without Kingsley it would have been unbearable.

The mandarin in IM3 was supposed to be this awesome villain with 10 superpower rings and more powerful than all the avengers combined. Instead we got the worst villain I have ever seen. The movie sucked so bad can't believe it's getting such good reviews. Makes me think they have critics on the payroll.

Can't base a 2 hr movie on RDJ antics and humour. Especially when it is so formulaic. And what was with Cheadles character. I don't think I've ever seen a character that is so shallow in depth.

Also so many parts of the movie actually didn't make sense. Was riddled with plot holes bigger than Tony Starks ego and product placement worse than iRobot

Damn silly. I didn't mind Pearce because he is a good actor. But Kingsley deserved better. They clearly tried the
Dark knight rises twist of the main villain being hidden
but it didn't work because that film's villain was actually menacing.

It borrowed elements from TDKR. Also, did you catch the scene after the credits?

Yeah. That was funny though short and kinda not worth waiting I guess. Maybe a preview of Avengers 2/Captain America 2 would have been good enough.
