London Boulevard - pretty poor effort, especially with such an incredible cast.

90% of latest Hollywood flicks I watch are crap. Don't know whether its me who is making wrong choices.

they are crap, not your fault.

its either superhero rubbish, vulgar comedies or boring Oscar 'winning' drivel.

FINALLY got around to watching 'The Hangover Part II'.

I loved it. Sure, it wasn't as good as the first one, but it was still full of lulz.

Zach is a brilliant actor. Hilarious.

that scene with the anchor :)) :)) :))

have not laughed like that in a long time.

Saw "True Grit" last night. Was expecting more from Coen Brothers, frankly was not impressed. The main character played by Jeff Bridges was mumbling throughout with a thick southern accent and was hard to understand. Even Matt Damon who is usually pretty good seemed to be out of place.

Saw"The King's Speech" and really liked it. Great acting and story and nice ending.

That was brilliant.

He tosses it over like it's normal. :))

The scene with the girl in the club explaining what happened to Stu. I was literally ROFL.

Coen brothers are easily the most OVERRATED filmmakers in recent memory.

get way too much credit.

Well, they are unconventional and how many directors in todays Hollywood are taking risks anymore, so far that one must give them credit. There is a distinctive style and feel to their movies and the protagonist in their movies are usually ordinary people.

"No country for old men", "Fargo" and "The Big Lebowski" are one of my favorite movies. Despite their prolific career they have only managed to win one Oscar as director for No country.

Fargo is a CLASSIC

Black Swan......OH MY DAYS!

Natalie Portman won an Oscar for absoloutly drilling herself! whats this world come to in terms of gaining success and honor!

I just watched 12 Angry Men, an old black-and-white American classic. It was a bit slow in parts, but overall a wonderful character study. The premise of the movie is also interesting- a jury consisting of 12 men decides whether or not to impose the death sentence on a man charged with murder.

Great individual performances, especially by Lee J. Cobb, and Henry Fonda. Here's a really strong scene from the movie:

X men : First class. Pretty good. Esp how the relationship between Prof X, Magneto and Mystique develops and evolves.

^^Going to see it tomorrow! I can't wait. My friend liked it a lot and she's not really into those types of movies.

The Hangover Part II. Not as good as the first (the first is one of my favorite movies of all time), but still, really, really good. I was here in Bangkok when they were shooting and had the pleasure of meeting Zach (the guy who plays Alan). What a guy. Genuinely great guy. Had dinner with him on New Year's Eve night, too, along with Bradley Cooper (the guy who plays Phil). Bradley wasn't as nice though.

9/10 :)

anybody seen Super 8? any reviews?

Basically E.T., except more elaborate. Main characters are all kids, and involves an alien. Not a bad movie, but too childish for my taste. It's also somewhat predictable.

saw Super 8..

watched it in 15 minutes.. skipped till the end.. to see the end lol

boring movie

Saw it tonight. I agree, it was a bit childish...but overall, I thought it was pretty good movie. I enjoyed it!

"The Ward" -- is good...keeps you interested till the end. It is slightly sort of poor man's "Shutter Island".

"Limitless" -- good fun movie. :asif

"Borat" -- really feel sorry for the people who think Borat the movie is funny.

leaves the thread before Bora-t.i.ts retort with, "i really feel sorry for the people who dont think Borat the movie is funny. :runaway:

^ what are you talking about, Borat is the funniest comedy movie of all time. The Hangover (the original, first one) is a better movie all round, overall, but Borat in terms of comedy and just.. funniness, is the top. I haven't ever laughed as much as I have when I watched Borat. Still manage to take time out once a week to watch it, and I still laugh. Know it line by line :yk

watching Bean at hbo rite now for the millionth time & da airport scene where he pretends to have a gun under his coat is prolly da goofiest :))

Fire In Babylon - loved it! Brilliant commentary from Windies legends.

Has anyone watched Senna?

'Ready' 2011 (Salman Khan, Asin, Paresh Rawal, Mahesh Manjrekar)

A good one if you want to have a laugh, but overall a baseless film where every 15 minutes do not match to the prior ones. Things are just moving forward like anything.

A thing which is quite irritating of late is the super-human portrayal of Salman Khan in films as he is present every where and can do anything. The director tried to make another film like 'Welcome' (2008), but was way off target:facepalm:.

As a side note, the fun making of blacks in Bollywood films is very tasteless and needs a check. Every comedy film has a scene or two dedicated to mock black people and their appearance:boom:.

A good time pass it is:19:!

"Fair Game" - Naomi Watts and Sean Penn.

Its about the Valerie Plame case. Naomi Watts as always great, she is probably the most underrated actress of our times. Sean Penn is good too, as always.

I Saw The Devil - absolutely brutal tale of revenge.

Easily one of the best movies i've seen in a while - 9/10

i think ill give it a watch over the weekend, ive seen a few korean and jap films and liked em so far.

I saw mugle azam yesterday but not whole as there were too many ads . as many as 10 to 15 in every break !!!

I saw Sin Nombre a Mexican movie which is about the trials and tribulations Central Americans face in trying to escape their homeland in order to get to the United States...its interlaced with a gangster theme covering MS13 which works really well...

Been watching quite a few documentaries lately...one of the better ones was called 'The Agronomist' which is about Jean Dominique who ran Radio Haiti for 40 years...the courage of this man is incredible...the documentary itself provides an extremely balanced view of what has happened in Haiti...truly tragic how that country has been abused by the US, Canada and France...
