You are right.

I saw Mudholland drive recently , I will write about it . I did not like it , have you seen David Lynch movies ? I do not understand them at all .
Some of the Lynch movies that do make sense are Blue Velvet and The Straight Story. He deliberately makes bizarre movies which don't make much sense and doesn't talk about them so audience can make their own interpretations.

His show Twin Peaks is a genuine classic. Murder-mystery, supernatural horror, comedy, drama, soap opera, mindscrew stuff. Got it all.

'Lucky Di Unlucky Story' (2013)

An entertaining Punjabi comedy film. Some scenes were very funny.

Can anyone provide with a list of some thrilling horror movies, it's been a while haven't see any good scary movie. Looking forward to your response.

Check out Occulus. A fresh horror movie from earlier this year. Good execution on fresh ideas.

Rang Rasiya 4/10

A really poor film which has bad acting and songs though a couple of scenes were eye popping

Awful confusing film. What a waste of time hehehe......

Lynch is so overrated.

8.5/10

A highly predictable dramedy but with a lot of charm and a brilliant performance by Bill Murray who should (but likely won't) get an Oscar nomination. Melissa McCarthy is refreshingly restrained and very likeable as the overworked mother. Naomi Watts takes a cliched, underwritten role and gives her depth. The best performance though comes from the kid who plays Oliver. It's his debut but he is so confident, assured and absolutely no mugging for the camera.

This will leave a smile on your face and make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Looks promising.

Saw interstellar. Would give it 3.5 out of 5. I like my science hard and real - so prefer Gravity. Interesting premise and concepts especially for most people who aren't so much into some of the crazy things that theoretical physicists think about all day. I liked how they intercut real interviews from people who experienced the dust bowls in 30s mid-west. However didn't like how they shied away from actually mentioning climate change. Also going through a worm-hole, taking off from a planet with so much intense gravity that 1 hour lasts 23 years on earth and surviving falling into a black hole and coming out at the other end - well not even worth debating I guess.

Over rated and over ambitious - a shorter far less silly film would have been better.......and although Matthew McConaughey has finally managed to re-invent himself away from the dirge of Rom-Coms his astronaut cum farmer has to be one of the most ludricous characters to make it to screen. Perhaps they should have gone the whole nine yards and given the part to Hugh Grant....or better still Shah Rukh.

3 marks for trying so hard and .5 marks for raising awareness of the damage we are doing to the planet but 1.5 marks knocked off for sheer silliness and hollywoodness........

Blue velvet was a bit better , you could understand the plot , but Mulholland Drive was just difficult to connect. The only good thing was that " Home Less Man " , Lynch could have given that more screen time.

Mulholland Drive

After a car wreck on the winding Mulholland Drive renders a woman amnesiac, she and a perky Hollywood-hopeful search for clues and answers across Los Angeles in a twisting venture beyond dreams and reality.

The Movie has several sub plots and characters who hardly connect to each other. The movie starts with a bang , but as it goes on it becomes difficult to connect the characters and events with each other.
Naomi Watts looks good in the movie.

You need to watch carefully , really carefully to find connections , there are very small clues.

'Bha Ji In Problem' (2013)

A hilarious Punjabi comedy film! The language itself already adds so much to the fun with terms such as "Ni tere kinney khassam ney?" The last 20 minutes or so almost made me choke:)):)):))):))):)))!

That said, making fun of blindness was plain pathetic! Really uncalled for, but I suppose such sensitive things aren't taken any seriously by some.

Guardians of the Galaxy - Chris Pratt doing what he does best. Surprisingly enjoyable movie. 9/10

Hercules - Disappointing, I expected an action flick but even that was hard to find. 5/10

Spirited Away - Wow, studio Ghlibi. Never had time to watch it when it first released over a decade ago, glad I did now. A beautifully animated film with an amazing sound track, combined with a magical world. 10/10

'Happy Ending' (2014)

Probably the 110th film or so featuring Saif Ali Khan in which they have shown him to a guy has had multiple affairs in life, doesn't understand love and relationship, thinks that girls are only there to have physical relations with, before finally finding that one girl who makes him feel his heart-beat. Was this a spoiler at all? Hmmm,.... anyway

An okay film. Something a bit more interesting should have been added to the story.

Interstellar : Felt like a dive into Michio Kaku's mind. A rather exaggerated take on theoretical physics but very entertaining. 9/10

'Wake Up Sid' (2009)

What a simple story! I really really loved it! Not for a second did it get boring despite it having not many turns to offer. It has put a smile on my face. An excellent film!

A typically sleazy, eurohorror effort from that man Joe D'Amato. Basically, it's a love story between a rich but orphaned man child, his babysitter/housekeeper and his lover who so happens to be dead.

Surprisingly, this one is restrained and chooses to concentrate on the characters. D'Amato chooses to let the story play out naturally and this is his most mature effort. There is plenty of gore however and it's disgusting. There are just 3-4 sequences but they are extremely realistic and nauseating. A scene in particular caused me to almost throw up was when the psycho housekeeper gorges on some homemade stew.

The performances are poor except for the housekeeper who is fantastic and marvelously creepy. The lead actor is wooden and boring. Overall, a surprisingly decent and less schlocky movie from D'Amato who has made some real crapathons before and after this.

One of the best of Ranbir , despite being a small budget one.

The director and Ranbir are real life friends , that is why he acted in this.

Fury

Excellent film with top performances across the board. Doesnt hold back and some scenes are quite gory. Well worth a look

8/10

I watched Locke yesterday. Beyond the brilliant concept and Tom Hardy managing the feat of holding the screen for almost two hours (and I don't know a lot of real life people I would tolerate the whole way from Birmingham to London), it's a very compelling character drama stripped to the minimum minimorum.

The Wolf of The Wall Street

Based on the true story of Jordan Belfort, from his rise to a wealthy stock-broker living the high life to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government.

A very fast paced movie. No dull moments.

Leonardo was excellent , portrayed his character brilliantly.

There were some gross scenes , but over all solid movie.

'Yaar Anmulle' (2011)

Not a bad film, surely not, but I was left disappointed by the information provided on its IMDB page as that had classified it as a comedy film, which it wasn´t even for 15 minutes counted together. So not sure how to react as the film itself was okay.
---------

'Eklavya: The Royal Guard' (2007)

Quite a brilliant film. It had this touch of William Shakespeare´s play to it. However, given how the film started and ran throughout, a tragic ending would have suited more than a happy one. That would have made it look perfect.

Bhai, aapne aisa taanha diya ke kaafi din koi film bhi na deykhi. It´s a good habit for me, keeps me fresh and entertained. My joblessness is while documented on the forum anyway you know.

Happy Ending 5.5/10

nothing special a routine hindi movie with a plethora of big cast an ok one time watch Saif looked really ugly in some scenes

A decent WWII War movie with some really good action and drama moments. Makes you feel the war is hell sentiment. Except for the terrible Hollywoodish ending. No patch on Saving Private Ryan or other great war movies like Platoon and Full Metal Jacket but worth a watch.

Didnt think the ending was terrible tbf, although could have been better.

Agree with the rest of what you said though

Dawn of the planet of Apes: 7/10.

The movie portrays the beginning of any civilization. Ape don't kill ape being the first words taught to young ones in school, an ideology which their magnanimous leader Caesar lives by and what he thinks sets their species apart from Humans. Then just like Cain killed Abel, the germs of envy, deceit and jealousy pit ape against ape just like they did human against human. The battle for the survival of the fittest, the evolutionary process circles around and we have the pre human era fighting the humans, only humans this time around are the soon to be extinct variety. By the end it's hard to tell who is ape and who is human. Brilliant.

Because of this Oscar worthy comment on dawn of the planet of apes, i watched this movie with unusually high expectations. Well may be i should'nt have It is a really good film but not a great one. It was very much predictable. I liked Rise of the planet of apes way better than this one. I agree about andy serkins , there were times i felt he expressed just through his eyes and no words were needed. Good acting. Everything good just the feeling that i have seen this kind of story/situation before.

"If I stay" - About a geeky, misfit girl whose rockstar parents die within 15 minutes into the movie. Whole story revolves around her memories of past while she is fighting death in ICU.

Sufficiently gripping story for the most part, but becomes quite pointless with the way movie ends. 5.5/10

World's Greatest Dad - Robin Williams in the lead does a really good job as usual. The movie is well crafted, albeit slightly dark at times.

22 Jump Street - Epic. If you are a fan of the original, then believe it or not, this is better!

Let's be cops - As a sucker for comedy, I found this gave me some satisfaction. A notch below 22 Jump street obviously but it has the added benefit of Nina Dobrev in extremely tight jeans so that's always a plus.

'Jihne Mera Dil Luteya' (2011)

Not a bad film, but again, I had hoped for some comedy.

Sorry brother meray I didn't mean it that way I had no idea about the joblessness situation. Bhai ki baatun ko mind na karna.

Arrey bhai, meiney harghiz ghussa nahi´n kiya. You are one sensitive guy it seems. Quite on the contrary, I love being made fun of here on the forum.

LaBeouf was good in it and showed glimpses of what he can do if he takes his craft seriously.

agreed.

Was shocked at how good he was. Shows that he can actually act beyond the "confused american teenager that says no no no no no" role.

Dabbe. I reckon this was the best exorcism movie I have seen since The Exorcist.

Predestination- A woman who becomes a man, time travel and a very confusing plot. I didn't get it. :jaya

Trance

An art auctioneer who has become mixed up with a group of criminals partners with a hypnotherapist in order to recover a lost painting.

I was this close to watching this movie but changed my mind..so recommend it?

Most definitely.

Apart from a couple of "over the top" scenes and some customary annoying 'girl in horror movie' scenes, I think the way this was executed, the way the story was handled and told, and how each thread of the story was intertwined with the stakes being raised the more you delve into it - was very well done.

'Ungli' (2014)

Firstly, what a weird name this film has! An okay film that could have been made better and more efficient. Still, not the worst despite the flaws in it.
--------------

'Aurangzeb' (2013)

Another one of those Bollywood films about twin brothers that got separated in their childhood. Still, despite going on with this same old idea, it wasn´t really a bad film. Quite okay-ish, but I so dislike this Arjun Kapoor guy and his acting. Not quite a fan of his style of talking with a whole wide open mouth. It annoys me a bit, not that I am commenting on his looks of course, rather instead about his own unique style.

Hell_Of_The_Living_Dead.jpg

I think the name Claudio "Troll 2" Fragasso should have given me a hint. x 100000000.

Horrible movie. The gore is good enough but the zombies are possibly the most harmless I have seen. Not to mention, their "Walk". :)))

There are entire 2 minute sequences devoted to NatGeo stock footage with birds flying and animals grazing!

The movie rips off Dawn of the Dead and Night of the Living Dead, not to mention Zombi 2.

The soundtrack is great by Goblin but WAIT! That was ripped off from other movies where Goblin provided the music! Bruno "the hack" Mattei and Claudio "I think Troll 2 is a masterpiece but what do the idiots know" Fragasso have crafted a truly horrible movie which only makes you think how good Argento, Bava and Fulci really were.

3.5/10

Color me Blood 1965 5/10

A psycho painter starts painting with human blood in order to get attention and fame but he is finally exposed a very simple movie there was a strange Pink Panther type music in background most of the time also very informative about how the things were 49 years ago :P

'Jatt and Juliet' (2012)

What a sweet film! Brilliant, very enjoyable, entertaining! 9 out of 10 (there was bit of a racist sentiment against blacks, otherwise it deserved 10 out of 10)!

I have always been a huge fan of love stories that begin due to fights between two lovers. It´s in my opinion the best form of a love story, and I realise that I might just be a bit bias as my personal experience makes me think like that. Great film!

An insane man turns a jerk podcaster into a walrus while his girlfriend and best friend try and save him with the help of a former cop. A horror comedy that is truly disturbing in places and unexpectedly funny in others.

Michael Parks as the nutcase gives a truly mesmerising performance. He speaks the most ridiculous dialogue with utter conviction. Do look out for Haley Joel Osment AKA the boy who sees dead people and Johnny Depp in key roles.

Alright then. Will watch it soon enough.

Btw if ya ever get around to watch the babdook please do explain the freaking ending to me. Thanks.

Watched Boyhood, and it was really a waste of time. Critics rated this film so highly, don't know why. 12 years of hype is the only selling point of the film but hey I like art-houses films but this flick is strictly average.

3/10

The man who shot liberty valance 9.5/10.

A classic Western starring James Stewart and John Wayne. The movie was thoroughly entertaining.

BIG HERO 6

Was bidding farewell to a friend who leaves for her home country in a few days, decided to meet up and watch this.

Best mid-finals-week movie EVER.

The story initially seems very techy, but that impression lasts merely for the first few minutes, and is overtaken by adorable accidents, incidents and some very real, and believable character development. Quite literally makes you fall in love with the whole cast - and my eyes did fill up more than once throughout the movie.

By far, one of the cutest, most adorable yet with very, very decent action animated flicks I've ever seen!

This one's a must guys - Donal Cozzie endymion248 96NotOut

The Babadook - Loved that crazy looking kid, and his mom. The moment this movie started, I knew that the ghost was no match for those two. 8/10.

A perfect Murder

Millionaire industrialist Steven Taylor is a man who has everything but what he craves most: the love and fidelity of his wife. A hugely successful player in the New York financial world, he considers her to be his most treasured acquisition. But she needs more than simply the role of dazzling accessory. Brilliant in her own right, she works at the U.N. and is involved with a struggling artist who fulfills her emotional needs. When her husband discovers her indiscretion, he sets out to commit the perfect murder and inherit her considerable trust fund in the bargain.

very good movie . Solid fast moving script, does not have any dull moments.

2014BabadookPosterIcon.jpg

A very good drama-horror film showing the disintegration of a woman who has lot her husband and whose kid shows troubling characteristics. As if that were not enough, she is haunted by a supernatural entity named The Babadook.

Absolutely no jump scare in this but there is a lot of drama and luckily, it's very well done. The lead actress does a very good job. The kid starts off VERY annoying but you warm up to him due to some nifty writing.

A highly audacious ending too. Overall, an uneasy, emotional horror film rather than a film full of shocks and scares but a well-made one nonetheless.

8/10
SwingNSeam

I think at the end, the Babadook was defeated and it retreated to the basement. Since she killed the dog while possessed by the Babadook, she made the Babadook as the dog/rather the b____. A highly unconventional ending and I haven't explained it well enough but it works for this movie.

'Jatt vs. Kaur' (2013)

Not great but still enjoyable, as most films are featuring Gippy Grewal. However, the name of the film hardly made sense to me. Which Kaur was the Singh competing against exactly?

That joke about 'Titanic' (1997) was hilarious. Hahaha:)):)))!!!!

I didn't like jatt and Juliet because the main protagonist was jatt(there's a huge jatt Rajput rivalary here). Not to mention I don't understand Punjabi at all

I am a Jatt as well mind you, double that with myself being a Pakistan; does this rivalry include me as well?

I really liked it, it had shades of the Shining. It is also very open to interpretation. There wasn't really any event where you could say for sure that the Badabook exisited, it could just as well have been the troubled side of the mother's personality. Kind of like a better done ''Hide and Seek''.

I agree. It also reminded me of the last twenty minutes of Session 9 which could easily fall into a supernatural / non-supernatural horror film.
