Which players should be part of Pakistan's spinning trio in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025?

ICC Champions Trophy is just four months away from us and Pakistan is going to be its host but still they haven't made any decision regarding their preferred XI for the upcoming tournament. With Pakistan spin department witnessing a new spark after the triumph against England in the second Test, the race for the preferred spinners have become wide open.

With Sajid Khan, Noman Ali, Zahid Mehmood, Abrar Ahmed, Usman Tariq, Usama Mir, Arafat Minhas, Abrar Ahmed, Shadab Khan all contending for the only 3 spinners slot in the squad. Which players in your opinion should be selected for Pakistan to defend their Champions Trophy (CT) title
 
Abrar Ahmed, Mehran Mumtaz and Shadab.

Abrar because he's a mystery spinner and might actually be useful as opposed to Tests where he no usefulness.

Mehran Mumtaz: I think with his quick darters he can bring something different. In general I'm interested to see how he does if given the chance.

Shadab: Unfortunately he is our premier limited-overs spinner. He has been in rubbish form for a very long time but when he's in form he's a proper all-rounder who can deliver in all three departments. Outstanding fielder too.
 
Abrar and Mehran have to be in. Third option you can look around. One problem is that Pakistan may need a spin all rounder to bat no. 7 or 8. In that case you'd of course have to look at Shadab. But Mubasir is another option.

Can u add sufyan muqeem plz. He's more developed than faisal Akram

A better version of Nauman Ali and has a stellar record in every format

He is on the older side, but a stop-gap until the likes of Faisal, Sufiyan, Mehran etc mature and get more experience behind them

You really rate him? He looked good batting. Whats your opinion on Abdul Samad? Is there alot to work with and how can he improve and be ready for the top level?

Personally I think he is good enough to be #7.

But he can't go in cold. Should play all ODIs leading up to CT.
 
Noman has to be there, for too long Babar crippled his career.

Sajid would be a good attacking option.

And then you need a very good leg spinner, Shadab Khan could have been a good option but he has lost the ability to use his wrists, Abrar Ahmed can be a good option but fitness issues right now? Zahid Mahmood is a bit unknown for me and he seems to go for a few. I feel like with a charismatic leader with a few brain cells, Usama Mir can be used like a match winner and he has some experience to though not sure of his fitness status.
 
What about Mohammad Hafeez 🤔 maybe the PM can give him a call to do his duty for his country and help them retain his championship, you can’t hold on to a title for so many years and not expect to defend it right

If they want an allrounder then Mubasir can be picked
 
Abrar Ahmed may did well here but still I believe we need to give Sajid Khan a chance in the ODI side. He is a potential game changer.
 
Sufyan Muqeem, a must have player now. Even we can drop Salman Agha for him as Sajid Khan can replace him
 
Bangladesh is suddenly becoming a pace force. Pakistan is becoming spin force. :) Roles are getting reversed
 
Sajid, Abrar and Faisal on current form. I would have other options open for Arafat minhas as well
 
The nerd got a phainta even from Zim batters. The problem with Abrar is that he think himself as second Shane Warne where in reality he is just Harry Potter with no magic.
 
Usman Tariq is a better option than Abrar but unfortunately he may be snubbed like Saeed Ajmal although he is not a chucker.

Tbf the slow stop pausing action is typically frowned upon.

The likes of hafeez, Ashwin use to do it but stopped eventually.

he sometimes seems like he is throwing the ball... i dont think he wil survive in Indternational cricket due to his suspecious bowling action.
 
Considering Pakistan and UAE conditions, iw ould want to go with Sufiyan, Sajid and Faisal.
 
Abrar and Sajid are most likely to be the part of the squad. The third spinner could be Usman Tariq who has a very tricky action but he has been performing really well in the domestic cricket.
 
You need proper spinner in OD format. It is not 20 20. You need spinners who can deceive the batsmen in flight.

In middle overs if you do not get wickets , opposition can murder you.
 
As per reports, Sajid Khan won't be part of the CT squad. I think PCT has dropped an impact and feared player already
