It has been reported by a section of the media that Mr. Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri met former dictator Gen Pervez Musharraf in Dubai. The impression being conveyed is that this meeting was on behalf of Pakistan Tehrik e Insaaf. Nothing could be further from the truth. Mr. Kasuri ran into Gen Musharraf at a marriage ceremony in Dubai where hundreds of people were present. This was not a separate meeting but a casual encounter at a social event. Putting any other construction on a meeting that was accidental is unfortunate.
Pakistan Tehrik e Insaaf firmly believes that Gen Pervez Musharraf is answerable for crimes against the Pakistani constitution and the state. It is the belief of the party that he should come back and face all charges filed against him in Pakistani courts. PTI has no intention of having any political contact with him, formal or informal. Any speculation in this regard is completely unfounded.

MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the decision of forming an alliance with former president Pervez Musharraf will be taken in time after considering all circumstances.

Musharraf, who formed his own party by the name of All Pakistan Muslim League in 2010, has announced that he will return to Pakistan in January 2012.

“People from every political party are joining the PTI,” Qureshi told a gathering in Multan on Sunday. “PTI is neither a trend nor a fad today. It is an ideology to shake the status quo and will soon be the practical implementation of the dreams of the Pakistani people.”

Talking about PTI’s immediate rival the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, he said that PML-N’s resignation from parliament will leave the government with no option but to call for elections. “We [the PTI] are in no hurry to come into power. I pray that whoever comes in power in the future is loyal to Pakistan.”

Members of the current government, he said, are trying their best to leave the country as soon as possible. “But we have closed all doors for escaping accountability.”

Appreciating the PTI’s rise in popularity, Qureshi said, “the Karachi rally cleared the biggest controversy [and showed the] difference between government-financed gatherings and gatherings empowered by the people. PTI is actually the only party which will address the grievances of the people of Pakistan and overcome all problems.”

He said that despite all his differences with President Asif Ali Zardari, he cannot deny the generosity of his late father Hakim Ali Zardari. “He [Hakim] will always remain respectful for me and my family.

Meanwhile, he also addressed thousands of followers on the second day of the Urs of Bahauddin Zakariya. “I can leave all worldly relations but I will never leave the relationship I have with my forefathers, the holy saints and their followers,” he said

Take all these article with pinch of salt. No where in the whole article Musharaf is mentioned yet the title is drmatic. Imran in last few days have clearly said no chance of Alliance with Musharaf. Also Arif Alvi yesterday said forget about Musharaf. Media trying hard to confuse people. I really despise this dishonest media, they just want toc reat controverseries and don't care one bit about Pakistan future.

A source close to musharraf, Ashwariya Rai, has also confirmed that musharraf has not been approached by PTI for an alliance.

Nawaz Sharif ke sath itna bara Fraud. She met Nawaz Sharif on 12th october 2011 (12th october is the same day Musharaf took over) she was also one of the biggest supporter of Pervez Musharaf.

What I find it hilarious is that the other candidate Malik Umar is also part of PTI and he lost election with 600 votes. They can't go back to their constituencies. People are telling everyone we will vote for Imran khan so you better join Imran Khan.

PPP-P has split.

One is the opportunistic tola who were not close to the top leadership prior to Zardari taking over, and will make all sorts of compromises to remain in power by hook or crook. The leaders of this group dole out regular patronage based favors in order to keep up support in their constituency. These also include the recent lotas of the PML-Q.

The second group is still somewhat committed to the PPP ideology and have been sidelined by the President, because initially he was afraid of them taking over the party after BB's death. This group is hurt and believes that the President is a crook, who should be nowhere near the top of the party. Interesting point is that they have no problems with Bilawal taking over.

A true jiyala also has anti-army sentiments running through his veins and the latest gimmick by the fauj has shored up support for the President, who is once again seen as someone fighting against the conspiracies of the Army & the ISI - hence you see many here worrying about PPP's siyaasi shahadat. :)) They also feel Zardari saab has payed his dues by rotting in a jail for 11 years. :)
 
Javed Hashmi likely to be named PTI president

LAHORE - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central executive committee’s important meeting will be held on January 14 in Lahore where Javed Hashmi is likely to be chosen as the party's president, media reported on Tuesday.
Media quoted sources as saying that the meeting would discuss various party-related issues, including amendment in the party's constitution, extension of the central executive committee (CEC) as well as the core committee, strategy of the coming elections and the allocation of designations to recently joined leaders.
“The CEC will also discuss the matter to elect Hashmi as the president of the party,” sources said.

Jamshed dasti may join pti. Despite of the fact dat he held fake degree, he is a proper awami leader n even after getting disqualified he was elected yet again due to his awami support.

Lol. Initially i was hoping the same but then got a lil selfish coz if shareefs get dasti then they wud get strong in south punjab n wid elections around the corner, i wud hate to see noon getting strong.

But yeah reservations on his inclusion are justified. Btw i read in some newspaper yesterday that dasti is in touch wid khan sb.....

About a month ago. I spoke to one of my cousin and he told me Jamshed Dasti was going to join PTI and my first reaction to that was.

Allah Na Karey!

I just hope he contests election as an Azzad Candidate and doesn't join PML(N).

Dasti faked his degree and all that but he serves his people and is very much supported hence he won his by election..when he was NA's sports committee chair he was very active and trying to highlight things in sports bodies but we know how certain mafias dominate the scene and then sports ministry was dissolved and the committee no longer exists i believe...

Well if Jawed hashmi gonna be the Party Leader than he can't be PM as PM and President both need to be non-aligned when they are in the office. Obviously this government is immoral so Zardari is PPP leader and President at the same time but I'm pretty sure PTI will follow the ethical code.

I don't think you get it.

I think he is going to be named as president of PTI and Not President of Pakistan. He won't be a bad choice for President of Pakistan either.

I know but he would have to resign from Party leadership if he becomes President of Pakistan or PM of Pakistan. That issue was raised when Zardari took charge of the office as well but obviously PPPP are immorals of highest order so they wont listen.

I think he's made the Party leader as he doesn't want to become PM or President of Pakistan himself. I'm pretty sure it would be decided already between Imran and Hashmi and maybe Qureshi.

Justice Wajih udeen might be another candidate for Presidency and given he is from Sindh he has a better shot of becoming president of pakistan.

Only president needs to be unbiased, there is no such clause for p.m to be neutral though. He can be a party office holder.

Not sure of anyone from Balouchistan that has respect all over the country. You might want to go with the Balouch Nationalist like Dr. Abdul Malick or Sardar Akther Mengal but they both are not part of PTI so you might have to go for some kind of an alliance with them.

It has to be Imran Khan

Yes, he isnt the biggest political figure in the party, but he is the most charismatic. PTI is still 90% Imran Khan.
 
Imran for PM..dont want anyone else..Qureshi should be foreign minister again..he did a decent job. Hasmi pres of party..the rest of the cabinet should include the close allies who stuck with Imran!

Some news going around that Jamshed Dasti may join PTI, after Saturday's CEC meeting.

I hope he stays as far as!
