I agree to a large extent.
Many Indians seem to carry an inferiority complex about their religion and culture. That’s why some present themselves as atheists or agnostics, and when they do identify as Hindus, they often avoid meaningful discussion. In fact, most Hindus don’t follow any clear belief system or structured practice.
India is still a poor, third-world country with widespread poverty, often masked by loud, jingoistic Hindutva—something obvious to anyone who has visited.
Economically and in terms of infrastructure, India has failed compared to its true peer, China. Instead, it prefers to compare itself with a much smaller neighbor, Pakistan, using selective metrics to soothe its ego. When they get their backside handed to them by Pakistan, I can understand why it would deeply hurt!
There are many (online and elsewhere) who try to attack Islam unsuccessfully (by stealing ideas from White Missionaries but lack the depth to sustain a conversation), but none stand firmly on their own beliefs or engage academically. The Hindu inferiority complex runs so deep that some even attempt to present their scriptures as equal in preservation, transmission, and authenticity to Islam—when in reality, they are not.
