Why do Pakistan cricket fans mock terms like “Intent” and “Modern day cricket”?

Are Player PR companies, blind fans and journalists forcing us to play an anchor in T20 even though we don’t need one?

It should be mocked and for the right reason.

Words like “intent” “modern day cricket” “structure” “system” is the most often used and abused word among the Pak cricket community.

Not that it’s not important or the other teams don’t focus on it but with Pak cricket it’s often overused and abused that when the fans see the dichotomy on the Tv screens with their teams approach, they are going to mock it. Pakistanis are the kings/queens of self-deprecating humor as we hear all the time .👍.

Also when some tulla hacks are even recommended for captaincy for a couple of random slogs while consistent, hardworking and strong temperament players are mocked as tuktuk etc then the joke writes itself.

I feel SAD when looking at some of these current lot
In a good side, someone with an avg of 25 and SR of 128 like Farhan would never be celebrated because he hit 2 chikkay. In T20 cricket you have

High average high SR (true elites) like Chris Gayle/Head
High average good SR (classy) like King and Kaptaana
High average poor SR
High SR poor average
Poor SR Poor Avg like Farhan

Haters of Bobsy and Rizzy are always complaining that they aren't in the elite class of T20 average of batters which I can understand especially for Rizzy as he is a wicket keeper but then to trumpet a failure like Farhan is unfortunate who has poor SR AND poor average is unfortunate.

For our sake I hope he comes good and his recent performances have been ok.

I can see the debate on Babar because he is an anchor batsman. There is maybe 1 place for such a batsman in the T20 side in every team. Pak seems to have a factory of such batsmen. Having said that Babar is probably the most premium product from the factory; he is a Ferrari in that context to the rest who are Toyotas at best. Right now he is indispensable but there is always a alternative.

With Rizwan it’s a different case; there is no keeper-bat in Pak in the same stratosphere. How is this guys place in jeopardy is beyond me.

Our wicketkeepers after Rizwan are:

Azam Khan...won't even dignify it with a response
Usman Khan....UAE reject tullar not fit to tie Rizwan's shoelaces
Mo Harris....most promising of the lot but turned out to be a UAE/Oman basher

We have no choice but to go back to Rizwan. Pak needs Rizwan more than Rizwan needs Pak. If Rizwan retires today, he can make a better living playing T20 leagues all around the world. In BBL there is a massive craze for Rizwan. Pak will be left with duds like Azam and Usman who will score 5(2) and fumble 50 times in one innings.

It's likes you speak my mind :ik

“Mohammad Rizwan so far in the BBL 2025-26 :

- 4 (10)
- 32 (26)
- 16 (12)
- 6 (10)
- 41 (38)

Intent master has a strike rate of 103.12 which is lowest for any batter in this edition with minimum 50 balls faced. Bro is a perfect example of playing ODI's in T20's. What a rare talent🫡

@topspin is it no surprise that the guys here who adamantly oppose the terms ‘intent’ and ‘modern day cricket’ are hardcore Rizwan fans?

Babar is showing a lot of intent with Sydney. Overall SR is a bit misleading because he has played according to the situation and won 2 matches for his side. King is back.

Please tell me what are Farhan, Fakhar, Salman and Usman Khan's average and strike rate compared to Babar Azam's in T20Is.

Do they score at double the speed and score runs consistently.

Thanks!

@BouncerGuy aakhir masla kya hai? Why are you guys, Amir Sohail+Ramiz Raja so against Intent? Why do you people think it doesn’t have a place in T20?

Things that will never be culturally accepted in countries:

Afghanistan: Women being allowed to openly manoeuvre in society

India: Pakistan and its people to be viewed as decent human beings

Pakistan: Batsmen who wish to put the team first and play fearlessly with intent and embrace modern day cricket adaptability.

Stop justifying him based on what others do. He has been downright terrible since his comeback, has got a plethora of ducks too against different opposition so it’s not as if he’s scoring slow only, he’s not even scoring those soft runs anymore.

Stop this agenda based rubbish, Pakistan cricket is bigger than this fraud.
