I posted screenshots proving its true but they were deleted. Her mother has tagged her previous ID in several tweets so it her unless it was hacked.
 
She made the comment a long time ago (allegedly).

Why is she being punished now? It was not like she killed somebody.

If she apologizes, that should be enough.

Dont think she was deported. Most likely she got sacked by Star Sports once her problematic tweets came to light

Its pretty common nowadays. In the West tv celebs get cancelled / sacked for racist / anti semitic posts

Ideally that should be the case. Remember after losing in Mohali 2011 Shahid Afridi said Hindus have lesser hearts. Imagine if in UK a top footballer made such comments about Jews or blacks - he wud be immediately suspended & disciplined. But in Pakistan such stuff are not considered wrong

Which is why Afridi keeps saying stuff like this. He also said women should not play cricket but only make biriyani. Again Pakistan is conservative nation - so such comments are tolerated. In India if Sachin or Kohli said his daughter should only stay in kitchen , there wud be massive outrage

Zainab messed up.

BCCI and Bharat took the correct decision asking her to leave, there are fanatical lunatics in bharat who probably would have harmed her and that would not have been a good look for Bharat or BCCI and despite what she said her safety still matter.

No need to insult other people's religion.

Her interactions with fans and cricket experts were shown in Star sports too. Even during Asia Cup she interacted with cricket experts on SS.

I hope not.

But this delay in apology from her side and the way the Pakistani media and some fans are shamelessly defending her without knowing the actuality and seriousness of the situation, it could jeopardise the situation for her.

The media and the fans are not realising they’re not helping her at all by defending her here. The more they put it on BCCI or Hindutva forces, the more serious backlash it will attract from our side.
 
Question. What was the TV employer doing before hiring ? Do they not do a BG check on the hires ? Especially in media - check their old posts history etc. And if anything controversial ask them to clarify or apologize or clear it up before hired ? And Visa was granted as well - so is BG not checked when granting visa ?

This is exactly why issuing visa to Pakistani residents is a very complex process.

Unfortunately people like Zainab, who are a minority, make it tougher for the rest of the good folks out there

So frankly not her fault then. Tweets were 9 or 10 years long time back. If an apology is issued - dont see a big problem. Not sure if the tweets are still active , but if they were already deleted a while back it's a non-issue for me. For Indian guys who say what if this happened in Pak or an Islamic country where the religious sentiments were insulted, FWIW India is officially a secular country and any of these should be dealt legally and not through threats or death warrants etc. I dont know guys , being in the US - anytime I see any extreme reactions from any nation or religion - it just makes me uncomfortable..
 
People were concerned about Pak players visas, I stated wait until the Hindu extremists start protesting.

There will be more saffron clad, yogi types extremists with more protests.

PCB must ensure their safety or bring the team and staff back.

I think that might be a bit too much to ask. Also, majority Pakistanis may not have enough of an issue with her comments to stop her earning her living there. At the end of the day she has to earn somewhere .

She left some time back. And some lawyer has filed a hate speech FIR against her. May have left on advice of her employers.

Most Indians now hold an extremist mindset, they are always looking for excuses. How many working for the BCCI or Indian media/sports programs have made worse statements but are still happy working.

If Pak had any self respect, they would return home.

Pakistan will be well within their rights to deport Deport Bhartiyas if they have made similar derogatory remarks against Islamic sacred figures. This is fair play.

Even many Hindu's don't understand Hinduism! Many Indian's themselves are saying this on Indian channels. There is no brainwashing in Ibrahamic beliefs at all. It is simply a case if take it or leave it as with every belief system. I see most Hindu's have no problem living in Muslim and Christian majority countries.

India has become toxic since Modi has taken over.

There is no doubt India has many brilliant minds, great personalities and wonderful people.

But because it's such a big nation there is a big number of absolute scum among them as well.

These days they are tweeting vile things about Israel/Palestine conflict even though they have no part in it. Neither they are jew, arab or muslim and yet they post disgusting stuff online.
 
I often come across Hindus attacking Islam, and the temptation is to reply in kind. As an anonymous person I do, but it's wrong to engage such idiots. If your in public eye, you need to relax and ignore

This is a flawed logic. Just because another country is secular you hold actions against them at lower standards while conveniently holding higher standards against Pakistan purely because of constitutional structure? So you expect others to be nice to you while you clutch at straws to justify showing hatred to others?

I'm vehemently against anyone who speaks bad of Pakistan or Islam but I also believe in calling a spade a spade and holding myself to the same standards that I hold others to.

If he gets a visa, the Pakistanis should allow him to stay and continue. Zainab isnt worried about not working in India, she was worried for her safety. Ghambir wouldn't have received such threats, Ive read rape threats online.

There will be more bro, sadly this isnt the end while this World Cup is ongoing.

I hope the PCB ensure fully safety of any Pakistanis in India working on cricket.

I am not condoning any threats, but it's simple.

Don't say or write such stuff, then you will not get threats or told to leave the nation that you have said/written such stuff about.

Tell me one statement that Gambhir has made against sacred islamic figures. Here Zainab was clearly mocking hindu goddess even mentioning Goddess Kali. You are yet to give one name that has made worse statement than Zainab. Indians are not angels hence we no longer show another cheek after being slapped on one.

The fact is that ICC has probably told her to leave as she no longer has a role to play at the World Cup, after her derogatory posts were discovered.

It's not just because she is Pakistani, so people should get over the chip on their shoulder.

ICC would have done the same if it was anyone working on this event.

ICC cannot order anyone to leave any country, only India can here. She left because of so many violent and rape threats and because she is Pakistanis, the hatred in India towards Pakistanis is immense.

Depends what you think is worse. Ghambir called Pakistan a terrorist nation, pretty much. Many other clowns too have done the same, only recently some low teir IPL clown said something against Islam, he's not banned and neither did he receive rape threats.

Completely agree. Afridi usually speaks in support of Kashmir which he is entitled to just like Gambhir does. Never heard him make a derogatory statement on Hinduism. Not sure what Shehzad has said. If its about asking Dilshan to convert then its a non-issue as Dilshan himself didn't take it seriously. Yup, Yash dayal too had his foot in the mouth moment. But all this could have been avoided if Zainab had put a post either denying that teh tweets were hers if she had,'t tweeted them or apologizing and expressing her regret as it was done 9 years ago when her world view was very narrow. Things would have stopped then and there. But her deafening silence only put more focus on the issue as it continued getting viral in social media.

Zainab is not the 1st person to be reprimanded for her Sm actions. Olli Robinson was suspended for a few matches too. Hardik and KL too were banned for a few matches for making male chauvinistic comments on a Tv show. I had liked her as she seemed like a sensible person which she rightly be now and not in 2013. If only she did teh damge control a few days back.

Not Gambhir. Various people in India have said so.

But none of them are going to Pakistan to ask for work.

India and Pakistan have hostile relationship. So political comments are going to come.

But insulting religion or race etc is totally different.

Mate, is making a comment against a country and against the prophet same? If Gambhir made teh comment on the prophet would you accept it? even Afridi has several times said India is performing atrocities on Kashmiris. No one in India made a huge deal on it. Gambhir and Afridi didn't make derogatory comments on religious figures. But Zainab clearly mocked a hindu goddess. That IPL guy deleted his tweets and apologized. All she needed to do was apologize and move forward.

I was told by one of my indian friend that india is so liberal so isn't it a fundamental human right to have freedom of speech in India?
 
Don’t think we’ll be seeing her for a long time. Mostly because of the fact she’s made quite a lot of Hindu friends whilst working with Sony and Star etc. She’ll probably want to stay out of the public eye for a good year or so.

I cant find any ICC statement confirming she was told to leave by them. They have only stated "“Zainab has not been deported, she has left for personal reasons,” an ICC spokesperson told PTI. "

India does not have absolute freedom of speech like Sweden etc. You cannot attack on any religion in the garb of freedom of speech. It will be counted as hate speech.

Some really good folks got cancelled for saying less, and here we have Zainab who crossed all boundaries and wrote stuff which is totally unacceptable and disgusting to read. I absolutely loved her and had so much respect for her, but not after this. She should apologize as soon as possible.
