I was surprised they sent in Shaheen as Musa showed he could bat when he shocked Lahore Qalanders.
Despite trying new faces i have the following comments/questions:
- First of why was Babar not playing in the super over with him being settled?
- Why was Iftikhar sent ahead of Haider Ali, the others i could understand i.e. Khushdil and Fakhar?
- Why did Khushdil not bowl a single over during the Zimbabwae innings?
- What was Rizwan trying to achieve with being 10 off of 26 balls?
- What was with the hero tactics from Iftikhar first ball of the super over and Khushdil looking to hit a ball that clearly isn't meant to be hit to the legside???
People called it and i agree that Khushdil is just a leg side hack and the 100 he scored in the National t20 cup was due to bad fielding and not skill. However, despite this negative thinking i think he needs to work with the batting coaches and discover that he does have more to offer other than playing everything towards the leg side. This was a great platform for him to prove himself and he's well sort of failed and it's saddening because he is fun to watch when he gets going. Overall, give him another 2 series and test him in the t20s as he still needs to prove himself. Skill gets built with experience not by one or 2 games.
Rizwan simple as he's not t20 or odi material and should be test only. Simple replace with Zeeshan Ashraf.
Musa was probably the hero and villian of this game, he lost us the game with his 10-0-80 but ultimately gave us a lifeline courtesy of that last ball 4.
Iftikhar he's had his chances and needs replacing with someone else if he doesn't prove himself in the next series. Leave it at that.
Fakhar is nothing more than a 15 minutes of fame player, he's had his time in the sun with the glory days of CT17 but now must go and replaced with Abdullah Shafique. Fakhar and Abid are far too slow.
