Shoaib Akhtar speaking during an interview on a TV Channel:

"There will be back-channel talks. Even in days of war, there is a back channel talk. We should not lose hope. We have to look forward to a solution. We know a fact that 95-98 percent of sponsorship for ICC comes from India."

"If Pakistan fails to convince India to come to Pakistan, then two things will happen: Pakistan will lose about 100 million dollars of the sponsorship that will go to ICC and the host country will earn. Second, it would be better if India comes and plays in Pakistan. But it's really, really up to the government. It has nothing to do with BCCI."

"Virat Kohli is trying to play in Pakistan for the first time. Pakistan wants to see Virat play in Pakistan. Imagine him scoring a century in Pakistan. It will be a full circle for him."

"Pakistan has got a tag that it cannot host big tournaments like the World Cup. If this (Champions Trophy) happens it will be a stepping stone for bigger events. I don't think this will happen. Keeping my fingers crossed. Wait till the last moment. I think currently, as of now, India is coming to Pakistan."

From 80 percent to 95-98 percent? Doesn’t matter though.

Like a poster suggested probably yesterday, world cricket will cease to exist if Pakistan refuses to play India in ICC events.

Back to reality, I hope PCB agrees with a hybrid model. Them pulling out would be akin to ‘kulhadi pe pair maar dena’ from their own perspective.

Not sure who told Shoaib that kohli is trying to come to Pakistan and play. Dreaming??
Tbf, kohli is friendly to pakistani's and he's pretty indifferent towards it.

It's a government issue, not kohli's issue.

He isn't enthusiastic but he is a professional. He won't care where he plays.

Cricket fans view players as bollywood heroes and villians. It's not that serious. The players themselves are indifferent

Thank you for your concern, but the decision on whether we move forward with a hybrid model or not is solely in our hands. While we appreciate your input, it’s ultimately up to Pakistan to decide what approach is best for our cricket and our priorities. We will make the decision independently, as we are the ones who understand the situation on the ground and what’s in the best interest of our team and the sport in our country.

Keeping egos aside, do you really believe PCB pulling out of the tournament would do any good to Pakistan cricket?

I first need to hear what's your desperation on having a hybrid model

On one hand, some of these Indians claim Pakistan matches are not important.

On the other hand, these same people act salty when Pakistan threaten to boycott India games.

These people are seriously confused.

you don't get it do you ? Pak are there just to make the numbers .... they are like the extras in the Film industry ... who dutifully show up when and where the producers and directors instruct them to do so. Else they dont get paid ... simple as. Deal with it.

It's not my desperation, it's BCCI that is refusing to go to Pakistan. I don't take decisions on behalf of the BCCI.

It seems like you're more eager than the BCCI, PCB, and ICC combined, judging by the number of posts you've made on the topic and your intense interest. Loving the obsession with Pakistan keep it up, buddy! 😂

Yet indians say pakistan don't matter

If Pakistan were merely there to make up the numbers, there wouldn’t be so much concern or discussion among Indians. The way you and your Indian friends are obsessively following and commenting on the matter speaks volumes. Clearly, Pakistan’s presence is enough to keep the conversations alive and the anxiety high.

If Pakistan truly didn’t matter, then after the BCCI made its announcement, you would have simply waited for the ICC to make its decision without giving it so much thought. But the consistent interest, debates, and comments from your side show that Pakistan’s role is far more significant than you might want to admit.

Can we stick to the topic???

Watch the title again before posting. No irrelevant posts now
