Should be a decent match up, New Zealand are missing some key players while the South African XI looks to be very threatening.

New Zealand (probable): 1 Jimmy Neesham, 2 Martin Guptill, 3 Dean Brownlie, 4 Brendon McCullum (capt), 5 Tom Latham, 6 Corey Anderson, 7 Luke Ronchi (wk), 8 Daniel Vettori, 9 Kyle Mills, 10 Mitchell McClenaghan, 11 Trent Boult/Matt Henry

South Africa (probable) 1 Hashim Amla, 2 Quinton de Kock (wk), 3 Faf du Plessis, 4 AB de Villiers (capt), 5 JP Duminy, 6 David Miller, 7 Ryan McLaren, 8 Vernon Philander, 9 Dale Steyn, 10 Morne Morkel, 11 Imran Tahir

Just under two and a half hours to go.

Should be interesting. How will the Blackcaps fare without key middle order players Williamson and Taylor?

Maiden by Steyn to start the proceedings.

Looking forward to this game, shame no Ross Taylor though, want to see what CJ can do also

Guptills been struggling since his remedial work to his technique for a while now...

Beautiful pitch and outfield! How many metres far are the boundaries? Aman

2(18)

The lack of intent from Guptill is frustrating.

Neesham now gone.

Neesham gone, he looked good out there though.

How long has Guptill been showing this form  We're going to miss Williamson and Taylor really badly...

Philtrundler should bowl 7/8 overs up front. No point in keep him for the middle and death overs.

Guptill hasn't done anything significant since the 180 in England just before the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Really good player though and his shots in the V are pretty remarkable.

How good is Brownlie? Worthy of representing NZ at 3?

Playing with 2 frontline pacers, I guess they're still unsure over who should be the starting spinner.

He's been scoring a load of runs on A tours.

I haven't seen much of him, but he's been racking up runs on tour games and A games...

Rossouw is a very good batsman. Will keep Miller on his toes in the long run. Should eventually replace Duminy in the Test team as well who isn't getting any better in that format.

Thoughts on the new uniform?

It's blue from behind...

Scored 100 against India as well.

Good prospect but had a horror start to his career. Needs to score here.

Hmmm. Taylor dominated that series though so his effort might have slipped under the radar.

Knew the jerseys looked different.

Liked the other ones better.

Commentators saying its a slow pitch. This is the first time they've played here right? Aman

Yep, Netherlands and Canada played the only other game there earlier this year.

Finals in 9 days and I'm up at 3 am watching NZ vs SA.

Cricket will ruin my life.

What was going through Guptills mind :)) Wasted a good 5 overs worth of balls. Didn't look like his innings were going to go anywhere.

Morkel always has a rubbish over up his sleeve. Really has no idea how to keep the pressure on the batsmen and put them on the back-foot. Has had a good career, but IMO he'd go down as a wasted talent. Could have been a legend had he had more aggression and control.

Losing the stability of Williamson and Taylor at 3 and 4 really exposes the lower middle order.

Yeah, McCullum being forced to do something that's not his role. Maybe they should have sent Latham first?

Surely Devcich would be hot on Guptill's heels? Looked really good to me in the CLT20 and pretty ideal for ODIs.

Morkel comes across as a friendly giant. Not as much as Irfan though.

Philander bowling some Jaffas.

Just as I type that McCullum launches him for six LOL
