true mec

you can hit non risky boundaries along the ground. Go for them.

Pitch is a beauty for batting. Looks like Indians probably want a run-fest and a draw !

the pitch will start to wear as the days go on hopefully (most Indian pitches do)

If we can make a good first innings score batting last will not be easy for the Indians.

agree Hash. Lets hope we can put runs on the board to put indians under pressure

well done Inzi!

Now go on and make a big one!

28.4 Harbhajan Singh to Inzamam-ul-Haq, FOUR, fifty! driven away to the
long-off boundary, what a way to bring up his half-century
what an innings! came in when the chips were down and played like a
true champion

thats lunch....

although we're not at 100/2 at lunch, it will still an excellent recovery after 7/2

LUNCH.....

93/2 (respectable position and good recovery from 7 for 2)

Inzi not out 55
Younis not out 29

Good partnership here of 86 runs. Keep going boys! I am going to try to sleep a bit.

If we can capitalise and bat for all of today and most of tomorrow..we have a good chance...as long as bowlers bowl their hearts out ..Not easy to take 20 wickets with our limited attack..

not little while w4s1m786, long while...id prefer these are still at the crease at the close of play today

Looks like Inzi is the man to bai us out yet again.
Anybody watch what happned to the openors???
How the hell did Yassir get out so cheaply, I thought he had something to prove so he would be very carefull.

"Thanks for that Taha..Now I have an Image of Inzy sitting by and slowly turning a skewered sehwag over the fire...with an apple in his mouth!!"

well i hope sami/arshad/kaneria have him for lunch definitely

^YEah but hopefully they wont have to worry about him till day 3 or after lunch day 2

As usual - lets hold these wickets until Tea - the toughest session where we always seem to lose wickets is coming up - we go thru this with no or 1 wicket lost - we are doing well

On another note, if this is a good batting track then Pak bowlers will also be put to the sword - lets hope the track deteriorates sufficiently for India batting last to have problems.

NO Excuses from Inzi he needs to stay there the whole day and at the minimum till tea. cant get out in 50s or 60s

Seems that he DID prove something....I am sure we will hear from fellow PPers over the next few days - but again, Test cricket gives you a 2nd chance to redeem oneself - hope Hameed takes his chance and proves that he is good.

manjrekar: "younis is a confident man, infact he winked to me on his way out that's how confident he is."

First he pinched the gora physio's nipples... now this... :-^

Is Younis from Peshawar ?

inzi has come out all guns blazing after lunch

pak 104/2 now...

inzi onto 65

I think there is some realization in Pak camp that the wicket will slow down as the match progresses - maybe they want to make the best of the scoring chances here.

run rate = 3.6 - not bad - just keep the wickets - runs will come...

really sad to see that folks here have lost all hope just because of the early two wickets...

Really good partnership I hope both of them go on to make a big ones Inshallah!

Inshallah he will lead us to another world cup victory in 07 and I for one would like to see him retire than top of his game! I would also like him to get 10,000 runs in both forms of the game as he has always wanted this so I pray he goes onto get this milestone he deserves that more than anyone else!

Inzi is playing real well lately (Shukar allah ka!) but seems like hes physically wearing.....i dont see him playing past WC2007.

Btw...what do you guyz think Pakistan need to score to win this test match in the first innings.

I say atleast 550-600

During the toss....Shastri was asking Inzi how he felt on playing his 100th test match. His answer was simply that he wished pakistan played well and win this test match and that would make him happy. Kudos to Inzi and hope he gets 10000 test runs and is one player i never doubt

Inzi Zindabad

inzi gets far too much disrespect from a lot of people on here.

is the cricinfo guy a complete idiot who cannot tell the difference between inzi and YK or is there a mistake somewhere?

35.6 Balaji to Younis Khan, two runs, short outside the off stump,
Inzamam moves across a bit and cut it away into the gap between
point and cover, was hit hard into the ground, the point fielder
moving across was beaten by the bounce

35.4 Balaji to Younis Khan, FOUR, pitched up outside the off stump, Inzi
leans forward nicely into the shot and drives it away on the up to
the cover boundary, top shot!

"These Indians are bowling like fools - in my time I would bowl to the batsman and see what happenzzzz......"

seriously listening to amir sohail is scary he is making me feel like the bowler is going to take a wicket any second.

Inzi seems to have Balaji wrapped right around his little finegr

Yes Bala hasn't done much wrong it is simply that inzi is in supreme touch. As I write Inzi comes down the track and lofts Kumble for a 6.

is it just me or does YK have a habit of hitting good shots, but straight to fielders? Has he been doing it a lot on this innings?

I feel for Aamir - he seems to be playing with controlled agression today.... I wonder if he is welcome in the dressing room anymore ?

marooned- pray that it breaks up. It is only day 1.

can someone please get this amir dude to shut up his not even giving little bit of credit to either inzi or younis...***??

well he is leading from the front today.

No better way to captain a side than lead from the front!

by the way, after the 2nd test there wer some people disrespecting his batting, saying he choked when we needed him to score big.

don't tell me you had anything to do with amir being not allowed into the dressing room??

I saw another one here on PP a certain thread being locked by a certain mod :oD :oD [you'll never be forgiven...o well you did do a good job my merging the other thread maybe next time!]

Inzi onto 91!

I don't know if I can handle the tension! And I'm only following on cricinfo!

I was very disappointed to see that...I really feel for this guy!!

True. First thing first...get 550

There u guys go again that wat happend in the second test when everyone was a eyeing a big lead rather than make indias target their primary goal.

Play session by session here.If they have set their eyes on a big total they gona get themselves under pressure

what is wrong with amir why da hell is he expecting inzi to play a bad shot? or he keeps saying the ball will swing now and he will get out...I mean is he crazy or what and ppl actually want to listen to what this sad sad person has to say

He has in this inning to an extent I guess. But it's also a little to do with talent....the most gifted of players can make those slight adjustments very late in order to avoid the fielders.

Nothing wrong with setting targets. But of course you take it session by session.

Excellent 50 by Younis Khan. I hope we have got our solid one down batsman for long time now.

obviously a 100 would be nice but he seems to be batting very well. I'd like a big one!
