Yep. Its been a Nonexistent Title challenge. Whilst injuries has derailed you Gooners, in general it's been self inflicted Ordinary Performances in key games to put pressure back on the scousers that have proven Arteta has not learned from his previous mistakes.

Having said that, if he succeeds in winning the Champions league, then I guess, all is forgiven, and his tenure will carry on.

Winning in Europe would salvage an otherwise failed season.

If Arsenal failed to win CL, most of the fan base would make excuses and say its progress.

At the time of the September 2023 league game between spurs and Liverpool being played this was the league table before the game

Liverpool were in 2nd place, spurs were in 4th.

Did I back spurs to win? No I didn't. If two sides were above Arsenal, then the best result would have both teams dropping points. I certainly wasn't going to beg for a spurs win.

So theres context to put the nonsense to rest.

On a separate note, you know why I didn't back spurs in the man city game?

For the following reasons

1) I hate spurs and would never back them to win a game
2) they are a bunch of bottle jobs, who can't even do things for themselves. Let alone someone else
3) I said at start of 23/24 season that going into last 9 games, City would more than likely win all of them
4) me and you went back and forth on who would win title and I told you city wouldn't drop points, yet you were adamant they might vs brighton or spurs
5) City had won 3 titles were they put together huge runs of wins at end of season

So with

- man city being so good having proven pedigree, the fact they were in form
- spurs being bottle jobs
- spurs being Arsenal rivals

the probability of man city dropping points was low. On top of the fact my view at start of season and end was the same. The reality was Liverpool and Arsenal were only going to be realistic teams good enough to take something of man city at back end of season.

If you know that the probability of something is so low, as well as you hatkn a team like spurs. Your not going to even bother think thar it's an opportunity

yet you seem to think that every football fan would have wanted spurs to win

The underlying facts, history etc . Showed it wasn't going to happen

If you didn't want any opposition to drop points against a team you are going head to head with for a prize then you have unreal expectations that your team will win every game every single time. That's not how a league works.

I dont see it as supporting Spurs to win - I see it as wanting Man City in this case dropping points against whoever they'd play. Whether its Spurs United or Southampton. That does not make you a supporter of that team.

If somebody asked me chose Spurs get 3 points and Arsenal win the league
