Yes yesterday was a hard watch. With the win at former rivals utd in the bag now, looking forward to collecting another three points at leeds.

Utd, on the other hand, still looking for a keeper, cb and cm. Their best player from previous years, bruno, is playing out of position and their manager is already on sack watch. It’s tough out there being a utd fan.
 
First game , poor performance but 3 points. A long way to go.

Arsenal come to Anfield soon, beat the champions and will be favourites for the League. Easy..nothing to worry about for Arsenal fans esp those who never go to a game.

Liv won the league without the signings and now with the new signings, people have crowned them champions already. Makes sense.

Liverpool’s performance last season caught everyone by surprise. Most analysts had said that the side had lost its steam and the likes of Virgil, Salah and Trent didnt have it anymore.

Well last season they won without spending and now with the ridiculous spending this summer, Liv may become unbeatable. Arteta and assna already have a mental block when it comes to Liv. Hence why he played the Anfield music at practice.

City looked really good in match 1 and tbh had a good finish to the last season as well. I wonder what the injury situation with Rodri is.

Rodri should be back next month from what I've read.

City and Liverpool will improve(squad) no doubt so Arsenal must match this too.

The issue is Slot and Pep are better managers than Arteta, is he willing to adapt or change his tactics? Arteta feels if going 1-0 up, no need to press anymore making him defensive at times. Teams then if equalise makes it difficult to get the win.

We focus on 🏆. This is your best Arsenal side since Henry and co, yet you cant win anything. It has to change this year or Arteta will be seen as the biggest managerial flop in the modern era. The pressure is on him to win.

Great point. United fans like to banter Arteta for the money he has spent ( rightly so) however seem blind that their new manager has spent £220 million I believe since he arrived in less than 12 months. At a club like United his record so far has been pathetic and it better improve. I think it will as it cant get worse.

United will do OK this season but OK is not good enough for a club like United. They should not be satisfied by "honorable" defeats to the likes of Arsenal especially if you were to total up the cost of their squad yesterday.

For me this is not Amorim vs Arteta. I follow Utd as an Arsenal fan.

I don’t dislike Amorim but here’s a brief recap.

-Utd were on verge of sacking ten Hag
-had almost confirmed to Amorim who had also most likely let sporting know
-out of no where Ten Hag wins FA cup
-their supporters start screaming ‘yay trophies’
-Utd owners change their plans and retain ten Hag
-tell Amorim that he’s no longer in
-Amorim now has to face the embarrassment of telling sporting he’s staying and starts new season
-Ten Hag continues to do poorly into new season in the league
-Utd sack him
-Force Amorim to quit sporting mid year by giving him an ultimatum
-Amorim leaves sporting embarrassed
-starts new job on a backfoot unprepared
-does poorly and says some unnecessary stuff

End of season 1

Season 2: first match after spending so much and really this was utd at home facing Arsenal, their boys should have won this and honestly the good performance was because of the context but still couldn’t win it.

I hope I am not going to offend utd supporters but trust me I have seen their journey, their unparalleled success and their struggles.

The way utd got Amorim was just bad and gave him a poorly executed intro to club

Season 2 folks are gonna raise questions after the money spent, at Old Trafford vs Arsenal, this was actually an inspired performance but is it good enough?

Amorim should have spent the kitty a bit more balanced as @Mamoon said.

Of course Jesus is going no where. Not even Saudi clubs will be stupid enough to pay his 250k wages. Arsenal are goinv to have to let him run his contract down and accept a loss. Arsenal need a game changer on left wing. Jesus isn't that guy.

Liverpool and City are likely to buy themselves more fire power before window closes. Chelsea look like they will add creativity to their team (although the lack of Decent CBs or keeper means they won't be in title race).

Gyokores looked poor and isolated against united. I hope he’ll come good but I don’t think Arteta uses a central striker to great effect. Arsenals main threat will come from out wide, the striker will be expected to hold up the ball, drop deep. I think it would take an absolute insane generational talent to get Arteta to accommodate. Like what pep had with Haaland. I feel Gyokores unless he gets some good form early on in terms of goals, will be used more and more like Havertz is.

I think a new winger would have been better. Rodrygo would have been class. I think the centrals striker is overrated a bit in modern football, and even more so in a set up like Arteta’s.

I think these two are the biggest issue Oodegaard and Martinelli. Havertz for all the hate while I don’t think he’s particularly good, he carries out Arteta’s tactics pretty well for what he wants his central striker to do.

I think it’s also possible one players bad form has an effect on the other. Maybe if you get a better winger than Martinelli, oodegaard’s form recovers, giving him more options than overloading Saka. On the other hand you could argue a better replacement for Oodegaard could renew Martinelli’s form too. Of course they could both be bad. But at least you could work out which or both were the problem. But it’s the same set up this season (attacking wise) and could well be the same problems. A central striker upgrade doesn’t do that, he’s still just going to be isolated if the wingers/midfield aren’t performing or the tactics aren’t working. It feels we are addressing the main issues in the team going forward, more just the cherry on the top at the end. As long as either the winger or midfield is an issue, I don’t think the central striker makes much difference.

Arsenal have been consistent, I don’t remember the last time they lost to a top six team. 4-1 vs City?

They don’t have the dynamism of Liverpool and City. Very functional players who are very rigid in Artetas system.
 
So Liverpool, Man city continue selling fringe and unwanted players for good transfer fees. As usual the deadwood remains at Arsenal. Other clubs arent stupid enough to want to pay the high wages that Arsenal have given these players. Not even Berta can fix the mess Arteta and Edu created, when it comes to player sales

I heard its the same terms just a pay rise. Not an extension as such.

We really are a odd club aren't we.

I'm not mad at Trossard staying if we were to get a proper LW and upgrade. He's an adequate squad player but seems we are going leave that left side short.

Come May.... We would have won the league if we bought a LW. Phase 77 should address and we can win the league.

I am happy to see Trossard stay. He is a quality little player, but I really hope this doesn’t mean there will be no new additions this window.

I've also heard the club is looking to extend Jesus contract as well, once he's back from injury. As he's supposedly good pro in the dressing room. This is the level of stupidly at this club.

Pep sends grealish out on loan, looks to sell savinho, sells McAtee

Slot gets rid of nunez, quansah, doak, Diaz etc.

Here we are offering contract extensions to trossard and also Zinchenko

That's the difference between ruthless managers getting rid of players, and a manager retaining players as they are good little obident dogs for master mikel

Spurs have now signed khudus, paulinha and soon eze, all 3 of those would have improved the lack of creativity in this squad

He's too slow and about to turn 31 in December! I think a contract extension has been offered so the club doesn't have to worry about spending on a superior replacement.
 
We've got our LW signing. Everyone knew the Madueke signing would cripple us but we got told we are cry baby Arsenal fans.

We were told he is back up to Saka. As if we would spend that much money on a back up.

He is a back up because he's not good enough to be at the level we need.

We got our rivals spending massive. Pool win the league and spend wild.

We don't spend in January because the summer will be big. What did Mikel say.... Goosebumps.

Madueke is younger, 52M transfer to be paid over 5 years is easier of FFP. Plus Chelsea owners have nudes of Arteta so he keeps buying their players.

Eze release clause had 2 be paid in 3 installments 23M per year. Arsenal wage bill and poor transfers has meant Arsenal had to be smart with their finances.

This is why rodrygo won't be signed as he wants 300K a week, Arsenal didn't want disharmony in dressing room, As Artetas 2 retarded donkeys havertz and Jesus might cry over pay.

Also Nwaneri would have wanted assurance over game time before signing a new contract, so another reason why eze wasn't signed

Yep. We at UTD have exactly the same issue. Average players with hugely inflated wages eventually leads to a toxic environment.

The players refuse to move, which leads to issues for the club moving these Donkeys on. Can become a hot mess.

I agree with all your points here except the one in bold. Do you really think Arteta has a say on financials? (wages, transfer fees and other contract terms).

Believe me, I've made my mind up and I've decided it's time for him to be sacked because there is no hope. I repeat no hope of this squad winning the PL or CL with the likes of Odegaard (as CAM and captain), Martinelli and Madueke in the squad.

As pointed out by @ads101 , upgrading both Martinelli and Odegaard were far more pressing issues than signing a CF.

In the front 4, we needed a CF, LW and CAM. In an ideal world, Gyokeres, Rodrygo and Eze would've been ideal.

Sticking with a similar budget of £100-120m for the front 4, I would've preferred Rodrygo or Eze + Delap over Gyokeres and Madueke.

Unfortunately it's the same story where Arsenal are at least 1-2 major upgrades away from winning the title.

The way I see it, Arteta had his best chance in 23/24.If you look at our 4 best players (Saka, Rice, Saliba and Gabriel), 2 of them played all 38 games. One played 35 games and the other 36 games. Our next best player was Odegaard and he played 35 games. Arteta had a fully fit squad but ruined it by playing Havertz as a number 8 in the first half of that season. This is where the points were lost.

Had we kept Xhaka or found an adequate replacement for him, I'm pretty sure we would've won the title. I still miss Xhaka in the number 8 position. He's still much better than Merino, who is Rice's backup.

I agree. Last season was possibly your best chance to win it.

However you failed to win it was due to lack of winning mentality in the side.

Scousers had Salah, VVD, Allison. A critical spine of Major winners and winning mentality.

I'm referring to the season before last season. In that season, Arsenal had managed just 40 points in the first half of the season and then managed to get 49 points in the second half of that season.

Last season was not winnable for the following reasons:

  • Lack of spending in last summer's transfer window
  • Injuries and lack of squad depth
  • Arsenal were not getting the rub of the green with refereeing decisions and there were on the receiving end of some poor decisions.
 
We just changed our cm from Partey to Zubimendi, you guys all know how significant the position is and how different their styles are

We also changed from Havertz to Gyokeres, again key position and completely different styles

It was the opening game, away at OT.

So that explains why we looked so disjointed and couldn’t put two passes together

I agree Madueke is not the one and if he and Trossard are going to be competing for LW with Martinelli then maybe Arsenal won’t be competing at the level we want, considering how much lethal city and Liv look this year.

Jesus btw is still young if he can stay fit and as someone said play on the left.

He is the highest paid employee at the club. Of course he has a major say in the signings and anything related to them etc.

He has turned into a mouth piece for the club. Last season it was " We are short" this season after 1 numeric addition I heard him say other day " I am very pleased with what we have done".

Let me guess - that came out soon after he was in the news for scoring after being racially abused. So basically he was trending. So what will these so called accounts do on X. They will engagement farm and prey on desperate Arsenal fans.

Who will it be next week - my guess is Gordon if he does well against Liverpool.

If you look at the speed of how long its took to sign some of our players it will tell you who have been our targets all along.
Noorgard, Kepa, Mosquera, Madueke were all wrapped pretty quick considering how Arsenal move. Gyokores took longer as Arteta wanted Sesko.

11 days left to do what bro? buy a LW? Madueke has played on the left every time he has played. Trossard has signed a new deal and Martinelli is not going anywhere.

We live in hope as you there is still time but don't hold your breath.

If you look at the speed of how long its took to sign some of our players it will tell you who have been our targets all along.
Noorgard, Kepa, Mosquera, Madueke were all wrapped pretty quick considering how Arsenal move. Gyokores took longer as Arteta wanted Sesko.

11 days left to do what bro? buy a LW? Madueke has played on the left every time he has played. Trossard has signed a new deal and Martinelli is not going anywhere.

We live in hope as you there is still time but don't hold your breath.

All I am saying is that things move at a blazing speed in the last week of the window. A lot can happen and I would wait to see if anything happens before criticizing the club.

Of course and I agree with you. I will take it all back if we do something big before the window ends. But if the past is anything to go by then in Arteta's words I am not getting goosebumps.
 
So looks like Hench Havertz put to much muscle on and now his knees have given way. If this doesn't force arsenal to act I don't know what will
