Arsenal FC | 2025/26 Season

@Obaidd

Completely agree. Great to see a proper fan who doesn’t have a toxic agenda and isn’t moaning all the time. Arsenal fans are the ungrateful and whiny fans in the world.

The club is at a fantastic place right now and absolutely ready to win big things. How can anyone who lived through the 2006-2021 period not be happy with where the club is right now is beyond me.
Thanks @Mamoon you have been a huge influence on shaping my cricket views and I am glad my thought process resonates with you when it comes to Arsenal as well.

The club might be ready to win but I am going to support them even if they don’t. That’s the level of trust Arteta has built for himself as far as I am concerned.

I am not gonna lambast my team, call Arteta a clown, Havertz a donkey and wish injury to Odegaard if they ain’t no. 1

After all this team and this manager has done, they deserve a lot more respect than they get. I won’t let the 5-10 point difference at the end of an year take away from how much we have achieved.

Well done for getting happiness from not winning trophies.

Maybe take up supporting Glasgow Rangers and you can celebrate 2nd places finished with another team as well

Big clubs are big clubs based on trophies won, not 2nd place finishes.

Maybe ask for membership from Peshawar branch of the Arteta cheerleader association as well, im sure there are plenty of boxes of fireworks to let off.
Absolutely. Coming second takes a lot of winning and I am going to enjoy each duel won, set piece converted, clean sheet kept, each celebration. I am also going to be a part of the tough moments. I am not gonna take coming second for granted and live an imaginary sense of glory owed to me. My fanship is rooted in reality.

At the end of the day, being a fan of a club means different things to different people. I respect your perspective and also acknowledge that champions must have some sort of championship mindset.

I don’t have that mindset and I am happy with what my team is achieving currently.

I would like to add that although the OTT toxicity (mainly triggered by AFTV scum) was uncalled for, it was time for Wenger to leave.

Post 2012, the club had the financial muscle to compete and Wenger spent quite a bit of money in his last 5 years but mainly on poor players or players who weren’t the right fit.

He should have won a league title in that period or at least had Arsenal completely properly. Surrendering the league to Leicester when the gap was only 1 point in February was the final nail.
Couldn’t bear Troopz and co disrespecting my legend.

The OTT toxicity didn’t make sense then because Arsenal are not some team where the fan base could say we demand success like RM or Barca or Bayern could. We were never there and it’s not like we won something immediately after letting Wenger go. A club with zero CL wins should accept its place in the global context.

Any OTT toxicity at this time makes even less sense.

You support Arsenal , one of the biggest clubs in world football, in the top 10 for sure , along with City and Liverpool from England. You only are competing with 2 teams . You have a record net spend this season , higher than Liverpool. You have a manager in his 6th year.

If you’re still happy with 2nd after another season, this finale epic season , Netflix won’t be refunding bro!

I am not gonna get worked up at this stage of the season when we have conceded a single goal across competitions.

Seems like 2nd place finishes, points totals, goals conceded, number of arm waves by the captain, number of set pieces goals are what most of the delusionist in fan base what to celebrate. Because "lifes to short" and they want to cherish these moments.

No other fan base other Liverpool whilst klopp was in charge (1st few years) and Spurs when poch was in charge would come up with same level of nonsense in regardless to celebrating nonsical and comical parameters as so called sucsess

AJ I also learn from you. I could only wish I could talk about the technical stuff as well as you do. As I have said I have a lot of respect for old timer PPers.
Bhai, you've posted some very measured posts and respect your POV but for the older fans- Vieira, henry et al. And even before them- Arsenal should be winning titles and not be content with 2nd place finishes. Comparing to the barren spells is not what Arsenal were about and it is a shame of that was the new standard.

Hey man thanks. That’s the dream isn’t it but it’s not the reality. I am going to back the guy who got us in the conversation again.

Broadly speaking when it comes to Arteta, you have two sets of fans:

1. One of them wants Arteta to be retained if Arsenal fall short of winning the big two (PL and UCL) because no one before him has won the Champions League and no one before him has won the PL in the last 20 years, so they feel this is an unrealistic benchmark to set for a club which isn't quite as big as Real Madrid/Barcelona and etc.

2. The other set of fans will not accept anything less than a PL or UCL this season simply because Arteta has been backed more than any other manager after six years. Arsenal have spent a billion on the squad and he now has a top class Sporting Director in Berta. Even if you account for inflation, there is no doubt that Arteta has had way more funds to spend on signing players than any of his predecessors.

I fall under the second bracket because Arteta has undoubtedly been backed till the hilt. He has been bestowed with Berta, who has done an amazing job during the summer transfer window. The squad now has quality and depth to compete for the league and the champions league but only under the right manager.

The first bracket is a flawed position. Chelsea in 2005 were in their 50th year without winning the league. So by that logic why should Abramovic and the fans be so entitled? Since then, Chelsea have won 5 PL titles and 2 CLs. This is the difference in the mentality of Chelsea and Arsenal. Even during their transitional phase, they have recently won the CWC after exceeding everyone's expectations.

Arsenal may not be Real Madrid/Barcelona but they are still an elite football club and have been for many years, not just during the PL era but also well before I was born. There's a reason why back in 1982, Maradona wanted to play for Arsenal. Unfortunately this move was blocked by the FA at the time because they didn't want foreign players from outside Europe.

Everyone wants to get back to the good old days but we also have to be patient. The damage caused between 2006 and 2019 was going to take time to repair. Arteta had to rebuild not only the squad but also the culture and mentality of the football club after years and years of decay.

I am very confident that Arsenal are on th brink of success and the next few years will be reminiscent of the 98-2005 golden period under Wenger.
