What's new

Arsenal FC | 2025/26 Season

@Obaidd

Completely agree. Great to see a proper fan who doesn’t have a toxic agenda and isn’t moaning all the time. Arsenal fans are the ungrateful and whiny fans in the world.

The club is at a fantastic place right now and absolutely ready to win big things. How can anyone who lived through the 2006-2021 period not be happy with where the club is right now is beyond me.
Thanks @Mamoon you have been a huge influence on shaping my cricket views and I am glad my thought process resonates with you when it comes to Arsenal as well.

The club might be ready to win but I am going to support them even if they don’t. That’s the level of trust Arteta has built for himself as far as I am concerned.

I am not gonna lambast my team, call Arteta a clown, Havertz a donkey and wish injury to Odegaard if they ain’t no. 1

After all this team and this manager has done, they deserve a lot more respect than they get. I won’t let the 5-10 point difference at the end of an year take away from how much we have achieved.

Well done for getting happiness from not winning trophies.

Maybe take up supporting Glasgow Rangers and you can celebrate 2nd places finished with another team as well

Big clubs are big clubs based on trophies won, not 2nd place finishes.

Maybe ask for membership from Peshawar branch of the Arteta cheerleader association as well, im sure there are plenty of boxes of fireworks to let off.
Absolutely. Coming second takes a lot of winning and I am going to enjoy each duel won, set piece converted, clean sheet kept, each celebration. I am also going to be a part of the tough moments. I am not gonna take coming second for granted and live an imaginary sense of glory owed to me. My fanship is rooted in reality.

At the end of the day, being a fan of a club means different things to different people. I respect your perspective and also acknowledge that champions must have some sort of championship mindset.

I don’t have that mindset and I am happy with what my team is achieving currently.

I would like to add that although the OTT toxicity (mainly triggered by AFTV scum) was uncalled for, it was time for Wenger to leave.

Post 2012, the club had the financial muscle to compete and Wenger spent quite a bit of money in his last 5 years but mainly on poor players or players who weren’t the right fit.

He should have won a league title in that period or at least had Arsenal completely properly. Surrendering the league to Leicester when the gap was only 1 point in February was the final nail.
Couldn’t bear Troopz and co disrespecting my legend.

The OTT toxicity didn’t make sense then because Arsenal are not some team where the fan base could say we demand success like RM or Barca or Bayern could. We were never there and it’s not like we won something immediately after letting Wenger go. A club with zero CL wins should accept its place in the global context.

Any OTT toxicity at this time makes even less sense.

You support Arsenal , one of the biggest clubs in world football, in the top 10 for sure , along with City and Liverpool from England. You only are competing with 2 teams . You have a record net spend this season , higher than Liverpool. You have a manager in his 6th year.

If you’re still happy with 2nd after another season, this finale epic season , Netflix won’t be refunding bro!

I am not gonna get worked up at this stage of the season when we have conceded a single goal across competitions.

🤣🤣 sounds like Arteta cheerleader has an apprentice, just when you thought things cudnt get any more comical
AJ I also learn from you. I could only wish I could talk about the technical stuff as well as you do. As I have said I have a lot of respect for old timer PPers.

Seems like 2nd place finishes, points totals, goals conceded, number of arm waves by the captain, number of set pieces goals are what most of the delusionist in fan base what to celebrate. Because "lifes to short" and they want to cherish these moments.

No other fan base other Liverpool whilst klopp was in charge (1st few years) and Spurs when poch was in charge would come up with same level of nonsense in regardless to celebrating nonsical and comical parameters as so called sucsess

Bhai, you've posted some very measured posts and respect your POV but for the older fans- Vieira, henry et al. And even before them- Arsenal should be winning titles and not be content with 2nd place finishes. Comparing to the barren spells is not what Arsenal were about and it is a shame of that was the new standard.

Hey man thanks. That’s the dream isn’t it but it’s not the reality. I am going to back the guy who got us in the conversation again.

Broadly speaking when it comes to Arteta, you have two sets of fans:

1. One of them wants Arteta to be retained if Arsenal fall short of winning the big two (PL and UCL) because no one before him has won the Champions League and no one before him has won the PL in the last 20 years, so they feel this is an unrealistic benchmark to set for a club which isn't quite as big as Real Madrid/Barcelona and etc.

2. The other set of fans will not accept anything less than a PL or UCL this season simply because Arteta has been backed more than any other manager after six years. Arsenal have spent a billion on the squad and he now has a top class Sporting Director in Berta. Even if you account for inflation, there is no doubt that Arteta has had way more funds to spend on signing players than any of his predecessors.

I fall under the second bracket because Arteta has undoubtedly been backed till the hilt. He has been bestowed with Berta, who has done an amazing job during the summer transfer window. The squad now has quality and depth to compete for the league and the champions league but only under the right manager.

The first bracket is a flawed position. Chelsea in 2005 were in their 50th year without winning the league. So by that logic why should Abramovic and the fans be so entitled? Since then, Chelsea have won 5 PL titles and 2 CLs. This is the difference in the mentality of Chelsea and Arsenal. Even during their transitional phase, they have recently won the CWC after exceeding everyone's expectations.

Arsenal may not be Real Madrid/Barcelona but they are still an elite football club and have been for many years, not just during the PL era but also well before I was born. There's a reason why back in 1982, Maradona wanted to play for Arsenal. Unfortunately this move was blocked by the FA at the time because they didn't want foreign players from outside Europe.

Everyone wants to get back to the good old days but we also have to be patient. The damage caused between 2006 and 2019 was going to take time to repair. Arteta had to rebuild not only the squad but also the culture and mentality of the football club after years and years of decay.

I am very confident that Arsenal are on th brink of success and the next few years will be reminiscent of the 98-2005 golden period under Wenger.

@Obaidd

I tried to warn you 😂😂 you now have been as I predicted labelled.

You are now part of the Peshawar posse. 😂😂😂

Don't take it to heart when things don't go our way. You will be tagged at every opportunity and get dragged into the constant back and forth between the 2 senior figures on this thread.

Just keep enjoying Arsenal bro. 🫡

Let hope there are contingency plans from the Peshawar electric board today !

City have found some decent form but Arsenal are also in very good form . The home advantage will be massive imo . As long as Arsenal play with energy and attack from the kick off , they should take all 3 points . If City somehow score first early on it will be difficult to come back to win from a goal behind this time

Haha thanks I am enjoying the season so far and having a great time interacting with fellow gunners, pak fans and other fans.

More than likely I think this season is going to go my way. I am already good with second and if we win that’d be just lovely.

Not my starting 11.

I just hope for Mikels sake we win. A draw or defeat and the critics will be out and rightly so.

Let's see what happens. I hope a ref decision or something doesn't cause us to drop points as that will divert the attention from his starting 11.

Anyway let's see.. We should still win.

Damaged caused between 2006 and 2019 🤣🤣 usual retarded overexaggeration. Anyone would think Arsenal were in league one or two during this period. All this nonsense so Artetasexual cheerleading can be done.

Same clueless cheerleaders proclaiming Arsenal would win 2 titles in next 4 years in December 2023 or they would apologize. Now it's Arsenal will do well next few years..

Zero conviction bakwas, which will again end in dissapearing act at sumpoint during season

Just like the Liverpool game, most Arsenal fans were confident going into it.

I thought we would win by 2 goal margin 2-0 or 3-1.

Again the starting line up will make fans less confident now

Madueke will find it easy against O’Reilly if he plays well . Doku will double up but he’s often lazy tracking back . Saliba has to play well against an on form Haaland coming back from injury . Arteta will not press high early on it seems but imo should go fast out of the blocks , get the crowd hyped and will likely score .

Man city weak areas are the two full backs so, Arsenal need to get the ball into the channels and in behind. Biggest worry now is the lack of creativity in midfield. Also trossard rarely starts games well.

If this line up back fires its on the manager.

Where the fk was the midfield? Zubimendi? Rice? Merino?

Literally got opened like a can of beans

HT - City lead 1-0

Merino needs to come off at HT, as does trossard

Managers retarded team selection is to blame for that poor 1st half.

Huge improvement needed in 2nd half

Far too easy for city esp the goal , defence was asleep . Better towards the end of the half but city sat back .

Saka and Eze to come on for Trossard and merino , need to equalise quickly in order for 3 points

Awful from Merino, as you would expect from him in midfield.

Arteta starting him and Trossard over Nwaneri and Eze epitomises why he's failed to win the league.

The league is slipping away again.

Whether we still win this game or not from here, we ain't winning major trophies under this manager.

When you set up in a cowardly manner at home, against a Man city team which we know can be exposed at the back. That 1st half was no different to what we saw at Old Trafford and Anfield.

I messaged one of my mates yesterday who supports city - telling him, you ready for spanking Sunday. Instead we get this shower of **** in 1st half

All those attackers on bench and arteta decides on usual haram terrorist football

Brilliant goal ,pass to finish .

2 points dropped from both teams but Arsenal should have played the first half like the 2nd .

2 Points dropped.

This is all on the retard managers team selections. Set up not to lose.

Martinelli for 2nd time this week has salvaged something from Artetas incompetent tactics.

Arsenal will have to beat Newcastle next week.

Rubbish.. Picked a team to not lose. Didn't lose.
Cowardice starting line up. Practically threw away the 1st half
No shock really, pretty much playing not to lose and banking on subs to bale team out.

15M a year, 1BN, 6 years for this shower of ****

Stoke City, Burnley, Wimbledon fans wouldn't tolerate the shower of **** produced today from Arteta
Stoke City, Burnley, Wimbledon fans wouldn't tolerate the shower of **** produced today from Pep. There fixed.

What game were you watching? Pep was prime Pulis today.

That CM today were like crabs. Sideways, and backwards. To slow to move the ball forward.
Odegaard plays same crab side ways rubbish as well. Arsenal could xavi, iniesta and busquets in midfield and he would use same haram tactics

Onus was on Arsenal to win the game, yet manager set up not to lose.

City were there for taking and Arsenal played like cowards.

Same set up at Anfield, only difference is we scammed a point today

Midfield killed the game. Not Merino fault but he was getting sticky for doing his booker T impression with the spinerooni on the ball and passing backwards. Could hear the crowd saying pass it forward and groaning.
The game was there to win

If started Eze and used Martinelli confidence from midweek. We win that game and blow them away.

Title race over. Arteta needs to be sacked.
Lol nothing is over. It's 5 games. Yes it's worrying that he picks these lineups but maybe the 2nd half lineup will make him grow a pair.

Newcastle next week will pretty much be the same park the bus we have to deal with

3 Away games and we have set up to not lose.

Reality is we beat united with a keeper error.

Martinelli has bailed us a point here.

The lack of creativity in all 3 of this games and its no shock. Its all on manager.

The 1st half I saw vs bilbao, was same as well.

We won't be beating Newcastle next week if we play like this

🤣🤣 that booker T comments has killed it for me 🤣🤣🤣🤣

4 out of the last 5 games at SJP (4 PL and 1 LC) we have struggle to create chances and even have shots on goal.

Next week will be similar. Next week is now must win, after dropping points today

Great finish by Martinelli.. tears must be flowing in Peshawar 🤡🤡🤡🤡

Pls be patient , it’s in the bag unless the towel is thrown in .

You must be laughing all the way. Already a Gap beginning to open up.

Too early but looking at both teams today and Liverpool yet to come out of 2nd gear it wil take a lot of improvement from these two to put up a challenge. Other teams will need to beat Liverpool, at least 4 times now , possible in the premier league but 21 league titles is there for the taking

I am confident that Arsenal will win the league. This team has been very, very close since 2022 and the three areas that plagued them have all been addressed: (1) not having a killer in front of goal (2) weak depth (3) Martinelli as first choice LW.

There is almost no drop off in quality now if a first choice player is out. That’s huge.

Still confident?

It's not just about the 5 points lost after 5 games, it's how the team are playing and functioning under a manager who has the best squad depth in the league. He can't even get the team selection because he's so fixated on winning the tougher fixtures 1-0 with set piece goals.

Do you really think Arsenal are going to beat Newcastle next weekend with the way the team has been playing? If we drop points at SJP and Liverpool win, Arsenal will trail them by 7 points, surely you'd have to agree it's looking grim.

You are not beating Newc.

Usual deflecting tactics, how bout grow a pair and call out your retarded Messiahs tactics which cost Arsenal today

City came for a point and got it. I have never seen Pep set up so defensively, or have so less of the ball.

It was a disappointing performance from Arsenal because they created nothing from open play until Eze came on. He should have started instead of the donkey Rice who is getting on my nerves now.

I am reconsidering if he was worth £105m when Liverpool signed a superior midfielder in Gravenberch for £70m less in the same window.

What does Rice offer? It is time Arsenal fans have this conversation.

Hooking Madueke off at HT was a mistake too. He was once again Arsenal’s most lively player (🤡 @Amjid Javed).

When Odegaard is back, I want him and Eze in midfield with Zubimendi as the DM. It is time to send the £100m 🫏 to the bench.

I have lost my patience with him but it has been coming for a long time. @topspin
