What's new

Arsenal FC | 2025/26 Season

What’s happened to your star boy since he signed that contract..?
He didn't play today so can talk about him a different day.

He has not been the same since his injury and was in the red zone so he can't have excuses when he returns from his rest.

I'm glad you mentioned his contract. He needs to be performing on the pitch to warrant that salary but don't underestimate his value off it. I was abroad for a bit recently and the amount of Saka Arsenal and England shirts kids were wearing was way more than any other player by a mile.

I mean personally I only care about on the pitch but just putting a bit of context on the contract.

Is Arteta about to choke on all 4 fronts? Out of two cups in back to back games.

No one expected us to win a quadruple or even a treble but to lose to Southampton and the way we lost to City doesn't bode well for the rest of the season.

Is the weak mentality that we've seen from Arsenal under Artera in recent coming back to haunt them?
Our attack is non existent, even if you bring a back an out of form Saka and Gyokeres in, who usually gets staved of service.

I can see Bournemouth game being a draw and City beating us. Which will more then likely mean a slender lead going into last few games

Arsenal are literally depending on defence, Rice, zubi and set pieces to win games between now and end of season

Regardless of how season ends, a lot of players need to go and new ones come in

Kepa
White
Norgaard
Odegaard
Havertz
Merino
Jesus
Madueke
Trossard
Martinelli

Every single one of these players need to be gone in the summer.

The Arteta cheerleader 🧌 rambled on about Arteta normally doesn't pick players on sentiment.

Let keep playing havertz in midfield

Let's keep playing Jesus up front

Let's keep backing Odegaard

That's over 750K a week on 🐶 💩

Cheer up guys! It’s okay we’ll deal with this. No Arsenal supporter ever said we were going after the quadruple. It was a narrative built by the media and rival fans.

Yes the mannner of the two defeats and the elimination from two cups back to back hurts. It’s on the managaer more so than on the players. Arteta came up with undercooked and half baked ideas in both matches which is worrying. I am sure the players right now and the manager are under a lot of pressure. The emotional toll of these losses has been severe.

However, we are too close to glory to implode right now or to self-bash. This is our best chance to win the league which was our number 1 goal for this season. We can still do it. Back your team, coyg.

There will be time for self-hate at the end of the season. Let’s get behind our players and manager once again.

When Arsenal can put out their strongest 11 there seems to never be any issues, but as usual once the team has injuries or has to rotate the options look mediocre and manager clueless. 7 seasons into a job, 15M a year and can't manage squad under pressure been exposed again.

All the managers lil groupies and cheerleaders who were running their mouths a month ago and nowhere to be seen.

Wales captain and ex-Arsenal star Ramsey retires

Wales captain and former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has retired from professional football with immediate effect.

The 35-year-old, who had been without a club since leaving Mexican side Pumas UNAM last year, is now expected to pursue a career in coaching.

Ramsey retires as one of Wales' greatest players, scoring 21 goals in 86 appearances and representing his country at three major tournaments.

He played an integral role in Wales' historic run to the Euro 2016 semi-finals, earning a place in Uefa's team of the tournament.

Ramsey then played at Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup, Wales' first appearance in the finals stage of that competition for 64 years.

The skilful playmaker started his career at Cardiff City before a 2008 move to Arsenal, where he won three FA Cups - scoring the winning goal in two of those finals - during his 11 years with the Gunners.

Ramsey then had spells at Juventus and Nice as well as a loan at Rangers, helping them reach the 2022 Europa League final but missing a penalty in the shootout.

He also had a second stint at boyhood club Cardiff, where he had a short period as interim head coach at the end of last season.

Ramsey joined Pumas in the hope of staying fit enough to be able to play for Wales at this summer's World Cup had they qualified.

But having failed to find a new club since leaving Mexico, Ramsey has decided to call time on his playing career.

Get a grip Gooners. The title is still in your hands, and a very favorable draw in the Champions league knockouts. Got to be Positive.

What a borefest. Seems Arsenal have come to play for a draw. Switched over to the other QF.
I'll say it again. Why do you choose to watch a boring team?

2 european giants are playing at the same time with loads of superstars yet you decide to watch boring Arsenal?

Weird bunch

Because I hate Madrid. But had no other choice this evening.

Anyway perfect away result in the end

We take it
That was a very good victory.
Sporting haven't lost a game at home since August 2025 so it was always going to be a huge task...

It maybe been like watching paint dry but who cares... takng a lead back to the Emirates is a superb result...

Also, should give us more confidence going into the massive game against Bournemouth on Saturday

Tough game to watch because of how dire the football was but a good away performance from Arsenal overall. Fair play to Martinelli for delivering that ball and that was a sublime touch by Havertz to score that late goal. Good subs by Arteta.

Did anyone else notice how many fouls their LB (Araujo) was allowed to make without getting a yellow card?

Decent performance. Gut wrenching loss for Sporting going into the Emirates leg.

Because I hate Madrid. But had no other choice this evening.

You may hate Madrid but when Bayern And Real play you watch it as a football fan. Even I had it on the iPad. The amount of stars and fantastic footballers on display is what the champions league is all about.

Yet you chose Arsenal cos you hate real?!

Each to their own.

Its like me saying I'm gonna watch all the under card fights and then not watch the main event cos I hate Conor Mcgregor vs whichever other big game.... Make it make sense.

Ye he was at it all game. Ref was alrite on the whole tbh.

Bloody hell it’s not that deep. Sit down.

@Amjid Javed I think we’ve found another one, who needs transferring to KKWC’s intelligent forum for football talk. 🤣

I do not get it.... away in a QF in the Champions league- very few would go barca or psg style at the opposition. Priority is always a clean sheet and take it back home for the 2nd leg to finish it off!!

Arsenal did what they had to do, what i do not get, is people expecting Barca style of flair....!

It just proves how weird some of you Liverpool fans are.

You missed out on a classic UCL tie between 2 giants to watch the very team you call boring.

Like I said... Make it make sense.

Pretty poor performance but decent result. The attack continues to be a worry, it’s just so depressingly mediocre

Exactly... Well said.

Some people don't understand the concept of a 2 leg tie and the importance of staying in the tie when at home in the 2nd leg.

I watched most of it. Get over it now :stokes

Exactly.

Case in point:

Barca in copa del rey semis.

Lost first leg away to Atletico, 4-0n, being too open and not adapting, 2nd leg they won 3-0 and went out.

You have to pick your moments.

We have 2-3 major issues with Arteta in respect of the front 4:

- His inability to develop them because he plays his wingers and CAM far too deep in order to fit them in his conservative style of play and system. Saka is a good case point here.
- He hasn’t prioritised the pursuit of top tier talent like he has done in other areas of the pitch.
- Lastly, I think the Aubameyang episode still haunts him. It’s quite obvious to see that he would struggle to manage any attacking player with a big ego. For that reason I can’t see us making proper statement signings like Wenger did with when he signed Ozil and Sanchez.

Raya pretty much the reason that Arsenal got the result last night.

Still the huge issues in attack, going forward and that will have to improve. Can keep expecting keeper and defence alone to keep winning games. Definitely a better performance will be needed at weekend vs Bournemouth.

🤣🤣 maybe watching "boring Arsenal" numbs the pain of watching Liverpool who were going to be unstoppable and scary according to Mr "i am to intelligent to post on this forum"

The intelligent football guy who said Spurs were on their way up and so were Chelsea and that Arsenal would be the 3rd best team in London.

He said this on back of watching Spurs vs PSG which they ultimately lost.

Ironic he said that Arsenal would be the 3rd best team in London when in fact it's his beloved Liverpool who are currently the 3rd best team in the North West.

Brilliant.

Arsenal played attacking football in 2022/23. It’s not like Arteta can’t play attacking football. It was arguably the biggest bottle job in premier league history, no team has led the league for that long and not won the league. I think this loss hit Arsenal hard, it led to a shift towards controlling games first with defense. Less risk, lower chance to bottle.

The attack is the last thing to spend money on. Signings in attack are always more risky and expensive. A few bad expensive flops in attack can really mess up a team’s future recruitment. We’ve seen that in Chelsea and man united. Right now Man City and Liverpool are buying best in class in attack. Hopefully Arsenal will do the same in the future, and if Arsenal can get a title it will be much easier to recruit prime attacking talent. I think it doesn’t come down more to a manager’s reluctance, I don’t know why Arteta would refuse top class signings in attack. But I think the board are reluctant to potentially waste a lot of money on attacking players that have a high chance to flop.

Until that happens I think trying to win the league based on defense and injury cover is fine until those top class attacking signings have been made. I suspect next few transfer windows will focus far more on attack. Arguably recruitment is more important than the manager these days. Whether Arteta is there next season or not, I think Arsenal are building and improving their squad from season to season. It’s going in the right direction. The current quality of attackers is just not on the same realm compared to the top teams. Regardless of tactics, you can see it in their technical ability. When those attacking players of that sort of level are bought, I think we’ll improve even further. But it’s already very encouraging that Arsenal are already favourites for the title, deep in champions league even without those sort of standard of players. It shows room for improvement.

🤣🤣 so supposedly the board is reluctant to waste money on attackers, because of a high chance of floppin 🤣🤣🤣

So instead Arteta signed a bunch of failed Donkeys in Jesus, Havertz, Madueke etc. Won't be shocked if Arteta is sniffing around Phil Foden next.. his next project save a declining players career.

Because signing flops and salvaging their careers and putting them on 200k+ a week is better then signing big money players who "might flop" 🤣🤣

Big name attackers come with egos and usually want freedom to play. They aren't interested in recycling the ball and playing haram football.

Arteta has already shown he can't handle Maverick players like Auba. He simply wants good little obident timid little boys like haverz and Odegaard who say yes mikel, yes mikel..

Anyone thinking Arsenal are going to supposedly chance tact under a manager whose essential playing cowardly tactics, because he's **** the bed numerous times is deluding themselves.

Arsenal in 22/23 played with freedom, until the tactics were eventually exposed, as was Artetas inability to rotate under pressure. Something he still can't do, last 2 weeks are prime example of that. All those attackers barring Saka, outperformed there usual average performance levels. It was a conicendence that they all had a 1 season peak at same time. You look at the careers of Odegaard, havertz, Jesus, Martinelli and most of their output season upon season is average at best.

Most of these lame attackers are at end of the cycle. I'm Sure Alvarez and kava can wait to join and play as defensive wingers. Like when prime Auba was turned into a left wingback

That front 3 doesn't usually work. So let throw Havertz in to the ten. I do wonder What Mikel is thinking sometimes
If it works I don't care but it hasn't in the past

Hincapie coming off an injury and lack of left back options means Havitz in midfield again... otherwise I would have stuck MLS in midfield and then Havtiz/Gykores up front.

If team selected is not working, I would bring Hincapie on, shove MLS in midfield, and Havitz upfront.
Noni can then be replaced with Dowman if needed

I'm more worried about Saka and Timber... they haven't played in over two weeks and their injuries must be more serious then what they're letting on

As expected it's woeful. Change it now Mikel your job is on the line if you don't win this league.

Madueke awful
Havertz doesn't work in midfield
Gyokores starved of any service

Bournemouth are slick but play with a high line but we don't have the midfield to expose the transition...

Eze maybe? Even Trossard to play that reverse ball over the top.

Martinelli has been anonymous

To many below average players on that pitch.

Havertz Martinelli
Ben White is playing to many games so dropping off.

Madueke is just an awful player. The amount of times he dribbles the ball out of play is unreal.

A few shimmies and people are fooled

Get him off and sold

There has a been a pattern in games this season where we've conceded early in the 2nd half or scored. So first 15 mins of the 2nd half are crucial.

I don't think this is the worst we've been we just don't have the firepower with the people on the pitch to exploit them.

Weve got into some good spaces but fall flat

We desperately need Eze on the field here

Arsenal not clinical enough in the final 3rd, a lot of sloppiness at the back as well

I don't even think you can call it bottling it...
We've just been pathetic... every single player

There you go....

Hate to be that guy bro but are you mixing Bournemouth with somebody else cos not sure what form they have been in?

They have won 1 game in their last 6 ( mainly draws) and scored 1 goal in their last 4 matches. Hardly a team going for the win cos they cant put the ball into back of the net.

So you were saying?

It all comes down to the manager and his faith in average players. Who have proven they are not good enough.

Don't win it and you can leave. To be honest even if he does I think leave on a high.

Once again the Players are not performing when it really matters im afraid.
Managers blind faith in donkeys like Havertz, Madueke, Jesus etc.. exposed again

Anyone who continually starts games with players like Havertz and madueke when they arent good enough.. deserves the sack

Fancy getting booed by your home fans while being clear at the top.

Arteta is running out of time

Facts...

They haven't been in form. So I wasn't actually wrong

A team that’s unbeaten is what you call form, you were just dismissive of the fact they were good enough to cause problems but you don’t have to worry now, because “out of form” Bournemouth beat Arsenal lol.

It was only a matter time till Arsenal got exposed - Arteta has embedded so much insecurity that players don’t even know how to attack anymore. 9 point lead but the most insecure lead ever.

Pathetic

No creativity

Best goal keeper in the world tag seems to have gone to Raya's head... some brainless, pathetic, idiotic passes from him...

Every single player should hang his head in shame...

We have no plan B and every team knows how to set up against us...

All of this comes down to the players but above all, the manager

But. Bournemouths winner came from saliba and Zubimendi cat napping with a gaping hole opened for the Bournemouth player

Sure. If you say so.

Glad you were proved right?

Regardless of how rest of season goes this Manager and alot of the the so called forwards aka Donkeys need to go at end of the season
