This tourny is a farce. Save your tears people, it's not worth it. This isn't cricket. When 90% of your thoughts are about how to tackle rain, and the associated scenarios and stupid calculations, it stops being fun.

It is a different level of skill.

I’m gonna get murdered for this but if you put Malan, who is not one of the rockstars of the modern game and “King” Babar in the same lineup, Malan will outperform him most of the time.
Malan is better then Babar, I'm suprised people think otherwise, so is Johnny bairstow, jos butler, Ben Stokes etc.

It is clear that most players are in the team because of nepotism. I just can't believe in a cricket mad country these jokers are the best we have.

Pakistan struggling against spin. Wallalage such great find for SL, bowls consistently in the right areas. Why Pakistan ditched Imad Wasim? He is needed in the squad good left armer on Asian wickets need left arm spin!

I was thinking the exact same thing, watching Malan bat yesterday

The Lankans have spent more time trying to dry the outfield here than they did for two days in Pak v India lol

Opener got 50 and gave it away softly that was poor stuff. Needed to bat longer get 80 at least. When set got to take your team to a good total.

Nawaz has had no accountability and a wild free run in the team ever since Imad was axed. Imad is a more economical bowler while being in a different league with bat.

Both are of same level unfortunately. Neither good with ball nor with ball against quality teams.

We need Asif Ali in the team. At least he is capable of the odd great innings. He can get quick runs.

said it on other thread missing piece in fully fit Pak bowling is a good left arm spinner and by the looks of it Imad is the best left arm spinner option for Pak with lots of international experience!

As long as other teams don’t send their first choice players to play against Pakistan in bilateral white ball cricket, Pakistan will not be able to sort out itself.

We keep getting exposed in tournaments but all of it is forgotten when we feast on reserve players for the next 12 months.

Malan is proving to be one of the best batters in ODI format. Period. What Stokes did, many other English hitters can do. Malan has had a higher average and higher strike rate than even other English batters (against top 6 sides) since the last World Cup.

Very classy, technically good batsmen who has played quite a few knocks while surviving quality bowling and effortlessly accelerating afterwards.

It's shocking how England were considering dropping him for Brook when the likes of Moeen are playing in their top 6.

Please note that there will be too many surprises in coming worldcup as most of the teams played very little 50over cricket with each other in last 4 years. Its not only our fault.

Keep the scoreboard ticking boys, don't take unnecessary risks just yet.

This is where Pakistan need to be smart

Build your bench strength

Pakistan need to score 90 runs in remaining 12 over .
230 is very good score in 42 over .

Kusal Perera was very good in the LPL in the middle overs tackling spin btw

We need to preserve our wickets. Single a ball is okay for now.

11 overs to go and even 60 runs will take Pakistan close to 210. Should be enough to defend on this pitch.

If one of Riz or Iftikar goes berserk, Pak can even reach 230.

We can discuss Jay Shah, BCCI politics and bad scheduling until the next World Cup. However the crux of the matter is Pakistan's batsmen can look a million dollars cashing in on flat home tracks with pulled-in boundaries against weakened attacks.

Yet once there's any assistance for bowlers, the pressure is on, and the match situation requires a more nuanced approach - these inflated averages are exposed and same batsmen look like deers in the headlights.

Look at the T20 World Cup Final. Hell, look at the Zimbabwe game we lost. Even in white-ball cricket - a batsman still requires a solid technical base. Ben Stokes can hit the ball miles but can absorb pressure if needed.

Fakhar has served Pakistan well in big occasions which I'll always be thankful for - but there's so many moving parts to his technique making consistency impossible. Abdullah Shafique is one of the best players of spin but he got out to a nothing short ball - and frankly could've been out three times before his dismissal.

Babar, the supposed #1 batsman, is not a bad player of spin but he's not close to Root or Kohli with his footwork or ability to milk the gaps. In handling pressure, he's another Mohammad Yousuf.

Rizwan fancies himself as good as any specialist bat but has no business in the top 4 - especially with the new Kookaburra that swings prodigiously. He's one of the most ungainly batsmen I've seen and induces panic with his running.

Iftikhar is another poor player of spin. Shadab and Nawaz are nothing batsmen only capable of the odd T20 cameo.

And the biggest travesty today - a T20 pinch-hitter batting in the top 5 who we've hyped as some AB de Villiers. Most of his shots are premeditated and doesn't have a technical base to fall back on.

The silver lining is Indian pitches should be flatter so our HTBs can breathe easier. But big questions regardless of today's result. Anyway back to the match.

But you cannot compare English Pitches with SL pitches. You cannot score 350+ in SL pitches.

Good observation by the commies. Ball is not spinning anymore.

Welllage is darting like Axar here.

Poor from chachu .after that boundry he should have taken single instead he played 3 dot balls

Minimum dot balls from here now. Have to get at least 5 or 6 every over before risk taking

This is not first choice XI for SL as well. They have collectively injury problem missing out a few players.

Loved Riz's reaction after six - love it
