Aus v Eng - Day 2 - 2nd Test

Paul Collingwood zindabad.....great performance from a man who wasn't suppose to be 'good enough'.

I would like Eng to rack up 700+! and see Aus chase it down !!

no....that would take too long! They won't want to make the same mistake the Indians did in 2004!

KP is not a great runner between the wickets before he almost got himself or coll out 3 times but all those times the throw missed

Impossible to get a result though unless the pitch changes drastically in the meantime.

The funny thing is, the Adelaide Oval is known for big scores - it's the second highest scoring ground in OZ after Hobart, but 93% of Tests here always have a result, and there's been only 1 draw in the last 15 matches.

But for us to get a result OZ will have to score at a RR of 4 or so as England only scored at a RR of 2.9 yesterday. The second innings scores should be a bit lower as the pitch will now get more variable.

Great innings from KP and Collywobble though, first class.

450 would've been the par score for this wicket, and they're already over that. Assuming they don't get out, they'll probably declare at 600.

This is the 3rd time that KP has made 158.
Twice against Australia.

England should get 500 and declare. GEt some overs and get going late at the Aussie batsmen while they are tired and ragged from two days of fielding.

Onus is on England to force a result.

As we all know, 400-600 type scores are easily overhauled by the Aussies. England need a 600+ score here to go on attack for a few days.

what an unlucky #...maybe he should start hopping when he gets to 158

actually he was trying to get a quick single and as luck would have it run out

it will be difficult since they lost their 6th wicket now

Good to see that Fletcher's favourite failing. Now hopefully the other one

Not really. By the time they get to 700 or whatever you want from them they'd have lost the chance of enforcing a result.

tomorrow he'll come out and say 'Jones sacrificed his wicket for the team'.....just watch!

England have lost 3/23.
A mini collapse I'd say.
We Aussie bowled have toiled hard today and finally got some results.

Clark has been impressive in the series espically with so many people wanting tait or johnson in place of him.

England need to bat fast, they are wasting too much time here. As they would b decleration today, so their score should b around 550 runs mark

Some firework from Flintoff needed

You mean in the last half an hour ?

good stroke by Gilo however i feel that KP's runout could be the difference between an English win and a draw

According to cricinfo.
One stat, spotted. "Incidentally," begins Andrew Miller, "McGrath has equalled his worst analysis in Test history. 0 for 86 ... against England, at Old Trafford last summer."

Maybe this is why Mcgrath isnt bowling.
6/517

DECLARE ALREADY! Are you playing for a draw!

I wonder if England are planning to declare tonight? They might not leave themselves with enough time to bowl out the OZ twice.

LOL the Pidge raises his hand to acclaim his "ton". :D

I would give them a 'nasty' 5 over session

What a shot and 550 up. With that the declaration is made

Kim Beasley is the head of the Australian Labor Party. A bit of a loser and his position has been challenged. About time too

Ok....For the openers this would not just be a test of skill but it would also be a test of stamina because both men are in their mid 30s and had been on the field for 2 long days!
