Australia (352/7) defeat India (286/10) by 66 runs in in a consolation win - India win series 2-1

This match reminds me very much of India vs Australia match here 3 years back. Dhawan just missed a 100. Then Rahul scored 80 and 50 odd balls. Starc went for 80 runs here. Zampa provided some control. India still made 340 . OZ made 300 before getting bowled out. Smith missed a 100. Bumrah 10 overs 30 runs on this pitch whhere seamer was taken apart.

Here is Australia easily can score 400 .14 over left and 261/3 is score

Australia has exactly the same problem as India. Finishers problem. Now that Maxie is in they don't have to worry. But we have to see how his injury holds up.

Personally gonna apologise to @ElRaja . He was right. Utterly pathetic and defensive captaincy by Rohit by continuously bowling finger spinners and not looking to attack with your best wrist spinner and another seamer. Cowardly captaincy.

Well he isn't a good test captain anyway. Average at best. Virat kohli is the better captain but Virat's only flaw is he makes some absurd selections at times on certain pitches.

Too good of a pitch, even a slight touch and the ball races away. Gill would have loved to bat here, another double ton was there for taking, but he needs rest as well.

Think india under lights will struggle today.

Somehow bumrah comes back. Class bowler. Even on a off day he still rebounds. But he needs to work on his ability to pick early wickets.

Hitman Sharma will score double ton today

Maxwell comes and goes, beautiful yorker by Bumrah

Rajkot pitch is better play under light but this is huge score so batter might throw wicket dus to run rate pressure

Indian fans here, does it get easier or hard to bat under lights in rajkot?

Bumrah 133 speed average
Must be hot today.

No. There is no way you bend your back on this pitch lol Useless. Faster you bowl faster you will travel on some pitches in India. This is one such pitch. You just have to be able to decieve batsmen by taking pitch out of the equation. There is nothing on this pitch.

Like manipulating speeds you mean? Switch pace around to confuse batsmen and force wickets?

It stays the same. Spinners may get some bite. But you can hunt down totals if the bowlers are not spot on. I still back OZ to win this one due to scoreboard pressure.

Yes bowl full with change of pace. Both Bumrah's wickets were to full balls. one yorker. One slow full ball. Once you bang it in then you just have to hope batsmen mistime it.

Siraj does that (wickets with new ball if conditions offer a bit) and there is Pandya who is very important to create chances in powerplay.

I dont get why players don't try this in tests too. Manipulating speeds would work even in tests. Change of pace. 140 to 130 and then one quick one at 150 etc.

If you misread the pitch and go with wrong combo in India you will be in for a serious leather hunt

Indian Bowlers are doing great job at death overs. Restricting Aussie Batters Beautifully.

AUS 303/6 (42.4/50 ov)

Why has Rohit under bowled kuldeep here? To prevent Aussies from having a good look at him? Or to protect him from getting hammered on a flatty and lose confidence before WC
Maybe he wants to try out Kuldeep at the death. The way Afghans try out with Rashid. But point to remember is, Rashid is a much quicker spinner who can escape the minor errors in line or length. Kuldeep is comparatively slower.

Fielders are going to be exhausted after being out in hot conditions. It definitely plays a role while batting. All fielders look worn out.

This Green is a timid guy. They better play Stoinis ahead of him. Can he inconsistent. But when Stoinis hits form he can inflict serious carnage.

Maxwell - spin batting all rounder
Green - fast bowling all rounder
Stoinis - medium pace all rounder
Marsh - medium pace all rounder

They have to pick only 2. All these guys can be taken apart by batsmen on good decks. Maxwell is probably more useful on some pitches with newish ball.

5 over left so Australia still can score 370-380. 5 over 60 runs is easily gettable on death overs

Another half centurion for Australia this time it's Marnus Labuschagne. 50 off 43 balls!

Australia must pick him if you ask me. Not all pitches are going to be like this. There may be surfaces their aggressive top order may not provide the start

Ravindra Jadeja vs Australia in ODIs
Matches: 42
Wickets: 34
Avg: 56.29
SR: 63.2
ER: 5.33

This was the 18th instance (from 39 innings) of him going wicketless against Australia in the format

It is generally a low key affair. Australia is also carrying selection dilemma
They have too many allrounder but don't have clear idea whome to play .I think maxi is ahead due to spin bowling allrounder but other choice between Green and Stoinis .

Siraj' front foot is not braced prior to release. He is capable of much faster speeds with more bounce if he braced his front foot. He loses a bit of speed due to his action

Marnus 72(57)
Pat 13( 18)

Marnus Labuschagne and Pat Cummins helping the team to get past 350-mark.

Labuschagne dismissed for 72 runs in 58 balls.Jasprit Bumrah picks the wicket.
