Should've brought on two pacers then. Even before that, he should've taken off Samuels after Starc was gone.
It was surprising that Holder didn't get to bowl.

Not sure why Hazlewood took the strike
Hussey, Rogers now Voges, leave it to Australia to produce batsmen at 30+ who start producing match-winning innings from game 1. A testament to their ridiculously strong FC cricket.
voges has just 25 centuries in 160 fc games. that's a shockingly low century tally.

Well I will just eat my words about Voges. Well done, this kid could be something.

35 year old super kid
out of curiosity why hasn't he been given a chance uptil now? its not like Aus didn't have a spot open.
secondly he has a pretty good ODI avg of 46 at a SR of 87 too. And he averaged 66 in his last 4 games too. Why was he dropped then in 2013? I didn't really follow him but I do remember him playing a few ODIs
What has happened to Haddin's test average? How did it get down to 33.7. Didn't it used to be 40+? Has he played on too long?

Hasn't played England for a while
Hazelwood. 6 Overs, 6 Runs, 1 wicket.
Windies for once showing some spine, and mighty Oz the world champions are being shown their worth in the real format, can't even get out a debutant and a fixer, such an overhyped bowling unit. If windies somehow get 200 lead than it's all Over for kings of playing spin, Oz. Go windies!
Dowrich to score a debut 100?![]()
Two dumb shots and two wickets.![]()
Typical W.I they seem to have the mental capcity to play test or ODI cricket.
As expected, Windies are a mentally shot side.
Poor captaincy and poor bowling at tail has pretty much cost W.I a chance of being competative in this match, the 1st inns lead they gifted away cost them the match.
Windies got back to back wickets of Johnson and Starc around 178. Bishoo injured his finger and had to leave the field for 5-6 overs. Instead of bringing two pacers from both sides, Ramdin brought on Samuels who leaked around 30 runs and released all the pressure. That's where they lost the game.West Indies didn't bowl particularly bad against the Australian tail enders. They just batted very well with Voges.
It was a good fightback till Dowrich and Samuels were there. After that, it was the customary laying down of the arms. Not really, this was a good fightback, they're just inexperienced.
