Australia comfortably placed on 346/5 at end of Day 1 of the 1st Test against Pakistan

Shaheen has been struggling with line and length since the Asia Cup. It's unclear whether this is a mental challenge or a skill-related issue.
 
Pak bowlers trundling and it’s still session-1 on Day-1.

Shaheen is the only bowler that looked like getting a wicket. The rest seem to be happy just for touring Australia.

He has regressed since returning from injury. Pace is down and the new ball swing deserted him.

Shardul is easily quicker than Jamal and Fahrem.
 
Pakistan as usual turned up to Australia with zero preparations. India prepared very well for the 2018 and 2021 series for months.
 
19 overs and 95 runs, that is not an ODI, it is a Test that I am talking about. Fabulous hitting.
 
Review taken out of desperation. Poor stuff from Shan, it is the captains job to discipline his team
 
100 up for Aus at a RR on 5+ on a grassy pitch. Great intent from them

Pakistan has the worst bowling attacks in one-day cricket and Test cricket among the test playing nations. Unfortunately, this disturbing fact is obscured by Pakistan’s frequent T20I matches where mediocre bowlers bowling 4-overs are hailed as the next big thing from Pakistan.

Don’t fall for the PSL hype, we are actually seeing the decline and death of Pakistan cricket. Sadly, this is the theme among many teams, especially Sri Lanka, Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh. Only India, Australia, England, New Zealand & South Africa are all-format competitive teams.

Injury, overplayed at numerous T20 leagues and lastly in my personal opinion complacency due to being overhyped so early in his career. He is clearly not the next Wasim, I'm afraid we are doing the same thing to young Naseem Shah.
It's so irritating and embarrassing listening to idiot commentators like Ravi Shastri gloating and going on about how Pakistan has trundlers for bowlers, the sad part is he's right.
 
Both Khawaja and Warner stand well outside the crease meaning they are not scared of their pace or bounce from Pakistan
 
ANother thing is to field on a big ground like this you need supreme fitness. It has a large playing field. It will deifnitely hamper them mentally as well.

Bro 122-132 is literally club level pace. Australian high school attacks bowl faster than 122. of course they are not scared
 
Babar smartly quit the captaincy. Masood is an unenviable position. At this age captaining in Australia against Australia on the back of 20 year bad record is such adifficult task
 
ATM, it is all too easy for these batters. Abdullah should have taken that catch. He made a comical drop. I don't know whether we should laugh at it or what.
 
Did Pakistan not get the length right at the start? In Perth you'd rather be shorter than fuller.

Pakistan ain't going to contain Australia within a reasonable total. The only way left for Pakistan will be to outbat Australia.
 
It’s shameful that Shaheen is having to bowl 10 overs before lunch on the first day. A strike bowler- not that he’s striking any yet - but still, he’s going to wear himself out in this Test and there are two more to go after this one.
 
1st session done with 117 on the board for Australia without losing any wicket.

The last time Pakistan won a test match in Australia was in 1995.

Alot of hate being thrown towards 2 debutants , Khurram and Jamal whereas they bowled the best.

The run leakers have been Shaheen and Faheem both bowling dross. Faheem 7 RPO, Shaheen 5 RPO.

At some point h needs to switch to right hand bowling to save his left hand from falling off.
 
Warner should break Lara's highest individual test record. 1.5 days is more than enough to bowled us twice.
 
Playing Faheem is criminal in any format. How this guy always finds his way in the XI is questionable.

Unfortunately true. Looks like T20 is the only format Pakistan can compete in these days.

He has one fluke century against ireland if i am not wrong back in 2021 or something. Thats why he is playing because of that knock

Haha. You are spot on. So we are worst than a minnow like zimbabwe now a days. I bet afghanistan would have played better than pakistan in australia.
 
its only pakistan who gives longer initial spells to front line fast bowlers. Shaheen and khurram bowled 6 or 7 overs each before a change. I mean when you have 4 fast bowlers better try all of them inside first 12 overs. I have seen almost all teams doing the same now a days but pakistan strategy is still stuck in 1980s and 1990s
 
Pakistan is still trying to find a template where they can take 20 wickets in Australia. At this point Pakistan just has to step up in their batting.

Ironically he has been worst. I just found out while Khurram (The Debutant) gave 3 runs in the first 3 overs. Shaheen gave 30 in his first 3.

This is not T20 cricket. You have to show discipline

It is a bowler's job to bowl long spells in the Red-ball format. Shaheen didn't bowl these overs consecutively but in 2-3 spells
Nothing wrong with that, he needs to take responsibility as other bowlers are inexperienced
 
Pakistan's rich tradition of bowling getting spanked in Aus continues.

I think Pakistan should focus on outbattling Aus to draw games. First session and bowlers are bolwing 120s KPH in this pitch with many hit me balls. Just bowl Mid 130s in right channel. That will trouble Aus a lot.

He often throws it away. To score a 400 or even 300 you need to concentrate longer enough. But yes he has perfect opportunity
 
Shaheen now bowing in early 130s. He has lost his pace and mojo. Without it he's no different than lets say Mir Hamza in pace
 
Warner batted out of his crease but still smashed the ball. He is still batting outside of his crease against our front-line pacers.
 
Commies say by Shaheen's own standard he let Pakistan down. I am not sure what his standard is. Are they still confused between formats?
