hussey retirement has really left them vulnerable. Plus starc not playing is not helping.

Starc bowled in the last test. He can't perform when the conditions are not in favour.

Brilliant partnership between Pujara and Vijay. This more or less seals the chance of Oz winning this test and its subsequent chance at winning the series.

We need at least 200 more runs in quick time (say less than 45 overs) tomorrow.

Sad day for Test cricket... What has happened to the Aussies?

Innings loss coming up.

Great day for test cricket.... Aussies getting the treatment they deserve!!!! How's the sledging boys or have your faces been shut up by the Indian bats your currently chewing on!!!

Great display of batting by India's world class batsmen lashing their way to a brown wash!! Go on boys

Aus spin bowlers are simply toothless.

India have this game in the bag. Pujara looks a class Test bat.

Mairay bhai on these conditions noone is performing..... what happened to them? its like they feel in a trap. they should have known it will be flat decks with only spinners to survive... they should have known they cant win matches on the likes of doherty or maxwell ( who is a part timer) .... quicks have no idea how to utilize those conditions.... they probably dont even know the word reverse swing which is the perfect answer to flat tracks .....

i will Reserve my judgments when they face south africa but yeah if india has any hopes on a player it should be this guy.....

Looks like everyone thinks It's australia who threw the match and not India who did something good :p anyways....I am also a bit bitter....Murali....another ton against aussies...hope he can get some form ...or he will be wasting a few youngster's futures in 2 years....

They are getting mullered! :)))

No better sight in cricket than to see that lot running around chasing leather. Come on India, grind them into the dirt....

I disagree. Test cricket needs a strong Australian team.

Starc has never actually replicated his white ball feats with the red ball, at any level. So far.

Jees we got hammered today.

Now that they dropped Lyon & Doherty is worse/no better do they go back to Lyon again next?

I am really mad Maxwell got a gig on this tour now, instead of O'Keefe whose domestic record is far, far better.

Yes, if you're Australian and believe it's your birthright - NO, what test cricket needs is a level competitive field where ALL teams get to show their prowess - rather than one-sided domination!

Idiotic move to drop Lyon. Sure he got hammered but he took some wickets. You can't do much when Dhoni is in that mood. Besides, his confidence must be shot now. One bad game and he is kicked out. Same will happen to Charles.

Aus need a good spin bowling coach. Few chat sessions with Warne won't do the job, get a good spin coach working full-time with tweakers.
Mushy showed how good it can be to have a SC spin coach in SC, their spinners bowled great length.
Here Aus spinners are clueless on what length to bowl at. Need to hire some one like Saqlain.

Looks like this was a good day of Test cricket to miss lol. I guess it goes without saying that's one of the worst days of Test cricket this team has played in the past couple of years. Ordinary batting, ineffectual bowling, poor body language.

Oh no the poor defenceless Aussies sob sob - what did they ever do to anyone to deserve such a BEATDOWN - please Mr Indian batsmen don't beat those nice Aussies any harder as they will start to cry and their families are watching on TV........... STICK IT TO THEM INDIA - ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree. Test cricket needs a strong Australian team.

For what? In 1985 they were the worst team in the world, yet cricket carried on. WI were in their golden age, PAK were really good, and the world had four great all-rounders. The Aussies will be back - they just need a few more batters.

Seriously though, it is refreshing to see and I'm sure in their own backyard the story will be very different!!!

Wait till India finishes their innings. They won't be scoring at the same rates tommorrow. Probably there will some aggression after tea. I see no reason why India must hurry or take any risks today having dismissed Australia cheaply on the first day. India must target getting to about 450 by 3rd day tea (and about 250 by the close of today) and they will have put themselves in a nearly unassailable position.

Now that they hit 311, they should target 500-550 by tea and declare. Of course, if they don't get bowled out.

Even i think we should make Aussies bat at least 25 overs on day 3 . 60-63 overs should be enough to get 200 more & declare with a lead of 275 .

Ideally we want to score at 4RPO tommorrow. I think it is possible on this pitch, and Dhoni is not going to be blocking around. That will put the Aussies on complete back foot with the only option of a draw - which they are not good doing.

If India don't want to bat again, and if they dont get bowled out. they will have bat till lunch on day 4, and give themselves 150 overs to bowl Australia out.

150 would be conservative imo . If we can bat whole day & score say 280, then surviving on day 4 & 5 with a lead of 350 would be kinda impossible .It is likely that by day 4 ,this pitch will really aid our spinners .

One of our two nightwatchman survived 3 full sessions.....
Assies must have been appalling today.

TBH, I will be happy if this nightwatchman continues to play such innings (at least in the games that are played in our home) in regular :)

Brilliant comeback for Vijay, did justice to his recall. And Pujara is back to his stuff!

Too early to feel sorry for Aus. It takes years for someone to make good test team, and we haven't even won the series.

Need to win this with showing authority.

The only thing that can save Aus now is rain. Without doubt the worst Aus side I have seen in my time.

They're still strong.

We're stronger :akhtar

at home

They're both weak teams. And England who beat India just a few months ago I would say are a very good side but not a great side either. India are going to get killed when they tour SA and Aus are likely going to get a pasting when they face England away.

its about pitches ....almost same side whitewashed india and sri lanka in aust....

Hussey makes a huuuuuge difference. He's the one who has been keeping Clarke company for some time now. Now it's all on Clarke's shoulders. Aus should have made 400+ on this wicket. I recall even NZ making around 350 here some time back against a better Indian attack.

Re: Australia tour of India, 2nd Test: India v Australia at Hyderabad (Deccan) | Day

Lol Australia is gone. India will get a 350 lead I think.

A whitewash in Eng is highly probable but I reckon Eng might even whitewash Aus in Aus this time around.

Sidney Morning Herald has a poll going:

Who will score more in the first innings?

Murali Vijay

Cheteshwar Pujara

Australia

Che Pujara is leading the poll at 64% :))

Rubbish. Australia'll win at the WACA as always. And one game in England will be ceded to rain and/or bad light.

Well done Australia! This is the sort of bowling effort that is truly inspiring. Might even beat the 500odd-1 at the Gabba.

STAT ATTACK

Against Aus. only.
This only time Aus. was able to take only one wicket for a day on a 2nd inning of the match.

That famous Cronje's and Hussain's declaration to force the result.

Che Pujara and Murali Vijay  But this only means that Murali Vijay gets to tour SA. I can see major pwnage one way or the other :yk

I think these matches are staged to undermine IPL and overvalue test matches. M.Vijay hitting a century on a pitch where Aussies were rounded up for 237!!! I'm not buying it. Sad day for modern(T20) cricket lovers.

Indian players both batsmen and bowlers should be looking to boost there personal averages against this pathetic looking Aussie team.

Even the poor team that India has been last 18 monta or so Should win this easy at home. Australia are like south africa of now they don't have an spinners to put up a fight against India/Pak and even Sri Lanka I would say.

When we make runs, Aus. is very poor side, when we don't make runs we are very poor side.

Kare toh kya kare
