Australia V England - 2nd test Adelaide (Day 1)

This batting has been killing me all night. For such a good pitch we are batting ridiculously slow. Hopefully it means the aussie bowlers can be given a "good workout" and are shattered for the 2nd innings.

finally 100 up in the 43rd over.
Look at the bright side, the run rate has increased since the lunch break....the scored roughly at a rate of 3.6 for past 10 overs.

collingwood is a real fighter out there for Eng. None of his shots bring the wow out of you but still gets the job done

Rob can you answer my question above since i think you got the answer :P cough

116/2 off 50. Kill me
look on the bright side, you're only two down and this is a decent base. KP and flintoff are still to come.

cough, nothing comes for free cough

you should really get that cough checked out...its not healthy. Anyways i got something now....good ole mates come through....

Think i'm going to bed at tea if these 2 are batting. Neither of them are doing enough to keep me watching.

50 for Bell now, another great innings. Both batsmen get 50 before tea :)

consecative fours for Kp as he cuts away warne and then gets a double.

10 runs in 3 balls,

Eng 217/3

KP down wicket slogs and gets leading edge which falls safe.

Aus 233/3 (80 overs)

loud shout for lbw. not given, new ball can be taken now.

Why dont we take the new ball?!?!
We could get a wicket or 2 before the close of play.

I'm sure Ponting would have batted if he'd won the toss. This is going to be a long couple of days chasing leather in the field for the OZ - looks like a typical Adelaide belter of a pitch, true bounce and great for batting, but still offers some sideways movement and a little bit of swing for the bowlers if they can take advantage of it (not a flat track in the classic sense but a true wicket which offers opportunities for both the bowlers and the batsmen). Patience is the key here.

Went to bed and just woke up to check the score. Like I said, it's going to be a long couple of days until we get to bat. England will be looking for a score of about 450-odd.

Lee is going at 4/over

You'd expect a bowler like Lee to go for runs. The problem is he doesn't take any wickets. That's why he's got such an ordinary Test average - he's a runs truck but he doesn't take any wickets.
