Running between the wickets for singles is the most fundamental aspect of batting. Before you learn to play your shots, you learn to run off deflections in the u-9s. Running between the wickets, in addition to keeping the scoreboard ticking, gives the batsmen confidence and puts pressure on the fielding side. You need to be physically fit and in good shape to constantly steal those ones and turn the ones into twos and the twos into threes.
I agree but when Pakistan players run there are run outs. The running went down a bit when they started getting one or two every match and some of them are just too silly.
