I hate Sanjay Manjrekar, never appreciates efforts of Indian batsmen. He has inferiority complex.

So how is the Great Peter Siddle bowling? Is he trundleriffic again?

Might need to change my avatar.

Good batting from the young Indians but they need to go on and make big hundreds like ours did. All conditions for batting from this day onwards in this series are going to be harder than today.

Not a bad idea I reckon RA. Healy avatars are the go these days I heard.

Oops edited the post trying to reply lol fail whale

Then get seam movement , Home conditions should be exploited.

If we get draws in Australia , it is disappointing. Australia / England / SA are places known for bowlers dominating and results.

You're calling it a draw this early?

Come on mate this must'n't have been your first Test match you saw in Adelaide. There have been results here even though both teams posted 500+ in first innings.

Also the curators in Australia are responsible for pitch preparation. And Adelaide has hardly been a wicket that seams throughout its history. It will spin later in the match but you have to bat well and bowl well to get a result here.

Great effort by Lyon. Aus needs to now pick up one more and tail will start.

Nothing for the quicks but plenty of spin and bounce.

I mentioned in the above posts , that if there some changes on the surface on last couple of days then result is possible.

If the pitch starts doing something , then obviously result is possible

He's injured himself apparently

Is Lyon the new Mooen bhai?

India looking ordinary against spin of late.

Sachin, Dravid, Sehwag and Azharuddin will not be impressed. :kapil

This has always been Adelaide. And it's not just relying on the wicket, the bowlers have to bowl disciplined spells as well and the fielders have to put pressure on the batters. Mitch was wayward in his opening spell but much tighter afterwards.

lyon is actually bowling well, supported by the pitch, big rough in the right place

It's a typical Lyon wicket - little spin but lots of bounce.

Adelaide usually starts really flat but then deteriorate in quick time. I just don't understand why teams keep declaring their 1st innings time after time here. Even 450-500 is not really a safe score here.

Can we get rid of No Hit before he gets a double ton

It's because of time usually. Declare on Day 2, bowl them out Day 3 1/2, that leaves 5 sessions for a result.

They declare because , no one can be sure how much will it deteriorate , you need to give bowlers chance to get 20 wickets

He's getting decent spin out there. More than any thing tho seems to have his line, length and pace spot on.

Notwithstanding the last wicket, I'm impressed with the fight back from the Indians.

Johnson will blow the tail here. Just need to get rid of one wicket here.

According to cricinfo it seems India's last 100 test run partnership in tests was in the 1st test in Nottingham, btw Bhuvi & Shami.

Our tail is long. Gotta see out the day without losing another wicket.

If Dhawan doesn't do well in Aus he must be shown the door ideal conditions for him.

I don't understand how he can bowl so well in the off spinners graveyard but bowl utter trash on a spinning track.

Well the way I see it it's only going to get much harder to bat on the last couple of days so might as well just make full use of the first few days. Aus should have tried slogging their way to 600 like the last time around I reckon.

Scoreboard pressure is pretty much the only way teams are going to pick up cheap wickets here the first few days.

New ball taken,Clarke trusts MJ and Harris over Lyon i don't blame him for that.

Kohli has slowed down since the Rahane wicket but it's probably for the greater good with just 17 overs to go.

:))

Regardless of conditions most players just tend to do better at home. Cricket is a funny game hahaha

With Lyon bowling so well, wonder if taking the new ball could have been delayed by a few overs. Maybe say 10 overs before the close of play and that way Aussies would have had the new ball to work with tomorrow morning.

I think it generally applies to all batsmen , bowlers both spinners and fast bwolers that they do better at home . A lot of SC pace bowlers have better record at in the SC compared to Aus , SA or Eng
