I swear Mitchell Starc is just Mitchell Johnson in an unsubtle disguise and man suit. MJ's new way of staying in the team for a few more games.

Stunning drive by McCullum. He's playing with some sense today, survive the first session and then cash in lad. :misbah

McCullum has often mullered England. Always thought he looked much better than a 30s average player.

That nipped back by some distance, hard to fault the batsmen, superb seam bowling even with these conditions.

Nope, great highways will be presented for our Indian masters.

I fear Hobart and Gabba would have been real tests for India's lineup.

Unfortunately, Melbourne and Adelaide will be run-fests for them, with the Sydney Test going down to the wire again after which they will blame the umpires.

Drinks, 7/134.

Usual NZ rearguard action here, Brownlie batting well - and he has been easily their best bat this series.

Is it just me or does Southee's face just make you wish he headbutted a bullet?

Phil Hughes :))

Ross Taylor was right. Walking wicket.

Well poised but I reckon we're in the drivers seat.

There is still plenty of movement in the pitch. Going to be very tough conditions for the batsmen.

Khawaja has shown he's pretty good in these situations. Has a strong temperament along with his good batting technique. Martin is causing some trouble here though.

I can't see Warner lasting long.

Khawaja is getting beaten a lot though - especially by Martin. But to be fair these conditions are heavily in favour of the bowlers, there is not a lot you can do when the ball is seaming that much.

Warner gone. Could not do a lot against that delivery.

Very tricky conditions, NZ will fancy picking at least 3 more wickets before lunch.

Will Aus get more than 150 or will do the same what their did vs South Africa==??

I think Australia will get around 150 as well - unless someone plays a blinder under these conditions.

I think these kind of pitches are good.. really fun..better than those flat tracks..

Clarke survives DRS review for LBW, too high.

Khawaja needs to hang in there. The ball is still pretty new only 17 overs old. Once it gets to 35+ it will be easier to bat.

Aus will score around 270 I feel.. Khawaja need to find out where he will get runs from. :malik

Despite Martin's great batting .... this is the reason why he is still in the side :P

Aus 35/4 and in trouble these cheap collapse are a regular thing now for the aussies!

Lol at the commentary about Trott. :))

Great test so far. I'm hoping for a Kiwi win. :P

It's really criminal to have rubbish player like Warner in the team over someone class like Katich.

Maybe the Aussie board will grow some sense if NZ humiliate them here.

Clark bowled leaving Bracewall for 22. Good way to payback for being bowled off a no-ball last game. 7-75

England bowled them out for 90 odd but what's the lowest Australian home total (in recent times)? Anyone?

seems like I have travelled back in 70's after seeing the colour of the pitch and movement.......tbh this is what test match used to be all about..what a good come back by the kiwis......
