Australia v Pakistan | 1st Test | Brisbane | Dec 15-19, 2016 | Day 2

I wonder if there's a difference in first innings conditions in Sri Lanka and Australia?

Yeah Aussie conditions require a 6-3 leg side field. Aggressive captain is right on the money

More or less everyone, I won't put names. They are superstars considering a 25 overs match on club grounds at Rajshahi, Khulna, Rangpur or Sylhet - where a single player could change the match with a 60 and 5 overs spell, so no one complained. And during bowling, they'll stand at slip (forced to keep a slip in 25 overs match to acomodate 4 overs). Among PAK players, Malik is the only player who'll field every ball, anywhere captain wants him to stand. Even at top level - be sure, if someone hits a 100; he is not going to field. Indian players were not at this level but Malhotra would move so slow that Captsin will put him at slip. Srilankans were absolute comited - they'll clap, cheer, run, smile & often would stand at firing lines - short leg, short cover.

How long has this been going on for ? Who is Malhotra lol ?

Jennings's honeymoon over - had that catch been taken his Test career would have been 2, 0 & 1

How is Wade still playing?

Good bowling. Should mop up the tail in 20-30 runs.

14 out of the last 15 balls were dot balls and it results in a wicket from a loose shot. It seems that the agressive captain knows more than the armchair whinger :misbah

Wade should retire, Bring on maxwell and give him a pair of gloves, he'll perform better than this joke

There are people on this forum who will still say Rahat bowled better

Wickets are falling because the batsmen are desperately trying to score runs now before Rahat comes back into the attack and utterly demolishes them. :rahat

Ashok Malhotra - Arjuna's lost twin brother. Played few Test for India - wasn't good enough for Delhi team at Ranji; so shifted to Calcutta & played few times in East quota. But, he was almost Sobers in Dhaka league - rather Sobers was almost Ashok Malhotra of Abahani in Test cricket.

Played in 80s & 90s - his DC record is mis leading because he played in Ranji eastern zone with 7/8 matches against Tripura, Asssm, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram - 4/5 hundreds confirmed before he ran into Bihar & Oddisha ...

I genuinely believe if Smith was taken in last over before dinner - PAK would have batted on day 1.

Ab partnership na lag jaye.. continuous wickets is key

You have really good knowledge man !!

Ashok malhotra also tried hand in coaching .

Interesting. Are you trying to say that Amir would've blown away the tail with 2nd new ball under lights?

Where are Amir haters now???

#messiah #boywonder #hatersgonnahate

I know - he ran some camps in Dhaka with kids; one of whom left cricket for studies - now does net sessions for 8 hours with MS office in Toronto ....

Wow you know your cricket and cricketers

For havens sake - make Amir or Yasir Captain, in couple of years time ODI ranking will be in top 5.

Misbah was trying to contain ......😝

I think the tail will have trouble picing Yasir. If we can get them for less than 380 and bat out today and tomorrow, it's game on.

Amir and Wahab ripping through the Australian lineup. But... But... Rahat was supposed to be our saviour:rahat

You are talking about yourself !!!

He also was involved with Bengal at some point of time.

Sarf's drop looking bigger by the minute ... wickets have tumbled after Smith, had he been taken when the score was 182/3, we'd be looking at Aus 250 all out possibly.

I know this is actually making me mad at Misbah! Yasir was pleading for another man at off stump!

Misbah turning our ace wicket taker into a defensive bowler

Crazy field from Misbah. How can you blame Yasir for bowing that defensive line TBH. That ball that went for 4 was perfect but Misbah wants Yasir to bowl on leg stump

Bowling aggressively to Right Handed batsmen and bowling defensively to Left Handed batsmen is actually a thing. It is generally recommended that Leggies bowl that way. Chinaman would do the opposite. It is easier to attack Yasir when you are a Left Handed batsmen. Bowling stumps to stumps will force the Lefty not to leave the ball and he constantly has to play some kind of shot.

Yeah that shot is flick into the on-side for one

My parents social status was too polished for their only son to waste life chasing a leather ball; besides my academic report card wasn't suitable either. And, my rice eating body wasn't strong enough to manage both. But above all; never anyone could imagine that you can drive a BMW X5 or a Porsche Cayenne playing cricket in bangladesh ...😩 Also, I am a journeyman from kid - never had settled friends.

Interesting life ! I really like the passion and knowledge you have about cricket , I think we should meet someday :)

Poor Yasir. Guy has bowled so well in his first innings in Australia but only has one wicket to show for it.

True, Shane was a master at that - he made life measurable for Lara who played Murali & Saq better against all logic.

But, do you think this field set up explains that tactics?

Yeah that shot is flick into the on-side for one

In eight overs today, there have been two singles on the on side from Yasir's bowling.

Two.

Try watching the game and you might stop making a fool of yourself.

That was the third leg side single just now, three in 9 overs.

Seems you started watching this match from this morning. It would have been helpful if you had tuned in yesterday

Don't understand how Misbah and Yasir let Hazlewood get off strike so easily

Imagine if we had Smith at 40-odd and Handscomb had been attacked with a fuller length first up. No worries, let's keep it up. With some luck going out way, we can definitely make 400 on this pitch.

Few things never changes - this guy Hashcomb has managed to hit a hundred with his shovel technique on back foot - now he'll go to India & Jaddu will burry him alive with his armer against that stance ...

Great knock by Handscomb. Must get them below 400. Yasir and Misbah not bowling on Hazlewoods pads will help
