Why didn't he started to take the strike like this when Asif and Rauf were playing?

Because neither of those two are worthy enough to have the honour of batting alongside the legend that is Misbah, only Saeed "Siddle Sledger" Ajmal is deserving of such a privilege. :misbah :ajmal

these are good indications, pakistan should swap the top 3 with the bottom 3 next innings, surely we will play better!

Don't worry Mishbah won't disappoint in getting out in yet another innovative and original way...

Do you have the answer to everything about Misbah?

folow on avoided is no big deal, they wernt gonna follow on anyway lol

You never know Pointing's plans but just taking the initiative away from AUS is a victory itself.

Don't worry, he has 136 runs left to score before he does that

imagine he smashes the ball at ajmals stomach and we have to go off cos hes injured.

Misbah stranded tantalisingly close to his double century :(

Well played Misbah and Ajmal

aamer and ajmal have contributed about 20 runs, but they have also helped abou70+

Well played Misbah.

Lets see if our bowlers can ball on the friendly conditions that Aussies were bowling on

abey yaar ends at 38. This counting didnt help too much either :(
koyee baat nahee, let's get them under 150 and make a match of it:):) I think this time around our bowler will do it.

220 overs to be bowled in this test match

For starters are bowlers and fielders need to keep it tight.

Aus will score 150 rest of the day...another 150 tomorrow morning...thereby extending the lead to 500 and will declare...so Pak will have 4.5/5 sessions to survive...which ain't happening...

We've bashed Misbah to pieces but he deserves credit for his knock today. He stuck in and scored some runs and pushed us past the follow on mark.

Well played indeed.

How about 99 like against NZ?
they are better than NZ, so 150 would do. We need to have good fielding, no cheap runs and no drop catches. I know this is asking too much. :) I have not given up hope yet.

Let's bundle them out for 150. It can be done, need Aamer, Asif and Ajmal to outperform.

Follow on was good for Pakistan. Follow on could have made Aus to bat on the last day. Now Aus will bat today and we have two days to watch the tuk tuk and collaps. Follow on was the only way to save the game.

Let's say we scored 350 (best case) in the second inning after follow on, Aus would have been chasing 150 runs on the last day. Now there is only one result unless we get them out for 150 and knock 350 on the last two days.

Watch them score 200 and give it back to us tomorrow after lunch.

good point. But believe me ponting still would have batted.

Follow on is not by default nor automatic...the opposing captain has to enforce it...and Ponting would not have done so...

Even if Aussies get out on 50 runs for a lead of 250...Pak won't be able to even score that much...

Well, Australia is in a good position and there is no doubt about that. Pakistan has to bowl well and than bat as well in order to win or draw the game. The game is still on and there is no winner or loser at this time.

We're bad but we're not THAT bad. Still a featherbed of a wicket

I think we played more positively today. Except for Kamran's atrocious shot, we tried to score some runs. We were done by top 4 tuk tuk not scoring yesterday despite spending a lot of time in the middle. Mindless.

We played 100 overs for 250 and they played 128 for 450. This match could have been saved.

I know. If he had enforced, follow on was good for us.

good observation. We went into bat in defensive mode. Trying to save the match from 1st inning. If you notice 454 was not a big enough score. We should have played more positively. Omar should watch out more in the second inning. Imagine if he would have stayed longer:) Oh well...

My biggest regret is waking myself up, thinking that our batsmen had suddenly discovered courage - not to be!

Now have to listen to Tony, Tubby, Motoo and gadha on TV talking about how Ricky will smash Pakistan.

If we have to win this match, we have to bundle them under 100.

I think 150 would do it. Bundling them out under 100 is just asking too much. Even 150 is a wishful thinking

I hate to say it in public but I havent seen any evidence of real firepower in our pace attack.

I will settle for a draw in these circumstances.

I set my clock at 2am and it did not ring. I got up at 5 am and I am glad because I can enjoy the reast of the day without feeling sleepy

Now we've said that, watch them not lose a wicket.

Yep, we missed the opportunity yesterday. But you have to give credit to Ponting for decleration, now he has all the time he needs.

I had a good sleep, after Jr got out I went to bed. Smart man, No?

You missed a masterclass of epic proportions from Misbah :misbah

We simply must make full use of the new ball because this is the only time that the pitch will provide any assistance to the bowlers.

Too bad I did. I think :ajmal epic innings of 4 holds equal importance, No?

True, you missed Ajmal sledging Siddle which was also classic.

Umer Akmal has scored 129 while batting with Kamran. He scored 75 when playing with Yosuf. He has some tendencies of Afridi and he needs a dady with him to make big scores. He was the only guys who was not bothered by Aus bowling. But he ends up playing one too many shots.

We need a senior guy playing him and keeping his head down to save this match.

On Last two tours(99 and 04) Pakistan conceded a lead of exactly 208 on both occasions!!!196 is bit of improvement actually.
in 95 we were bowled out for 97 in first innings of the series.
