91-8 Swann gone now. This collapse would make Pakistan proud they have lost 6 wickets for 9 runs they might not avoid follow on here LOL

This wicket is still decent for batting.

It's great bowling by both teams and some very poor batting. England's middle order seems intimidated by Johnson. Trott as well

Not a minefield by any means but not an Indian road either though

Never judge. First innings performance until both teams have batted. That's what I said after yesterday

Honestly speaking, Eng didn't bowl that well but Aus is bowling with aggression here. Eng fast bowlers was bowling in 120s.

Mitch bowling with some fire here. This is what 90+ bowler can do to a batting lineup.

Yesterday Johnson batted really well , that saved Aussies from getting out to low score , now you can see that innings can prove decisive.

Lol Swanny bowled off a no ball...priceless. That's for Khawaja!!!

England has looked so clueless

England has looked so clueless against little bit of seam and bounce. With Cook going downhill and no more good south african batsman coming down to play for England, future doesn't look that good for them.

Poms need to reduce the Aussies lead as much as possible. They would not like to be chasing over 400 last.

Pakistan-esque collapse by England here

+1
This is quite remarkable. Had checked last when KP had been dropped. From 2 wickets down to 8 within the first 100 is quite baffling.

Go Ozzies..!

Funny how everyone was writing Australia of after yesterday. All these experts saying it's a 400+ pitch and Australia's batting not good enough. Well wonder what they got to say now about England's batting, their batting has been poor for over the last few years and credit to Australia for bowling so well. Imagine if England following on but don't see that happening. Just 26 minutes for 5 wickets and can't see Rngland coming back from this it took Australia 26 minutes to get complete control of the game.
England are just too defensive they got away in last series because of their bowling but on these pitches Australia will be making 300 most of the time and the way England bat they need 2 days to make that. No intent at all by the batsmen.

You make it seek like its easy to score. It's not as easy as it looks at the Gabba it's not the Adelaide Oval.

It's wasn't easy due to some good bowling but Eng showed no intent to score at all and it allowed even Lyon to just nicely settle into a good rhythm.

Wicket is not bad for batting. It's mostly poor batting by both sides and some good bowling. Aus is bowling lot better than Eng here. Now Aus should try to wrap up Eng quickly to take a lead around 180-190. Then it will be very difficult for Eng to come back in this game.

Mitch is bowling with serious heat and some of the English blokes dont seem to like it very much.

So used to these crazy inexplicable 1 hour collapses being done by our lot, nice to be on the other end for a change.

Still think the pitch is decent, just quality bowling from both sides and some awful stuff from the bats.

England scored 39 runs off 25 overs in that session and lost 6 wickets.

It gets worse when we remember that the last ball before lunch was a wicket

I think someone hypnotised MJ into thinking this is Perth.

He's a confidence player. I think half the reason he bowls so well in Perth is because he bowled well in his first test there so now he thinks he will always bowl well in Perth

No better sight than a fast bowler rolling over batsmen with bouncers or Yorkers.

It's actually nice to see some one bowling with serious pace consistently. Eng is not liking it at all.

funny how I kept saying that Lyon won't trouble anyone and he straightway took out two gun players and was on a hat trick. Hindsight is the best sight they say. So true lol

Garry is on fire.

Yeah but why do you call him Garry?

Do you notice that the Australian players call him Gaz or Gazza?
Gaz and Gazza are nicknames for Garry.

He's got the name because he shares the same surname as Garry Lyon

Shows you how poorly Swann bowled yesterday. Couldn't contain and couldn't take wickets. Lyon's success was down to some tight bowling from him.

It happens quite often out of India you know :-P

Nope, I watch mostly all games, specially SAcan ones. No bowler really bowls with serious pace for whole test match. I don't recall anyone in recent times. I think Johnson was bowling with serious pace even in Indian flat tracks.

Nah I actually didn't. Thanks for the info buddy.

It's the best sight in cricket. A fast bowler bowling a great spell.

This ! Fast bowling is the beauty of cricket. This is why test matches in Australia and England are so fun to watch. There is actually something for the bowlers in these pitches.

I would take a spicy pitch over a boring run-fest anyday.

Almost wanted to replace England with Pakistan in the title of thread -

lol at all the pre-series whinging by the aussies who said johnson was only selected due to the India series performance and how that whole tour was a gigantic waste of time :))

That whole tour was a gigantic waste of time. Go on, try and make the Ashes thread about India, I know you want to.

Who else is thinking of how Mohammad Irfan would be bowling on this pitch....whatta site that would be

when does Pak play Aus in Aus next?

I think Aussies are really furious about past two ashes defeats. I sense revenge here more than tactics.

Too much short stuff to tail now. They should try to bowl straight and get rid of tail now.

This is a Courtney Walshesque attack on the two tailenders

losing 8 wickets for 63 runs on this wicket is very poor batting . Can Eng escape from a defeat here ?
