One more quick last wicket to keep the lead around 180 runs.
 
Aussies will wanna rough up Anderson and Broad for a few overs before they try to get them out
 
They're not going to give Jimmy any chin music I don't think. I reckon they want to get him out and get England out in the field again

If Pakistan or India had batted like this, wrist slitters would've been out proclaiming how these batsmen are spoilt and cannot face short pitched bowling and can only play well at home yada yada yada
 
Australia probably will be batting twice on the same day.

Interesting, especially when they almost had to face innings defeat quite a while ago :!3:

Nah mate i don't intend to make this an India thread at all :)
But I was just put off by the smug attitude off the aussies during that series calling it a series with 'no benefit at all',if johnson hadn't played that series u would have probably picked a trundler like copeland who would have ended up being smashed to all parts of the boundaries by the likes of kp and bell.

Probably not, dont think it works on Jimmeh anyway. But Broad yes, he avoids the ball sometimes and Swann runs away from it.
 
If Broad keeps taking his eye off the ball he will wear one on the head again soon

Johnson had sorted himself out by the one dayers in England.

Spent months with Lillee working one on one.
 
Broad should look to score few now , Lyon is bowling.
 
Australia are favourites to win it

England will have to bat last but that wont really hurt them much because they will be batting mostly on the 4th day

I think he's picked based on his performance in shield cricket. Bailey is the ones whose purely picked on India's tour performances.

It was a total waste of time. Mitch would have been picked anyway because nobody else is fit. Starc, Bollinger, Bird, Cummins the ghost, Pattinson, Hazelwood all injured.

Useless series was useless. :)

you sure can't deny the fact that the India series re-enforced his credentials if not anything.
And what if Bailey play's a match winning knock in one of the tests??
The India series might well have been worth it :)
 
All I am saying is that performing against international opposition almost always has more credence than domestic performances due to the superior quality of the opposition and the pressure of playing against an international side.
but anyways that's ur opinion :)
 
Eng can still save this game as forecast for day 4 is dodgy .

Australia should wrap this up by 4th day evening. Good for Michael Clarke, he might not have won a test since January but you gotta agree with Warne/Chappell that he is indeed a brave captain and deserves better results.
 
excellent performance by the aussies!!
Even if they get 150-200 in the second dig,it would be enough to win them the game imo.

And we've made significant mistakes based on that. Like Bailey.
 
If we can score another 200 or so it's going to make it very tough for England

hahaha..did he say that? Chappell at times just doesn't know when to stop when in the state of excitement.
 
Where is Shaun Marsh, is he fit? He should be considered over either Rogers or Bailey.
 
Long way to go, lets remember we had a bigger lead than this in the infamous 47 game in SA.

It's too early to write bailey off,I know he is not the most technically adept batsman but he could still fight it out,if he plays a match winning knock in of the tests then the India trip could well be worth it.
 
Target of 400 would be almost impossible for ENG to chase ... which means AUS need to score 235 in their 2nd innings :)

It's not too early. He got out the same way that shield bowlers have got him out for 18 months.

Bailey has to play aggressively that's the only way he can survive and score ..... leaving balls and defending will eventually get him out in any format
 
Aussies should not take any chances today , just under 25 overs left , should look to make it 70 / 1 maximum
 
If Bambi can clean up the OZ top order again he deserves to be MOM
