But can they defend the target and attack the batsman at the same time. A later decalaration will allow Ponting to set all out attacking fields knowing that leaking a few runs here and there won't hurt too much.

3-4 overs too late if you ask me, but I suppose Ponting wants to go on an all-out attack for 70 odd overs. Hence the extra 30 runs.
 
well who's up for another 10 runs of 160 ball performance from Dravid. India obviosly will go for the draw and Dravid and Jaffer will try to stink it up as much as possible wihtout getting out.

jaffer has been utterly useless this series. I think yuvraj's performance today will determine whether him or Jaffer is dropped. Ideally Yuvi would be dropped though to get everybody back at their natural position.

Because we let him camp on back foot on flat tracks and never dragged him forward to drive at balls on and around off-stick!

Aussies have plans pakistanis just run up and bowl and hope for best!
 
if there was a time for another lax-D legendary partnership, it is NOW. Has the same duo ever put 2 100+ partnerships in the same match.
 
Johnson needs to get his front arm up higher and needs to get through his action better. He keeps falling away and thus the waywardness!

and we had the likes of sami, kaneria as our main strike bowlers.
 
Jaffer going may actually be good for India. It reduces India's options to play for a draw. Other than Dravid there are no more shutter down batsman left now.

They need a bit of a luck though. A few nicks evading fielders and those moments of madness from umpires to go in their favour.
