So what did Kumble say at the presentation?

He is an aggressive player. But off the field he is very gentle. I believe he won't make a fuss of it even though whole match ticked off all sundries.

He apologized for sledging MoYo and said that it was very unbecoming of a captain to stoup to such lowly behavior.

Well played India for putting up a good fight, not in this innings but in the whole test, first having Australia reduced to 134-6, then Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly, Harbhajan, Ishant and RP fighting it out for India to get past the Aussie total and then Kumble for playing his heart out, only to be on the receiving end of all this drama. It's very dissapoiting, but that's life. India did not deserve to lose this match.

India....so close yet, so far, how coming so close to a 'moral-victory' in drawing a test match in Australia but, to throw it away in the space of 5 deliveries was shocking.

Excellent fightback, brilliant team spirit and I hope that India compete in the next test matches so it does not become a routine 4-0 thrashing for them and they are actually made to work for their victories.

Why do the Asian teams suffer at the hands of biased and incompetent umpires. We know Pakistan have suffered a lot when Darryl Hair, Rudi Koertzan, David Constand and Benson were umpiring. Now the rich and financially might Indians have suffered at the hands of Bucknor and Benson. We will have a big uproar and I feel technology will be brought in sooner than expected.

Are these Australian pitches still suiting you, Yuvi? :))) :)))

Great win and good test cricket.. poor 4th innings batting as usual from the neighbors.

LOL Bill Lawry was like "Symonds pats Bucknor on the shoulder at the end of the over and rightfully so, they've had a wonderful partnership in this match." :)))

Guys we lost this match accept the fact. There is no point in jumping over the umpiring issue. There were 2 bad decisions but what were the other 8 players doing there?

Symonds knick and Dravid's dismissal were the turning points of the game. It's hard to take from an Indian fan, what could have been. Here are the blunder's:

1) Ponting given not out edging down leg side
2) Symonds given not out knicking to Dhoni
3) Symonds given not out stumped of Kumble
4) Symonds given not out stumped off Bhajji
5) Jaffer bowled off no ball by Lee
6) Hussey given not out ala Ponting off RP Singh
7) Dravid given out caught by Gilly of guess who...Symonds
8) Dada given out caught by Clarke

Then again, pressure got to Harbhajan, RP and Ishant, thus giving their wickets away in the end.

And you forgot the catch which symonds dropped of Dravid was also on the no-ball.So if he had taken that catch then Dravid would have been given out. :))) :))) And i am indian. :16:

Brilliant win for Australia looks like RP got his decleration spot on interms of timing india need to get rid of yuvraj and Jaffer who are both been shown up for what they are in this series FTBs.

If people did not hear what Ponting said

January 06, 2008 MICHAEL Clarke is nicknamed Pup and he only needed one over today to turn around a dog of Test for him.

Having contributed just one and a duck with the bat, he had no reason to feel like he was earning his keep heading into the final day.

He next dropped a hot chance off Sourav Ganguly's blade at first slip just when Australia needed to remove the left-hander.

Fortunately he had the opportunity to claim a low, if controversial, catch to remove Ganguly off Lee before the damage was too great.

But the Test captain-in-waiting is known as Pup for a reason, continually pestering skipper Ricky Ponting for a bowl like a young dog yanking at a blanket.

With the game seemingly out of reach for Australia, Ponting threw him the ball. India looked home with three wickets in hand and about a quarter of hour to be played out.

Clarke dazzled like his diamond earring in his second over. He removed long-time Australian tormentor Harbhajan Singh with a ball that fizzed and bounced off the shoulder of the bat for Mike Hussey to take a diving catch at slips.

Suddenly the nerves started gangling in the Indian dressing room.

After an eternity, tailender RP Singh emerged but lasted just one ball before he was struck on the pads and sent packing.

Teenager Ishant Sharma then tested the limits in terms of time wasting to get to the pitch but only lasted three balls before popping a catch to slip and Australia had secured victory.

In five balls, Clarke had secured Australia's record-equalling 16th straight win and gone from zero to hero. And he knew it.

“More wickets than runs this match,” he joked on Channel Nine.

“I have been asking Punter (Ponting) for a bowl all day and he finally gave me the ball and obviously again, a lot of Ars* but I am certainly taking it.”

Ponting was impressed. “Michael Clarke's got the golden touch hasn't he?” he said.

The boys are calling him Golden Bollock* at the moment. He's come on and got three late ones. When I gave him the ball he said, 'I think I have got just enough time to win us the game here'.

Great win. Ponting just keeps proving he's the world's best captain time and time again. What a special cricket team.

Well you've had 3 different captains in the past year. Same as us.
Here are some more examples;

1) Bedi was removed from captaincy after 2-0 loss to Pak in 1978-79. Gavaskar was made captain.

2) Gavaskar was removed from captaincy after India lost to Pak 3-0 in 1982-83. Kapil Dev was new captain.

3) Kapil was removed from captaincy after a home series loss to Pak (1-0) to Pak in 1986-87. Vengsarkar was made the new captain.

4) Then Vengsarkar was removed after 3-0 loss to WI in 1988-89...and Azharuddin was made captain.

Copy pasting. :P

I left after tea thinking it would be a draw. I underestimated the talent, experience and sportsmanship shown to produce the result

Surprised that I Sharma was not given timed out :D I think that would have been the first one

Tendu was under pressure in the first innings..............

but test was open at that time.
2nd inning was the real test just like second inning of the first test

Open?

India was 345/6, still 118 runs behind with only 4 wickets in hand. Tendulkar powered India to a 69 run lead, if not for him, India might not have even got past 350.

to be fair we should have atleast drawn the series. Our tail choked in the end. 3 wickets in the last over to Michael ****ing Clarke?

I hope we destroy Paris Hilton at Perth.

Ponting's offensive remarks and jibes towards India

At the end of the following clip, Ian Ward, the Sky Sports presenter apologizes to fans for Ponting's offensive comments during Michael Clark's interview(around 5min 26 sec).

Can anyone figure out what Ponting says?

From what I can gather its something along the lines of 'we did a few things right mate', and something to do with the timing of the declaration.
