Australia vs India | Match 7 | CB Series | Adelaide | 17/2/2008

Its a day/nighter and is due to start in about 5 and a half hours.

Brett Lee is going to be given a rest by the hosts and Sehwag is a doubt for the Indians.

More than Shewag......Yovraj should be rested today. Other youngsters should be played today. Uthappa shoud be asked to come up the order. He is unlucky with getting no chance to bat. Raina should also be given a chance today.

thats one of the reasons why i didn't have lee as my fantasy team kaptaan

O well yaar, he would have done better then Ponting!! :12:

So Clark will finally get the new ball today ?

The biggest mistake Ponting has been making all tour long is not giving Stuart the new ball.

I hope India is going with 5 bowlers. Drop Yuvraj and take Raina and chawla.

india should def go on the attack with 5 bowlers ..

aussie batting is out of form now .. continued pressure will make them crack.

play chawla and bowl first should be the indian game plan.

I still don't think clark will get the new ball. He will have to bowl at number 3 after Bracken and johnson :20:

Clark is rubbish in ODI and does not swing the ball so won't be getting the new one.

Wish we still had Tait

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first

Australia : AC Gilchrist, ML Hayden, RT Ponting, MJ Clarke, MEK Hussey, JR Hopes, A Symonds, GB Hogg, MG Johnson, NW Bracken, SR Clark

India : SR Tendulkar, G Gambhir, RV Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh, RG Sharma, MS Dhoni, IK Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, S Sreesanth, I Sharma, MM Patel

with tait gone australia look real thin in terms of fast bowling depth !

IS is tightening - and Sree is releasing it!
Hope they know this isnt a process of negotiation to practice “squeeze/release”

Munaf in for Sree. Good move.

Hayden WHACKS Munaf over midwicket for six!

that looked like a desperate shot - did it well in the end.

152K indeed... just wintnessed it myself.

stop press! gilchrist bowled the very next ball! beaten for pace!

india need to clone ishant sharma and produce a battery of fast bowlers!

Must be why India have won so many games this tour :D

No, thats why India has done better than most team who toured recently!

Regardless of the outcome of this tournament, I think Indians have discovered the bowler which they were lacking for over 2 decades.

World best team (Aussies) struggling against one of the average ODI teams (Indians) in the world. 4-0 whitewash in test series and no chance in ODI... what happened to those comments LOL

ponting's not listening to me ..

i told him to move down the order and have hussey come in 3...

but he didn't listen !

Hayden gone. Extra bit of bounce. I think Hayden under-estimated the bounce.

and i also told ponting to bowl first ...

he didn't listen to that either !

... and Sehwag's injury too ( he is injured, isnt he? side strain? )

They could have gone with Raina. But they opted for a bowler. Because batting strength can be reduced considering the absence of Lee.

good start..but we need to knock hussey over. Clarke will follow after that

Hussey gone...
Aus 73/5...

Feels so damn gud to see India on top and Australia struggling...
And tht too Coz of India`s bowlin and fieldin...
seriously one of the best times in Indian cricket....

And as I m writin this....thr goes a boundary......Lets see, how much will they score frm now on...

India killing Australia here

ponting needs to shake things up ..

the batting order needs to be changed and he needs to start bowling first ..

No surprises there :D

I have no idea what the hell he was trying to do there. If you don't know how to get to the pitch of the ball.. stay at the crease..

This is unbelievable really. I certainly didn't expect AUS to be blown away in 2 consecutive games by IND>

Why did he drop his bat ??

Hopes is not an international standard cricketer.

Shocking stuff from India early on :O but Aus is recovering now as Clarke is still there. Good stuff from Ishant again this guy has emerged form nowhere!

Clarke out for 79! Well played :14:

Australia 187/8 (46.1 ov)

If India can get them under 200 they should chase it easily and if its not the case they should still do it comfotably.

4th wicket for Pathan! Bracken out!

Australia 187/9 (46.5 ov)

I have never seem Australia so desperate like this before.

huge over for india ..

that double wicket maiden from irfan just dropped about 25 runs off the aussie total.

Australia 203/9 (50.0 ov)

India should chase it easily.

It is going to be difficult for India considering the pace and bounce of the pitch. It was pretty fast pitch. That is a surprise at Adelaide oval.

A good start is very important. a flying start ALA Jayasuriya will give the momemtum but unfortunately no Viru for india

Viru never goes on to make a big one. After this many matches he has only 7 centuries to his name. That is pretty ordinary. Average of 31 as an opener is well below par in this day and age.
