Jayawerdene  He has taken the HTB tag to a whole new level!

SL certainly could have done with a long innings from him today. He was looking good as well. It was a shame he gave it away dabbing at one he should have left alone. Great catch by Clarke low down as well. So hopefully with a bit of luck on his side he can come good this tour

Samara looks like he's been spending too much time with Arjuna :snack:

Need downpours though to eat up into the time/overs not just liitle showers which are only going to give the Lion some time to put his paws up for a bit before unleashing his Jeffries again.

Getting tough now, although the rain does mean Siddle can rest (and we dont have to bowl Starc).

Still a long way to go though. Just over half way

Lyon is a work in progress but he isnt good on day 5 at all. Bowls his overs too quick, not trying to unsettle the batters.

Oh the MS Dhoni trick, our wicket keeper is bowling. Thats it Clarke is officially out of ideas.

DRAW

Hmm, hold on for a draw against Siddle and Co.

I think I've seen this movie before.

Well Siddle is overrated. He puts the effort in but can't run through a batting side. He is your third seamer at best not the leader of an attack. He slightly better version of Umar Gul.

Still a long way to go need to hang in there somehow

Unless something dramatic happens, this will be a draw. Worth pointing out though, at no stage in this game have Sri Lanka ever attempted to win the game.

He is a good Test bowler but not a champion bowler. Havent seen anybody overrate him to be honest. Averages a bit under 30 which is decent.

Can't say that was unexpected with their non existent pace bowlers

As the overrated Peter Siddle gets his 8th for the match.

I never said he was bad. It's just that he is not as good as we are made believe by the Likes of Nicholas and Slats. He is your third seamer who will be give 100% and never let you down but missing that X factor.

Is Clarke def out? Blow for AUS. Where is Josh Hazelwood? I rate that kid.

Another wicket can put SL under pressure here.
Siddle has improved in last 12 months and bullied Indian batting powerhouse last year but overall nothing separates them. Siddle plays on more helpful surfaces more often and Gul on flat tracks.

Sorry forgot Hazelwood. Injured of course.

If Clarke has strained a hamstring there is no way he can play Boxing Day, especially now that our fat visitors caused the runner rule to be changed.

Siddle averages 5 runs less a wicket than Umar Gul. That seperates them in the same way that 5 runs per wicket seperates Dale Steyn from Peter Siddle. Anyway, your opinion be yours.

Samara goes. Showed great fight under immense pressure.

I had said in previous posts , Aussies need to be down , a wicket or two and they would be back , and they are . If you keep bowling consistently good length you will get rewarded.
