Warm up match between Ireland A & Bangladesh today. Bangladesh win toss and bat and are 23/0 off 3 overs

These have been a couple of very impressive performances by Bangladesh.

To consistently score well over 300 is not easy for any sub-continent team visiting this part of the world.

Bangladesh has very good chance to win this CT. Batting is far superior than most of the team including India.

Nope. Realistically they don't have a chance to qualify for the semis. The opponents are Host England, Title contender Australia, Dark horse NZ. All three are among the tournament favorites. If we win one game that would a huge achievement.

On all this out of the world scores, look at the opponents. Less than club cricket. And in one game two of our players played for the opponent since they couldn't make an XI.

Should be an interesting series. World cricket needs more tri and quadrangle series and less of bilateral series. Hopefully with the demise of the big 3 we will see more series like these.

Try telling that to the administrators.

Tri series with finals are better.

You are exaggerating. I would be very much happy if bd can win two group matches as the group is very tough. I would support yours comment if bd would have been in other group.

Bangladesh is a good finisher short of a contender.

We don't have batsmen to play clutch knocks and hit some sixes down the order.

New look BLACKCAPS Ireland bound

A fresh faced BLACKCAPS side equipped with a new captain and some wily veterans flew out to Dublin on Saturday night for a One Day Tri Series with Ireland and Bangladesh.

The majority of the 15 man squad held a training camp in Mount Maunganui last week and coach Mike Hesson said he couldn’t be happier with their preparation.

“We had great weather in Tauranga and got plenty of good work done,” Hesson said.

“We’ve got some good fresh faces and guys that are really keen to make an impact in the squad which is exciting. They’re really looking forward to that opportunity they’re going to get in Ireland so it’s an exciting group to work with.

“These are guys who have been bashing the door down and looking for opportunities so it’s really nice to be able to provide that in a really competitive environment in Ireland against a couple of full strength sides who are going to be a big a challenge for us.”

The tournament will see 25-year-old Canterbury batsman Tom Latham become the 22nd ODI captain of the BLACKCAPS.

Hesson was confident his rising star could cope with the extra burden and said Latham would be able to lean on some of the senior guys.

“He’s very calm, he’s had plenty of experience with the under 19s and at Canterbury. He’s got a good cricket brain, he relates to all the players really nicely and it will be a great chance for us to see Tom under a bit of pressure.

“We’ve got a number of senior players he can use, Ross will be one of those as a key guy. We expect a lot of those senior guys to help Tom out because it can be quite a lonely task at times.”

Hesson and the team will have a week on the ground in Dublin and play a mid-week warm-up match before pening the Tri Series against the hosts at the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin on Sunday 14th (9:45pm NZT).

The BLACKCAPS will play each side twice to find an overall winner, before relocating to London for an ICC Champions Trophy warm-up match against India at the Oval on Sunday May 28th.

The tournament squad will assemble for that match with the majority of the IPL players filtering back in depending on the fortunes of their franchise.

“There’s a lot of unknown about the guys in the IPL, where their teams sit, when they might be released and if they will be released. We’ll have to have some flexibility in how we operate, we’ll have some extra players join us at certain times and some guys will be playing country and club cricket in India.

“They’re all professionals and I’m expecting them to turn up ready to go,” Hesson said.

The team will then move north to Birmingham to open their tournament campaign against Australia on June 2nd.

With England and Bangladesh also in the BLACKCAPS pool, Hesson knew the pressure would be on from the get-go.

“The format is a challenge in itself. One week, three games against three good sides and obviously you’ve got to win at least two of them.”

“It’s exciting that although it can work quickly one way, it can also go quickly in your favour and if you get on a roll who knows what may happen.”

I hope Nz beat ban in two matches they will face each other
Don.t think ireland have any chance against ban but you never know

I think Bangladesh should consider themselves favorites against NZ 2nd string side considering recent form and acclimatization.

NZ still are a very good side even with second string XI. Regardless should be a good competition between both sides.

Hope we win.

Don't know bro. SkySport and eir sports are confirmed. Gazi TV and maasranga tv are telecasting in bd. Don't know about others.

I am watching Guardians of the Galaxy 2, more awesome than wasting 8 hours of my life. Best of luck to Soumya, hope he scores a double ton

Do not mention any illegal streaming links on this thread or anywhere on PP. Thanks

Any idea which channel is telecasting this match. Should be one sided match but wants to see how good is Ireland

GTV live will be showing the match live on YouTube I believe. They are official broadcasters

Bangladesh playing their first any type of match in England after 7 years.

Absolutely disgraceful that the ECB haven't hosted Bangladesh in so many years. Sri Lanka who are a much smaller draw have toured three times since Bangladesh's last tour here.

There's a decent Bangladeshi contingent in Malahide today which is good to see.

Convict what do you know of Rob Cassell??

Cricket Ireland just appointed a first ever full time pace bowling coach and he's the man

Same situation we would scored <50. Having saying that anything over 150 will be plenty for Ireland.

This has to be the greenest wicket you will ever see. With all due respect Ireland are not a good bowling unit even by associate standards. A half decent bowling unit would have been decisive in this wicket.

BD have underperformed. More like we let ourselvws down by not reading the conditions and playing too many shots.

There is no way Ireland can ever beat us if we score 250 and there is no way you can score 300+ on this wicket especially if you are not accustomed to the conditions

Pakistan play swing better because they are invited more often we aren't.

Pakistan should and would score 270ish. Bangladesh won't because of poor temperament accredited to the lack of experience. Ireland smartly produced a green mamba which you will struggle to differentialte with the infield. Thing is Ireland bowling is not good. Bangladesh needed to have played them better

Hit for a six but what was Riad thinking. Someone give these kids the anti-afridi vaccine

I think I've heard the name so he probably played Shield cricket in the last decade or so.

Can't say I know anything more than that just that the name rings a bell.

Still raining. Most likely a reduced over game in the cards.

4:00 pm: Another 30 minutes lost and yes you've guessed it. It's still raining. The DJ is playing "I'm in the mood for Love". Not sure that's what most people in the ground are feeling at the minute…… The umpires have been out in the middle and have confirmed that the cut off point to start again is 6:10 pm. Once the rain has stopped they reckon its going to take 45 mins to get the ground ready for play again. The only thing is the rain has to stop first.
