BPL Draft: Shakib Al Hasan To Play For New Franchise Chittagong Kings - Check All Squads

Shakib Al Hasan will play the upcoming edition of the Bangladesh Premier League for Chittagong Kings after he was revealed as a direct signing at the player draft that took place in Dhaka on Monday (October 14).

Chittagong Kings Appoints Shahid Afridi as Brand Ambassador

The Chittagong Kings franchise has been making the biggest headlines in this season's Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). They’ve signed a number of star cricketers through direct contracts. For Shakib Al Hasan and Moeen Ali, they’ve appointed Australia’s Shaun Tait as the head coach. Today, the Kings franchise made another big announcement, introducing former Pakistani star cricketer Shahid Afridi as their brand ambassador for this BPL season.

After nearly a decade, the Chittagong Kings franchise has returned to the BPL with a bang, assembling a strong squad. They secured Bangladesh's star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan through a direct contract. In addition, the team has signed several foreign players, including Moeen Ali, Angelo Mathews, and Usman Khan.

In the players' draft, they further strengthened their roster by acquiring both domestic and international players. Today, the Chittagong Kings made another major announcement, revealing that Shahid Afridi will be joining the franchise as their brand ambassador. The Kings’ management shared this news in a press release on Tuesday.

“We are delighted to announce that 'Boom Boom' Shahid Afridi is joining Chittagong Kings as our 'Brand Ambassador.' Afridi's explosive energy, unmatched charisma, and passion for cricket have made him a global superstar, and now he brings that same spirit to our team. Welcome to the 'LALA' kingdom.”
