Bangladesh tour of India (2024)

This new stadium at Gwalior is yet another witout a roof.

Another soul less concrete bowl where you get baked whilst watching the game u cherish

Why don't local ground administrations/BCCi /politicos other stakeholders/intrested parties understand the woes of the paying Johny average who has to sit in 35-38 deg heat for hours together? how uncomfortable is this?

Our board is the richest but what do these bunch of gadzillion guzzling cement heads have to show for this this or what have they done for the poor paying spectator?

why cant they think about 'spectator viewing experience' , comfort for these guys etc...end of the day if a test match is played here, why would anyone take their family/kids for an outing here...

Bangladesh Team Doesn't Visit Gwalior Mosque, Hold Prayer In Hotel Before 1st T20I

Ahead of its T20 clash with India in Gwalior, the Bangladesh cricket squad did not visit the city's Moti Masjid on Friday and instead, offered prayers at their hotel, a police official said on Saturday. “We had made elaborate security arrangements around Moti Masjid but the Bangladesh team did not turn up. No organisation had given any call to disrupt their visit,” Gwalior Zone Inspector General Arvind Saxena told PTI over the phone. The mosque in the city's Phoolbagh area is about 3 km from the hotel where the visitors have been put up.

Security has been stepped up in the city amid a call for a ‘Gwalior bandh' on match day by right-wing outfits in protest against alleged atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government there in August.

“The decision to skip the mosque visit might have been taken at the team's management level,” he said.

The official confirmed that the ‘Shahar Qazi' (city's top Muslim cleric) reached the hotel and led the Bangladeshi cricketers in offering ‘Namaz-e-Juma' (Friday prayer) between 1 pm and 2.30 pm.

The official said they had made elaborate security arrangements outside the mosque where several mediapersons were also waiting.

The distance between the hotel and the Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, where the Bangladesh team has been practising since October 3, is about 23 km and the players are moving freely as per their schedule amid security cover.

“Providing security to the visiting team over just 3 km was never an issue from our side,” the official said.

Already, over 2,500 police personnel have been deployed for Sunday's India-Bangladesh T20I in Gwalior, he said.

On Sunday, cops will be on the streets from 2 pm. They will be on duty till spectators reach home after the game is over, police said.

After prohibitory orders were invoked two days ago, police are also keeping an eye on social media for inflammatory material, officials said.

Dud of a series from an Indian POV

Dud of a series from BD POV as well.

This is the most boring series I have ever witnessed ever since I started to watch cricket in 1997.

It is like BD sent in 11 Sheikh Hasinas who are deliberately losing to India to benefit India.

For me those are Lankan ones with India.
BD vs Lanka would had been way more interesting.

BD used to do better at least against India, now Pak and Bd results are always one sided.

Afg vs pak
Afg vs BD
BD vs Sl are better Asian games.

ICT has become too good for Asian teams overall, hoping to see bad selection to overcome this issue.

Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed while addressing media ahead of 3rd T20I against India:

"(There is) no doubt that they are (the) best in the world, not only in their (home) conditions but all over the world. They are more experienced and better players than us."

"In the powerplay, we did well, but they batted well in the end and unfortunately spinners had a bad day. Normally, we don't have these kind of bad days but in T20 anything can happen on any day."

"The spinners could not grip the ball as there was dew. We were in the game till the 11th or 12th over and on this wicket, if we had kept them under 180 runs, it was chaseable."

"We all know the Delhi ground is a high scoring (venue), the average (score) is more than 200. But unfortunately we didn't bat well in both the games (in the series). Both wickets were pretty good to bat but as a team we didn't play to our best potential."

"They batted really well till the end. It doesn't matter if a few wickets fell, they were still coming at us and because of the big total (to chase), we tried to hit and lost a couple of wickets early on and also the momentum."

"They score 180 to 200 runs regularly. For us that is 130-40 at home. We don't have that habit (of scoring big runs) and that is the reality. Hopefully, in the coming days, our home conditions will get better and at that point we can chase big runs and defend as well."

"A catch drop is always costly, especially against an opponent like them who are best in the world. The margin of error is very small and so it was costly."
