What are your opinions on this?
I think, as an ODI team we are very good batting unit, and decent attack on favourable conditions with restrictive spinners. In ODI, PAK attack is actually very good & penetrative for most conditions - except UAE, PAK & BD. But, in batting, still it's little behind & both teams are probably just above associate level in terms of fielding - that's after massive improvement by PAK & BD in fielding for last one year or so. Both Mash & Sarfraz are good leaders - Mash is a better commanding man manager, while Sarfraz is better player overall.
In that regard. I think in a 5 match series, it'll be really tough for us to match PAK's attack outside Asia - so it's 5-0 or 4-1 for PAK anywhere in AUS, SAF, NZ, UK, ZIM.
In Asia, to PCB's credit or discredit, I keep it up to you - Indian conditions are best for a team like PAK - absolute batting belters with lightning fast outfield but the wickets have even bounce, pace & carry - good for free stroke makers, great for bowlers with pace & skills, outstanding for spinners who can flight it with variations - in short 180 degree apart from the dross you have seen at Gaddafi - and to PCB's credit that PCA ground at Mohali is a dream home venue for PAK attack - less than 100 miles away from Lahore - same climate, weather, soil .. but obviously ploughing with cow & tractor should yield different output. Not only BD, I do believe India will also struggle against PAK at home. Almost certainly 5-0 between PAK - BD in most Indian venues.
In SRL, I'll keep it close, but probably 3-2 PAK, because SRL wickets has duel character - Pallekele, SSC & Kandy provides support to pacers while Premadasha & Gale condition should favour our team. Similar case is probably WI - some wickets are real sluggish, but there are 350+ wickets as well.
In UAE, and PAK again it'll be close, but I'll keep BD slightly ahead - reason being those semi ploughed mudbed, they call wicket should support our darters & our batsmen should enjoy pace of PAK bowlers - in general the faster you bowl, the faster you reach to fence on those wickets. I don't see PAK batsmen mauvering much 40+ overs of darting from Sakib, Taijul, Mustafiz, Nasir, Miraj, ........... 3-2 for us.
At home, BD is totally different team - confident & dominating. It should be a clear margin 4-1, at best 5-0, at worst 3-2; but BD will win the series.
We are not the best T20 side therefore everywhere PAK should be favourite. But, I back us to win few matches in UAE & PAK, on wickets where 140 is par score. BD batsmen are not the best hitters, but quite skilful in maneuvering strike - on sluggish wicket PAK will struggle to beat us even in T20s, for the batting & those type of wickets should normalize the gap between Amir/Hasan & Mustafiz/Sakib.
But, this is in general probably true for most teams - PAK won CT in U.K.; in olden times won a WC in AUS, made a final in U.K., won a T20 WC theee & made another final in SAF - but I don't see them winning much in UAE or in PAK. Those wickets are just not where PAK team should play on & that ODI ranking will again hit 8/9 if there are lots of "home" matches for PAK. This is an unique exception in history of probably every sport - when "home" game becomes a curse for you.
