CM launches country’s 1st ever Suthra Punjab program

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched Pakistan’s biggest “Suthra Punjab” program and also set target of Zero Waste Punjab in three months.

She inspected modern loaders, trucks and other equipment for cleaning purposes during a ceremony being held at the Expo Centre. She also witnessed a spray machine, road washer and e-bike. She also interacted with the staff and appreciated sanitary workers as well.

She while addressing the launching ceremony of “Suthra Punjab”, expressed her determination to achieve target of Zero Waste Punjab in three months. She said, “For the first time, the Punjab government has launched a program to clean cities and villages on uniformity basis. We thank Allah Almighty for launching ‘Suthra Punjab’ program across the province.

Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was felt overjoyed to hear about the launching of Suthra Punjab program. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif appreciated the uniform cleaning program of cities and villages.”

She added, “Keeping our streets and muhallahs like our own houses is our foremost duty. If everyone keeps their streets and muhallahs neat and clean, then Punjab will give a neat look. After few weeks, one lakh people will get employment.

Roads and streets will be washed and made neat and clean. The industry related to sanitation and waste management will be promoted. I felt pleased to see Murree neat and clean after many years. All kinds of machines are available for undertaking cleaning activities in Murree. As many as 21,000 modern machines and more than 80,000 equipment are being provided for cleaning and garbage collection across Punjab.”

She said, “I am working day and night to improve the lives of the people. Cleaning is half of faith, cleaners are not small but great people. Just as daughters keep their homes clean, a ‘daughter of Punjab’ will keep Punjab clean as well. The cleaners will get compensation under the minimum wage agreement. Instead of throwing garbage in a scattered manner, regular dumping sites are being built. After the tenure of Shehbaz Sharif, the metro bus track was destroyed. It seemed like a tin can is plying on the road. If Shehbaz Sharif’s government and work had continued, it is difficult to comprehend where Punjab would have been after six years and where would Pakistan be. I could not find Shehbaz Sharif’s developing Punjab. After Shehbaz Sharif’s end of tenure in Punjab, I found Punjab heading towards a disastrous four-year period of decline.”

CM Punjab said, “When I assumed office, I found only problems, dilapidated roads, poor sanitation system, schools and hospitals in a deteriorated condition. It is necessary to clean political filth from Pakistan like streets and muhallahs. Punjab province did not pay heed to repeated calls for committing vandalizing and saboteur activities. Not more than two dozen came out from any city to participate in the protest movement. Every call for protest was badly rejected. We have spent the previous four years in rallies and processions with the people, not even a pot has ever been broken. Those who claim themselves democratic should also behave in a democratic manner. As long as you continued to hold rallies and processions, no one stopped you.”

She said, “No one is willing to trust those who attacked their own country on May 9. Neither they are peaceful nor holding peaceful protests, no peaceful protest was carried out on November 24. Police and Rangers personnel were undergoing treatment at the same place in CMH. PTI protesters committed a lot of atrocities on the law enforcement personnel and I felt stunned to see condition of the injured personnel after visiting the hospital. The PTI workers captured Superintendent of Police alone and inflicted wounds on his head with nailed sticks. Where in the world such a peaceful protest is held? PTI failed to carry out any peaceful sit-in or protests since 2014.”

She added, “People of KPK are our brothers and cannot commit such unlawful activities. They are brave, courageous patriot Pathans. Foreigners were given money to commit violence, arson and vandalism. People armed with pistols and rifles came forward and shot at the police. Everyone saw funerals of Rangers and policemen. If a thousand people died, where were their funerals held? PTI claiming from 1,000 to 500, from 500 to 270 and now they claim only 12 people have died. The video of Bushra Bibi’s escape was shown. Why didn’t they make a video of killing people. If Rangers, police personnel or anyone’s life is lost, the prisoner sitting in Adiala prison is responsible for it.”

She said, “Who told you to do wrong and go to jail? If you allow them to play openly, they will commit bloodshed. Dozens of Rangers and police personnel have been badly injured and hospitalized. The mastermind is sitting in jail. This is a group of terrorists, it must be eradicated. If you commit unlawful activities then a stern action will be taken against you.”

The CM said that the longest agenda of the cabinet, which includes the welfare of the people has been approved today. As many as 1200 houses have been built under the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ project, 3500 more are going to be built, she said and added that one lakh houses will be built in 12 months. People’s lives are getting easier and comfortable. They earnestly pray for the well-being of the government, she added.

The Chief Minister said, “I want the KPK cabinet to also formulate plans for the welfare of people. The KPK cabinet discusses to purchase of tear gas shells and vehicles used for attacks. Government employees are made to launch attack by wearing plain clothes. Putting a province before the federation is a dangerous trend and a criminal mindset. It is the duty of every Pakistani to eliminate their criminal mindset. Otherwise, it will cause colossal loss in every respect. I want to thank the people of Punjab for rejecting the call for causing unrest and chaos. We will foil their nefarious designs with hard work and passion.”

She said, “I pray that may Shehbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif continue to serve their country and the nation in the same manner. Maryam Nawaz Sharif can be democratic activist, but not a violent activist. In peaceful protests, people convey their point of views to the relevant stakeholders. No one comes armed with weapons to hold a peaceful protest. We have also faced imprisonment, Nawaz Sharif did not ever said to get him out of jail otherwise he will not let the country run smoothly.”

She added, “The Punjab government has spent Rs. 26 billion through the ‘Kisan Card’. The country is heading towards higher elevation and improvement will be seen in every sector after every passing day. By the grace of Allah Almighty Pakistan will get its deserved exalted esteemed position. I thank to Allah Almighty that every single moment is spent for the welfare of the people.”

Provincial Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique in his address, gave details of Suthra Punjab Program and apprised that 60,000 tonnes of waste is generated on a daily basis. Unfortunately, only 20,000 waste was collected. No garbage will be seen anywhere in Lahore now. After identifying the garbage, it must be cleared within a few hours, otherwise the relevant company will be fined, he added.

Speaker Punjab Assembly, provincial ministers, assembly members, government officers and other relevant stakeholders were present.

I’m not sure if there’s already a thread on this, but I’ve seen a bunch of videos on TikTok, and people seem to be really positive feed back from the public, even PTI supporters are impressed with the project.

Its one road 10km?

Most in Pakistan do not have legitimate driving licence, surely this should be the priority?

Seems like another PR trick by the corrupt government to gain some popularity while looting the nation blind.
It's a great project, there is no need to badmouth someone just for the sake of it unless you actually live there and are aware of the ground realties.

It's a good concept if it is not just a PR stunt. I would be interested where they get the funding from for such projects.

I dont live there but I know many who do.

And also why spend money on this when there are huge issues, not least the air quality which results in hundreds of deaths or the lack of jobs etc etc?

Please explain why this is a great project instead of being offended as if you are Nawaz's cyclist instructor?

It's common sense this lane will control traffic and reduce accidents and pollution

As for air pollution

There will always be other issues it doesn't mean you stop focusing on development. There is a reason why Lahore is one of the most modern cities in Pakistan.

Canal road to lahore bridge is 10km unless you wanted the government to extend the road first to 100km and then start the work. This is the first most busiest road they are work on others will follow

And about legitimate licence

Marium nawaz has it all covered

Im sure she has everything covered apart from inspiring cops to be more corrupt. There is no chance even 20% of the drivers in Pak will have a legit driving licence if the cops are happy to take bribes. This is what the supporters of the corrupt never understand.

If you want a legit, decent discussion then be respect. otherwise go and give your opinion in other threads. This is for the development of Pak.

It’s the same police officers who were performing their duties under Imran Khan. Are you suggesting that they stopped taking bribes during his tenure and only resumed as soon as the government changed?

So, what exactly did Imran Khan do for development?

Many did. I visited Pak a few weeks after IK was PM, we were stopped by cops. They asked if im on holiday, I replied no, Im here to see if people are still openly corrupt, he smiled and didnt ask for a bribe, which I would never pay. Now its back to square one, cops robbing poor drivers, allowing criminals to get off by bribes.

These projects are no different to handing out laptops, they are PR exercises nothing more. Give them 50 years in Power and Lahore will continue to be a 3rd world city.

I was in Pakistan last year, travelling from city to city in hired cars, and on multiple occasions, there were spot checks where my driver was asked for his licence.

You're in Lahore learning how to ride a bike on the bike lane?

Of course they do checks but if you DONT have a licence, they will want money. You think they check to ensure the law is being upheld? lol

Issue is for PMLN Punjab is just Lahore. They dont expand this stuff in Pindi and other areas of Punjab

Typical, doesnt live in Pakistan so has no idea the reason behind such project
He thinks it’s one of those cycle lanes we have in the UK 🤣

Pakistan is heavily populated with motorbikes, and anyone with common sense knows how difficult it is to manage traffic with both motorbikes and cars together. It’s also incredibly dangerous due to the high risk of accidents.

Zardari and Nawaz fans are so quick to defend the corrupt. You and the other posters have PESONALLY benefited from corruption so have no credibility even if you're riding your worn out motorbike on this lane.

Up to 500 are KILLED in Lahore yearly but you think the roads are the same as Switzerland. This is the insane mind of those who will defend corruption, they are happy to look very silly.

500 are killed due to traffic management hence this motorbike lane duh

I don't try to dictate pakistani people like you imran khan supporters do bit of praise for pakistan development

I don't dictate either, my principle has always been let Pakistan people decide for themselves who they want for their leader. But that doesn't happen in a country where the elected govt is overthrown regularly by people on foreign payrolls.

Go search youtube, plenty of official news reports of accidents in Lahore. The main reason is corruption as MOST drivers cant drive, as they have never passed their test. The other reason is those who can drive, have no need to drive safely or properly as if pulled by cops, they pay them off.

This was due to traffic managment?

But Does that mean you can't praise anything positive that's happening in Pakistan? I do it for India too does that make me modi supporter

Thanks for the video it proves my point exactly.

There’s no mention of corruption, but it does state that a motorbike was involved. If there had been a motorcycle lane, this wouldn’t have happened. This is why the current government is doing the right thing by implementing motorcycle lanes to prevent such accidents.

@emranabbas you have no idea what rubbish is this, people in entire Punjab are cursing this government for destroying their shops in name of operation against encroachments.

Lol this does seem like a cheap PR stunt similar to how scam artists trap victims by luring them with promise of good returns on their investments then running away after looting them whole.

Yes the land mafia who have expanded their shops on land not owned by them

That's illegal in pakistan or any country in the world its illegal in UK too so government are doing the right thing

The roads are alot cleaner now and wide enough for everyone to do shopping peacefully

Pti supporters will look at it as a scam as their incompetent leader didn't do anything positive for development when he was in the office

logic of some people

Damaging government Buildings and causing terror on the streets by burning vehicles attacking the police ✅

Building new roads ❌
Building motor cycle lanes ❌
Claiming back land belong to government ❌

I already praised in my first post, with the caveat that it is not just a PR stunt. I also asked how it is funded because in a country like Pakistan which is in severe debt, services like this in one province might mean cutbacks in others.

Had it been Buzdar actually doing something, they would had made 3 threads on it by now

There is no justification for encroachment.

Even under PTI Afridi tried to do this but got removed for it

than where are the police reforms that PTI promised?

or does traffic law not come under PTI govt.

Infact PTI is sitting in the opposition, why cant they table a bill regarding it? Or maybe PTI members dont know how to table a bill

Its not that expensive to build a road. Budget concerns are when you have to build a flyover, under pass etc. So building a road wont put Punjab govt in debt.

But yes, there is one issue with PMLN is that they concentrate on Lahore too much and ignore other cities.

I agree with this, but it’s a global issue. Even here in the UK, central London feels like a completely different world compared to areas outside of it, which often look rundown.

Regards to suthra punjab project that's been carried out throughout punjab including small villages.

PTI did clamp down on corrupt cops, now they are even more corrupt than before, not just taking money off poor people but killing them for their corrupt leaders. Are you in Pakistan or moved back to India?

how can pti clamp down on corrupt cops?

I think you need to stop watching bollywood movies and stop imagining things.

The only way to clamp down on corrupt cops is by introducing a bill that states any cop invovled in corruption his career would be over. In Pakistan you can only be suspended which means getting days off before going back to work.

Does PTI have a looney toon network that gives you such news?

You lived there with your family working for him. Regardless if it was you or not , someone in your family did. This is why nobody on planet earth takes you seriously when it comes to Pak politics.

No they had a brain and are not thieves, its not rocket science. Im sure Zardari clamps down on cops too by dropping 50 rupee notes on their heads to attack someone.

I yet to see what imran khan did to route out corruption

Pakistan does seem like a country run by a mafia cartel who is exploiting the country building their own empire and every once in a while do a little bit of good throw bone to the poor to get some kind of ligetimacy with them. Some people will fall for it but the vast majority will hate them.

I think you aren't aware of ground realities, who in the world removes sun shades or trampolines in the name of encroachments. Vendor carts, bill boards and the real encroachments understandable but is this stupidness. It's Pakistan where summer remains for 9 months.

Some say people could walk more freely but how will they keep with heat strokes. Especially in such thoroughfares in Punjab where entire bazaars had extended entire road/street lengths trampoline installed with the consent of all vendors and customers.

The sunshades extends the shops under which the shopkeeper puts his goods when in reality that should have been a path for customers to walk on instead of the roads

It doesn't make any different to general public because they never walkunder those shades so if they not had a stroke before they won't now either

It's much safer for the customer to be inside the shop with AC and fans in the shade instead of the road where motorcycles cars carts are passing by that's how it is in other developed countries

No I'm doing fairly good for myself and I'm well connected in Pakistan. I don't live inside an elite bubble being condescending toward anyone below me neither do I live in a cult worhipping bhutto, zardari, nawaz and imran

That is the general perception of most outside nations, that the military is the real powerbroker in the country, and the institutions are rife with corruption. What is interesting is that one of the biggest critics of Pakistan @Major is in here defending the govt, and presumably the Sharif clan and their PMLN party.

Does that mean he is a supporter of this govt and trusts the establishment?

So Billlo and the other form 47s are in power with every part of society in total control. From the SC to the Millitary, to Bureaucracy to media and not forgetting they passed a constitutional amendment with only 50 legit seats, and you are telling me they can't stop police corruption🤣🤣🤣

But who created the corruption? PK has been run by Millitary and the dynasties for all but 3 of its 77 year history. So let's see an explanation.
but you seem to be ok when milltary was with you. Where were this rhetoric before?

I think you are describing what is commonly referred to as an election in civilised countries. And I think you will see that we had one on the 8th Feb and the people did decide for IK and the PTI, until the mafia decided that form 47 was the way to go on the 9th February.

PTI is a one man army that exists due to Imran Khan. Fans of PTI exist because of Imran Khan not because it's some amazing revolutionaly party. In Pakistan you can't succeed if you don't negotiate and compromise on your moral principles and Imran Khan was no different. He made a deal with the devil thinking he could make a difference once he was in power. Whether he was dishonest, stupid or genuinely naive is up for debate but people were behind him and behind the army at the same time. Army having a fallout with Imran Khan did a lot of damage to their reputation and a lot of shady things army had been involved in that weren't previously highlighted were now amplified. You can give benefit of doubt to the PTI workers for being stupid or not, it's up to you but there's no excuse for pmln and ppp supporters who have seen this cycle repeat for decades and keep coming back as if nothing has happened and all is forgiven when they are in power. PTI supporters maybe dumb but PMLN and PPP supporters are the worst.

Who made ZAB? Who did he take his oath from as Foreign Minister? Why did he break up the country to get power and swore at our BD brothers and stole the mandate of Mujeeb. ZAB without the Generals would never have been PM

The PTI was created in 1996 but apparently the Generals waited until 2018 to give them power. 🤣🤣🤣

oh wow, so you dont even know the basics of this party.

Its own founding leaders have admitted the armys backing, the whole case against Faiz Hameed has been abut this.

Army went after PMLN and MQM, both which they created. Army makes and uses parties like tissue paper.

Can you shed some light on the purpose of creating PTI by the army in 1996? How was PTI used by the army until 2013 when their popularity snowballed?

So Now we learn that Faiz created the PTI in 1996 with a time machine.🤣🤣🤣
What is the case against Faiz. Can you actually enlighten us because IK has said do what you want to Faiz and all of us have said the same.
