What's new

Congratulations Sachin Tendulkar on hundred 100s! [Finally!]

What a joke this Teenda is. Selfish player selfish 100 and lost the match.

This is symbolic - its nature's way of telling us that yes he has got his 100 tons but it had to be against Bangladesh, on a flat deck, so flat that even Bangladesh can score nearly 300 to win with just 4 wickets down!

Did anyone honestly expect Tendulkar to get his 100th ton against Australia or England in a test match with Indian in deep crisis and needing a legend to stand up and show why he should be recognised as The Best batsman in the world.

Have said it before and will say it again yes he has a tons of runs , but Tendulkar is just a batting machine - he does not have the charisma, personality or character of a champion sportsman! one who can win matches for his team when the chips are down and when all eyes are on him..

Give me a match winner like Brian Lara or Inzamam or a match saver like Miandad or Rahul Dravid ahead of a batting machine any day of the week.

well congrats to Sachin but three points stand out in this 'achievement':

1. He did it against Bangladesh of all the teams
2. He took sooo long to do it
3. India may lose as Sachin has scored a 100 (we will have to wait and see though)

:)

point 3 now reads .. 3. India have lost as Tendu scored 100

hahahahah take that tendy

:)) Congrats Sachinistas. 100th 100 Mubarak ho. I mean who cares if the country lost as long as the dude got his hundred, right?

A typical, run of the mill SRT hundred. A selfish innings to get the record (scored in 140 deliveries, SR 70) while the team loses. Congrats to SRT on the 100.

ROFLing @ cricindia's headline ordering.

A century of centuries for Tendulkar
Bowlers put West Indies on top
Cook shines but others struggle
Cairns a 'scapegoat' court hears

Mushfiqur completes incredible heist

Wow, I thought when Tendulkar finally gets his ton it would be a bit doom and gloom here BUT India have managed to change that :yk :yk

CRICINFO : What makes this very pleasing for Bangladesh's point of view was the collective effort. Tamim provided the base, Nasir accelerated when it mattered, Shakib was given the freedom to attack thanks to Nasir and Mushfiqur added the final blows. In the midst of this revelry, somehow Sachin's century is pushed to the background.

CRICINFO : Om: "This has become a routine to India. How come India lose such a match. Poor planning.. poor captaincy. Sachin created a milestone and others broke it. :'("

How ironic to think that on the day India get humiliated like this by Bangladesh.. Tendulkar will getting phone calls of congratulations !

only if we had a Ajmal instead of these jokers

You forgot the century scoring joker!! 25 overs LOL!!

Now for the next record, Tendulkar's 50th ODI hundred, a 30 over innings for 101 runs against Pakistan and India loose again.

NH mate, now I can't wait to see that trilogy being completed, you have the perfect script :))

Dhoni: "They played better cricket throughout. At the start of the Powerplay our bowlers felt the pressure, a bit more runs on the board would have been better. The youngsters will learn more. Bangladesh can play really well on their day, they used the conditions well, their reverse swing bowling was good. We have been waiting for a long time for Sachin to get this (hundred)."

Most International Hundreds in the history of the game -

Fullscreen-capture-1632012-62623-PM.bmp.jpg

You care about his 100th century, and don't care about India losing ?

OMG, is this guy rubbing it in or something? Shaqib giving interview in high pitched voice, followed by several clearings of the throat. :)))

Well Tendulkar opened the innings and played till 47 overs scoring a century in the process!!
Guess that must be long enough for Dhoni!!:55:

Tendulkar awarded a plaque as a footnote to the presentation. I feel sorry for him... almost. :))

He did not deserve man of the match award.

He is a great player, but today he played selfishly.

When you play selfishly, you should never be given MOM.

How ironic that the most anticipated day for Indian fans which has been awaited for so long through missing out in the WC, getting out lbw to Bresnan in England, caught off Michael Clarke at slip etc etc has turned into a more memorable and enjoyable day for Pakistani fans.

Out of 300 balls in the innings, tendu plays half (147 to be precise) and scores 114. Others made 175 in same amount of deliveries. Biiiiiig difference - anyone still defending that tendu is not selfish and why they lost today??

Tendu in death overs till he got his 100 (mind you they were only 2 down)

39.2 Shakib Al Hasan to Tendulkar, no run, 86.6 kph, shuffles and clips it to the on side
39.3 Shakib Al Hasan to Tendulkar, 1 wide, 80.3 kph, drifts down the leg side and he nearly gets a tickle
39.3 Shakib Al Hasan to Tendulkar, 1 run, 84.8 kph, floated down the leg side and he tucks it to the on side, 95 now
40.1 Abdur Razzak to Tendulkar, 1 run, 90.1 kph, flater delivery on the pads and he clips him wide of square leg
40.3 Abdur Razzak to Tendulkar, 1 run, 92.0 kph, gets forward and pushes it late to mid-on, 97 now
40.5 Abdur Razzak to Tendulkar, no run, 81.7 kph, he risks staying back at the crease and clips it, very close to the pads
40.6 Abdur Razzak to Tendulkar, 1 run, 82.6 kph, more flight this time and he goes to 98 with a gentle clip to the leg side, he retains the strike too
41.1 Shakib Al Hasan to Tendulkar, no run, 81.4 kph, tossed up on middle and off and pushed down to mid-off
41.2 Shakib Al Hasan to Tendulkar, no run, 82.9 kph, uses his feet and he can only drive back to the bowler
41.3 Shakib Al Hasan to Tendulkar, no run, 82.2 kph, shuffles and tries to steal a single to the on side, Rahim rushes and stops it
41.4 Shakib Al Hasan to Tendulkar, 1 run, 83.5 kph, goes to 99 with a gentle push to long-off, just one run away
42.5 Abdur Razzak to Tendulkar, no run, 88.6 kph, and nope! Will have to wait, clipped straight to midwicket
42.6 Abdur Razzak to Tendulkar, no run, 88.2 kph, he can only softly punch it to short extra cover, mid-off had gone back, the wait continues...
43.4 Shakib Al Hasan to Tendulkar, 1 run, 84.2 kph, and he's finally done it! Clips it down to square leg and jogs the single, very subdued celebration, he must be mightily relieved but he's not showing it, removes his helmet, the Bangladesh fie;lder congratulate him, 100 international centuries - we may never see it emulated, well done Sachin! Take a bow

Always thought this thread was going to fail in the thread.. had to but O boy this thread WON! No glory for tendulkar LOL

I was a gr8 Sachin fan but never that die hard. India comes first to me. I knew it when he played a maiden when he was in 80s that India is going to lose. This is highly selfish and shameful for India. Dhoni knows our bowling is bad and thats why he has been saying that we need more than 300. agreed the bowling was bad but that was a 300plus wicket. Very selfish innings from Sachin. we deserve this loss. hopefully this will open a lot of eyes

That is 6 runs in 14 deliveries, in slog overs, with only 2 wickets down. This must be criminal for his team - but hey he got his 100. Lol :)))

Congratulations to Sachin Tendulkar. He can finally move on I think, it isn't his fault India's bowling is incredibly poor.

He has served their country wonderfully well and the game of cricket too. Well done.

BUT Sachin wasn't thinking about the milestone

After being dismissed for 114, he said: "I was not thinking about the milestone. It hasn't sunk in."

:))) :))) :)))

+1

and this Century would never be forgotten!

Teenda, living on his legacy :sachin

Yes he was thinking about setting a winning total on this track. I bet when in his 90s Teenda had nothing in his mind not the match, not the target to set, not the tournament, but just his 100th SHATAK.

well done, but seriously, he 'chooses' bangladesh I heard? erm NO. it's because he couldn't do it against any other team. :)))
but thank God it wasnt against us, or it would be embarrassing!

Sometimes I wonder if Tendulkar really is a product of his longevity. He's a great player but are the stats due to his greatness or longevity?

Paradox should get an award for this thread.. This thread last good. Enjoyed till the very end of todays game :))

Dude, he is one of the greats, no one can deny that. But it's also true that he puts his records above everything else - today was a great example.

Namak Halal could use this for his new video, which i am sure about to release soon on PP. lol

If you read my post you'd see that I called him a great. But longevity has played a great role in his records.

No mate, he has been a consistent performer, year after year. Longevity means nothing if he wasn't a great player. However when it comes to individual records vs team - we all know where his heart is. Sorry can't stop laughing :)))

Lock thread in 12 hours otherwise Indians will attempt to permanently ruin it and the memory :ibutt

True.

Congrat Tendulkar for your century of centuries. Who cares if India loses to BD. You got your century and that's what we care for. Amazing feat. I will take your century any day over a loss. I knew India will lose, once I watched you score a century.

Oh this is funny. Congrats on achieving your 100th 100! Against Bangladesh! And then losing!

Now THIS is the perfect script!

His first century against us after 11 tries. Well done Sachin. You are one of the greatest ever to play the game. Congrats on something that may not be broken ever (and I thought it would be difficult to break gavaskar's mile stone).

Lovely snail like hundred to bat 147 bals you would expect most batsmen to maybe get 150+ in a ODI. well done Mr selfish! another hundred in a losing cause!

Others scored 175 in approx same number of balls. If he was out for zero, BD would have been chasing 350 or something. The only reason India won against SL was tenda was out cheaply and they could bat properly and reach 300.

what a perfect ending to such a long thread, could not have scripted it better if we wanted to, here we thought wouldnt it be funny for sach to score his hundred in the 4-0 defeats to england or aus, but no sach had bigger plans.

a true genius of cricket and comic timing. :19: to you sach

what an Anti climax for this thread... amazing... even the Tendulkar 100 unable to stop this thread... my word...
