With that being said, when it comes to THE GOAT, all you need to do is take out goals from both players, watch them BOTH play and it's not debatable. Messi just has so much more to his game.

That's a strange criteria. Why is it QF onward? You can sometimes get the most difficult team in the first knock out stage. For a long time the champions went out at that stage. Messi scored a late winner for Barcelona, lifted his shirt, broke mine, yours and every Madridista's heart. I almost cried after that. Did not sleep that night. Did not open the phone for whole day. Never saw the replay of that goal till this day. Whenever there is a replay of that goal, I change the channel or look away. My heart still burns the same the way it did that night.

We won Liga and CL regardless of that loss. But the fire was still there in our hearts ( mine atleast). It felt like we might win 50 titles but it won't put that fire out.

That run, that goal, that celebration.

It was pure torture.

I am a Messi fan, but the situations were somewhat different. Ronaldo's celebration was when there were ten minutes left, while Messi's was right before the full-time whistle. Still, the red card was not such a big deal, but pushing the referee proved to be a truly costly error and obviously had nothing to do with avenging the previous El Clasico defeat.
