I think the wrong Pakistan have turned up with the bat.

Looking very nervy.

Openers had to settle.
 
younis and/or moyo have to remain till around 35th over. after that akmal, afridi, rana, can take us to 250+.

I have a good feeling tbh
 
Must say NZ fielding has been top-notch today. They are bowling/fielding to their potential at the moment, testing out the patience of our batsmen

Of course I am still here. Dont take everything uttered here to heart and strat reacting. When we lose wickets, people usually react with such statements.. we are leaving.. i am going to sleep.. no use watching this match anymore.. i'd rather watch the paint on my wall dry.. and so on.

But we are all still here. More often than not.
 
Other than Bond and Vettori this is a harmless attack. As long as YK and MoYo remain there and get their rhythm going we definitely have 260+ on the cards
 
yk and moyo have started well...picking up singles nicely

260 won't do it on this pitch..remember our guys have a habit of playing nothing shots...one set attacking batsmen like muccullum and the game will be over in a hurry
 
So far so good. Just don't get bocked down and take four singles every over.
 
nice and easy does it...

nz bowlers will not be able to contain us if we keep wickets in hand until the 40th over...

I don't support selfish players who are tools and do damage to the team...like he could have done with Akmal's runout...

There is nobody in this Kiwi side besides McCullum and Taylor.
 
i dont think these 2 will have any problems batting for next 20 overs or so, with this good pitch, and average bowling attach.....but the thing with these 2 is, if the go at around 4.5 an over, we will struggle to go past 250
 
New Zealand look up for it and confident.

Pakistan look like Indian last week, totally overawed by the situation at the moment, but it's early days..momentum can change quickly.

What is a good score here, does YK know?

this is a better batting pitch than yesterdays at centurion...so 2 good set batsmen is all you need

Remember we are also bowling under lights where there is always more movement for the pacers. In addition, NZ have a very thin batting lineup with all their hopes basically resting on Ross Taylor and McCullum. As far as I am concerned anything above 250 will be enough here
 
Moyo - terrible runner. Some things never change....

NZ fielding, once again! They are just playing on our patience, doing nothing special

Its upto our batsman to take the calculated risks

At the toss he said, we can defend anythting over 200....
 
Yousuf almost run out, he is lucky Guptill just threw it on his dive. He could have gotten up and still run him out.
 
When was the last time Moyo has been runout? I think he may be due very soon.

Doesn't look like a 200 pitch at all..

What YK needs to decide is whether it's more a 240 pitch or 320 pitch.

The 200 to defend against Australia was a real dodgy pitch, uneven bounce and the like.
 
Am I the only one who gets nervous watching YOusaf play left arm spinners?

Yeah seems a bit over confidene. I know its a DN but still, we should aim 260-270. But need to consolidate for a bit since our batsmen can't bat when there is any bounce.

i dont think he was saying that...if anything what he was saying is that he has confidence in his bowling to defend anything over 200...
 
Must not forget scoring ones and twos. Wake up Moyo. A Dhoniesque 5 from 17 is no good.

no it is a belter, but the newzealand bowlers gave nothing away.

pak bowlers should learn from that
 
Nice over to start for Vettori, getting some nice drift as well. He will have to be played very carefully today. We basically have 30 overs of mediocre bowling mixed with 20 overs of world class and we have to mix our aggression with defense well today
 
We can't let Vettori bowl his 10 overs 0-20 today. He needs to be attacked.
