Very interesting tactics from the Aussies. Pick all of your high-class bowlers from the Ashes series and bowl first at the toss.

It may well work, but looking at the teamsheets the length of their batting order has been sacrificed.

So if England weather the storm and manage to post a score of 300-ish, it could be very competitive.

two of their bowlers(cummins and starc) can bat

213/6, 8 overs to go. Barring a late Buttler special then the Aussies will start as firm favourites in the run chase now. That said England do have the bowlers to take advantage of the slow and low conditions - Woakes, Rashid, Ali, Root.

Ian Healy doing the usual “easy run chase” Aussie cheerleading on commentary. Even Slater is telling him to cool it.

Your wish has come true ... Buttler in scintillating form. England limited overs side is the best in the world even without stokes!

303 to win, thanks to a brutal Woakes 52* and Buttler with a majestic 100* !!

Can we now call England favourites to wrap up the series 3-0 tonight?

Ice-man scores a century. What a player!

Goes to show BD 2-1 loss to Eng is heavily underrated.

Woakes is batting well so I fear Mooen will be dropped once Stokes comes back.

Amazing counterpunch by Buttler (100*) and Woakes (53*) to take England to 302/6 (50 ov) after they had been reduced to 189/6! Australia will need to do something special to get past this confident England side #AusvEng #Cricket

Can't remember the last time Aussies were dominated in ODIs at home. England really has given teams a blueprint to build a versatile & potent line up from 1 to 11! There's room for improvement in their bowling attack but they will start as favorites for WC '19.

Hands down the best top 6 in ODIs right now when Stokes returns. Envious!

Yep replace Moeen with Stokes in this side and it starts to become difficult to pick any faults with it. Even Rashid whose economy rate sometimes goes haywire usually chips in with a few wickets and bowls a good wrongun.

Butler has run away with the game here. Comes to bat with his side reeling at 110-4 and has played a fantastic knock.

England batting is the prefect model for modern ODI batting.

South Africa 5-0 Australia was that series played in Aus or SA???? Not sure though

Still not quite sure why Cameron White has been brought back, he looks pretty stodgy out there. Can’t get Mark Wood off the square.

Playing Cameron White ahead of maxwell was always going to be a disaster.

White out : 45/2 * (9.1/50 ov, target 303)
Australia require another 258 runs with 8 wickets and 40.5 overs remaining

Looks like Woakes improved his hitting and shots range.facing fastbowlers with full confidence in last 2 innings like a top order batsman.

Smith batting at SR of 67 chasing 300+ total. Just like Pak batsmen. The problem is if he fails to finish the game or at least leave Australia in a strong position.

Australia were looking dangerous until Rashid got Finch. Since then they have slowed the run rate down massively.

And pakistanis lay into their bowling attack if they concede 270 plus .
Gun batting lineups will score 300 on most days , just the way modern cricket is .

Cant believe how it was given out by umpires. The decision should be given on technology and not soft signal because the umpites themseleves aren't sure

Smith the ODI player does not seem to be anywhere near Smith the Test player.

Really wanna see Stoinis do some damage. Butler, Pandya and him are my favorite hitters in the world atm. What I can't savor in Pak team I gotta find from the other teams (power hitting).

Still don't know how we beat this England side (yes slow pitch played a slight part).

Can't even tell the difference of Stokes not being there have any impact.

Given Ali’s horror form and Crane’s youth, Rashid could be on for a Test recall soon.

In an ideal world the test side should have been.....

Stoneman
Cook
Root
Bairstow
Malan
Stokes
Foakes
Rashid
Plunkett
Anderson
Wood

It would have still lost but that attack would have turned up the mph and the spin revs and taken more wickets.

Anyway a good chance for England to go three-nil up here!

Think I'm going to order this England jersey, looks cool and lives up to the brand with the way they're playing.

Brilliant bowling from Rashid and Wood in this match.

Stoinis reminds me of Dhoni. The demeanor, style of batting. Very much alike.

Paine is rubbish, Stonis should have been turning down singles.

Man this is quite a fall for the Aussies, they lack quality while England look like world beaters.

There is no standout odi batsmen in this Australian side. You won't feel threatened by anyone bar Warner who is highly inconsistent.

Huge series win for England, they needed this after the drubbing in the Ashes.

Well done England to win their first ever bilateral ODI series in Australia. Can they make it 5-0?

England have won 18 of their last 21 ODIs.

Impressive captaincy by Morgan after losing eight overs from one of his fast bowlers.

Australia right now can only beat like of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

Need to act fast for the world cup

Paine and white should retire now.
Alex Carey looking best wk batsman in Australia in bbl.
Move stoinis up the order and groom Ashton turner as a finisher.

Why can't Bancroft replace Paine in ODIs ? He atleast can bat

England have won the ODI series down under! Excellent death bowling as the hosts finish on 286/6 falling 16 runs short of their target despite a fighting innings of 56 by Marcus Stoinis. Jos Buttler's carnage proved to be the difference between the two teams in the end.

Wow thisenglish side is just incredible. They got 100 in last 10 having been six down. Have to say woakes has developed remarkably as a loi player

Did anyone catch the last comment by Vaughn about how ICC favour India or Pakistan in an ICC final? This was on BT sport. I walked in as the show was ending so just trying to understand the context behind it.

Because he has been doing well in BBL, a solid player at 3 and let Maxwell play at 7.
Carey doing better than Bancroft scored 100 in bbl.Maxwell should not get back that easily in one day team without substantial performances when Ashton turner playing fantastic knocks as a finisher in bbl.

England are just ferocious with the bat, which makes Pakistan choking them for runs look even more impressive. I said this elsewhere but I'll say it again, this is the best batting unit in ODI cricket this decade.

Yes I saw that. Think he believes the pitch in Cardiff was suited to favour Pakistan so that they could meet India in the final thus generating more profit etc... He shouldn't be throwing accusations around like that as a paid pundit without any proof.

Woakes too deserves the credit for some serious hitting somehow he outclassed buttler

Outstanding performance from England after losing the test series.

Congratulations England! The last bilateral series they lost was in India last year i think. Very strong bilateral ODI team these days.

5-0 coming...
Would be a mega phaintey.....
Will silence Australian media

Who made what comment????
