Showing once again why Brummies are the best in the world shaz619

Bah gawd, Mo has won the battle of the beards once again. Imagine that jobber Rashid was bowling, SA would be 300-1 by now. Rashid is a futuristic leg spinner, he thinks cricket is played on a hovering wicket :yk Markhor

Moeen Ali, the best all-rounder in the world. English discipline with that Pakistani X-Factor.

Easily the most valuable England cricket player, I've been saying it for years. He's all set to end his career as the greatest British Asian to have represented England

Big Mac the Yorkshire quota is holding back the potential of England's team at the international level, imagine there were 3 more Brummies in the team goodness me may god have mercy on the opposing teams

This is a total flat pitch with a hint of turn now on Day-2.

SA should look to score at least 400.

2nd innings will be very interesting when the ball turns and keeps low.

That ball turned lot!!!! And this is Day 2. I think, Poms have missed a trick by not picking Adil here; even that Masson Crane (%#%##) kid is good.

Lol. Have you watched even a little bit of this game?

Dawson is awful. Should have played Adil Rashid in this game.

Fantastic crowd! Test cricket will never die in AUS/ ENG/ IND.

It's so pleasing to see all whites and red ball... bliss! Real format for real men.

Yup, get Woakes back into the team and Sam Hain in a year or two and this team will keep the mace forever.

You can add BD as well, as long as team is performing. If AUS comes, I do expect sell out days, if homebteam is winning. The gallery in BD test matches is a bit misleading, because Mirpur is a massive stadium - capacity is listed at 26K, though not sure how they counted that. Average 150K crowd for a 2 Test series should be quite good - that's enough for few sell out days for most UK Test venues.

MMHS is a better leg spinner then Adil Rashid

98/2 good effort Elgar, hopefully he can see SA through this session

Warwickshires current positioning suggests otherwise :mv.

Big Mac Moeen's skin fade hair cut is so bad @ss

Look at Amla :))) did you get a gif of that loser Big Mac

How many of your bums are helping England out at the moment :yk and didn't you get bowled for like 20 runs in an FC game recently :))

What odd alternative version of the county championship are you watching? Are Warwickshire doing anything other than competing for the best placed relegation spot in your version?

He's rubbish

Exceptional talent, his value is known to the England team which is why they have persisted with him for so long and he has delivered for his country. Proud proud brummies Mo and Woakes; match winners, they put the I in IMPACT !

Still, he is the best Poms can line up - at least far better than the 2nd offie with 151 wickets on 126th FC match, who was picked to squeeze runs - ended up giving 29 in 4 overs!!!!!

Which deformed universe do you live in where Brum has not contributed immensely to the England team with talent like Mo and Woakes ? I see your dumpster has contributed zilch

Moeen is a top class player, who gives Poms lots of balance. He is just a shed below making the team on batting only, but has given valuable 35 overs/Test. I feel, England isn't using Moeen to full extent - he & Stokes (& Johny) gives Poms a fantastic opportunity to play 4 specialist bowlers on bowling merit only.

South Africa are pants.

How does Duminy keep getting in the team? Can barely hold a bat.

Ball is spinning miles for Moeen Ali.

SA in trouble. Looks like they are playing on rank turners in India.

South Africa should avoid the follow on atleast. Then take it as far as possible.

Just for discussion - what would have been SAF's possible best XI without race quota or injury -

1. Elgar
2. Amla
3. FaF
4. AB
5. Open spot (may be Rossou)
6. Kok
7. Open spot (May be an all rounder)
8. Mahraj
9. Phillander
10. Styen
11. Rabada

Roughly, they are missing 4 key players for either quota, injury or self exile

Ball is misbehaving a lot. Turning and keeping low.

SA should look to attack. There is no point going into a shell. Only a matter of time before they get a ball that turns a mile and keeps low.

England won't enforce the follow on even if they bowl the Saffers out today.

I am talking about from moral perspective and inner confidence, regardless of Root's decision, if Proteas can avoid the follow on, it will slightly motivate them to bowl better in 2nd innings and dig deep.

I am closer to test level than Rashid is.

How many wickets did you take on your last tour of India? Last I checked, Rashid was top of the pile, not Big Maccy.

Watching.

Nothing for pacers today. Ball going gun barrel straight. Spinners are getting a little bit of purchase today.

Watch Rabada's delivery to Moeen.

Duminy batting at #4

Solid 15 from the young talent today. Deserves a long rope.

So now it's doing something, huh?

Moeen Ali should be batting at #5 for England in all formats. He's vastly underrated but continues to be one of England's biggest match-winners. Great innings with the bat and great stuff with the ball thus far.

Moeen > Stokes.

Nothing for pacers barring the occasional ones. That can happen even on subcontinent flat beds.

Ball is turning now and some are turning square and keeping low.

Nothing for pacers though.

This looks more like a subcontinent track. A bit of assistance for pacers in the early morning and then nothing for them. Spinners already having their say on Day-2.

I didn't get picked because in Birmingham we have proper cricketers like Moeen and Woakes ahead of me and shaz619, unlike Yorkshire where clowns like Rashid end up making it all the way to first class level.

I might have to move up north or down south next year and start my climb to international level.

Moeen > Stokes.

No room to move him up in the ODI side and pushing him up in the test side would mean moving Bairstow back to 7 which in itself is a waste.

Moeen would be a seriously dodgy No.5, but he is a great No.7. Leave him where he is and he will keep producing these impish lower order knocks.

Also, Liam Dawson needs to find his feet in this match pretty quickly, or we could unfortunately have a 2-Test wonder on our hands here.

Such proper cricketers located there that Warwickshire are protesting the lack of talent in other areas around the country by being bottom of the table in both competitions so far this season. :rp

Coming from a Hamshire fan that last won the championship in 1973 :yk WCC have won 7 ! While you scratched and clawed for 2 :( WCC is an ATG club with rich history. You are a little bug with minnow mentality :broad

And Woakes and Moeen are both from Birmingham you doofus, the city has done it's bit to contribute to the national team , what have you lot done recently besides making a very good pie and bannana milkshake :yk3 Big Mac

Have to give other, objectively inferior, counties a few wins to ensure that they keep playing cricket. If we tried then we'd be so dominant that everybody else would stop playing cricket because receiving regular phainty from Warwickshire wouldn't be fun for them.

That's why Warwickshire don't have eleven Brummies in the team for every game, it wouldn't be fair.

God forbid, England would be relegated to the World Cricket League to play alongside Nepal, Uganda and Kenya if that was to happen.

It was Yorkshire's finest who scored the 190 to get England out of jail in 1st innings.

If Bavuma and de Bruyn can stay till the end, another 45 mins, then it is game on.

Forget Nepal, Uganda and Kenya; if this Yorkshire/Snobbery quota continues England will not even be allowed to play China so all the coconuts should shut it :broad

Yeah that FTB feasted on the out of rhythm Rabada, faded Morkel and genius spin of Maharaj. Yorkshireman are the kings of soft runs, the moment the going gets tough they lose their marbles; I doubt they have any to begin with.

Guess you gotta live in the past when your team can't back it up with performances right now. Anyway, that's the end of that discussion, sure the world beaters in Birmingham will enjoy division 2 cricket next season :yk2.

Is Afridi playing for Hampshire today in T20 Blast?

I'm a huge critic of the quota system but frankly speaking, Bavuma is damn good. I can see him becoming one of the best batsmen of the next decade. Great temprament, good technique and a strong back lift.

Not seen Du Bruyn before but I like his batting style. Reminds me of Trescothick, minimal foot movement but with a good eye, and very adept at biffing balls to the boundary.

I understand completely, it's just fundamentaly flawed.

Jimmy has looked amazing today and gets his first wicket at an important time!

And you're talking as if you have won the CC, I suppose the current no.3 position for Ham is a cause for celebration :yk WCC are struggling now no doubt but you shall remain a minnow eternally while the city of Brum still contributes to England team with the likes of Ali and Woakes :akhtar

Going well for England.

The wicket will become harder to bat on with shooters, and skiddy Wood could clean up in the second dig.

Great wicket at the end for Anderson. England will want a lead of at least 100. Would be difficult for South Africa to escape from such a situation on a pitch that is already taking some serious turn.

Nasser saying there's rumours that Rabada will receive a suspension for the next test due to a send off given to Ben Stokes.
