What's new

England beat Pakistan by 330 runs in the 2nd Test

Younis is the worst batsman in history to average 50+ in Test cricket.

Will need to review the list of 50+ averaging batsmen but I wouldn't be surprised if I agreed with you on this.

Truly embarrassing.

Warney and Lloyd are literally in disbelief as to how his record is up there with the greats of the game.

Again, this was expected from Younus by a select minority of PP.

Hafeez is much better when attacking the spinner. Often gets out defending

Last over before lunch. Wont be surprised if Woakes gets it. Gets a wicket against us in his first over

Younis is a victim of too much cricket on slow, low wickets. He's still a gun in the subcontinent but there's no way you can reasonably expect him to score any runs on seaming wickets when he bats like a tail ender.

What's the chance of PCB asking Babar Azam to stay behind?

Pakistan play a warm up match against Worcestershire on Friday, will it be a good decision to let him play and maybe open with Azhar Ali in the next test and have Babar in the middle order. Babar is a better batsmen than Iftikhar and Sami Aslam.

I'm assuming the Pakistan A team will be heading back home today or tomorrow.

Yup.

Azhar Ali has been found out against the inswinger.

Outside off line was always a worry for him because sometimes he used to hang his bat out and get knicked, but in this series England have shown another huge flaw in his technique that he falls over and you can get him out by bowling fast and straight and he will miss the delivery that clips the leg stump

so far 3 of his 4 dismissals have been balls that start from straight and end up clipping leg stump because he's falling over

Pujara had the same trouble in his tour too.

Yk always starts off scratchy against pace more so than a lot of great batsmen. If he can stick in though he adapts and gets better. Kind of irritating hafeez looks decent again should have scored big first innings but threw it away and will probably do the same this time too.

Mamoon. I agree with a lot you say but this I will have to disagree on. Younis should've retired about 4 years ago. Is real age is 41 and his reflexes are just not with it anymore. Younis has scored all over the world against the best attacks. His recent record is putting his legacy down the gutter.

I agree with this. He did fine as an overseas player for Yorkshire and South Australia, into his thirties.

There is a reason why so few top international batsmen are still playing at 40. It doesn't matter how hard you train, you lose your hand-eye coordination and reflexes.

But who is he better than in the 50+ average club?

I'm sure if you dig deep and look up the list of batsmen who have retired with 50+ averages in Test cricket, you will agree that Younis is the worst batsman of the lot.

Can Pakistan last till day 5 I don't think so

I'd take Younus over Yousuf, Yousuf is much better to watch but at least Younus isn't a bottler. He's better than David Warner as well.

No demons in this pitch whatsoever. These 2 just need to grind themselves in and take up as much time as possible out of the game. Wud be great to see a 200 partnership

If Pakistan has to draw this, these two will have to bat out the rest of this day.

Would be a MASSIVE mental blow to England if Pakistan manages to draw this

Younis trying his best to get out honestly tell you about his mindset.

It would be one of the greatest (if not the greatest) draw ever in terms of overs played to draw the game from here.

Something similar was done by Faf du Plessis in Australia, I believe, but not to this degree.

These two just need to frustrate English bowlers. We may lose this test but we have to FIGHT and we can't demoralize our bowlers

68 overs today and 98 tomorrow , enough overs to chase down the target.

If it is cloudy and murky and we get to tea tomorrow with plenty of wickets remaining then they might call it off sooner.

First target should be to get to the end of the day with these two at the crease, or max one more wicket down

I want us to get at least 300 here. There is nothing tricky about this pitch. Younis and Hafeez need to play themselves in form here.

Pakistan should not gift their wickets to Woakes or Stokes. Treat them like Finn :P

I hope we get to the end of play today and tomorrow is completely washed out.. Would love to see Cook's face

If we manage to draw this, phir tou press up buntay hain.. :afridi

Yar this pitch is very easy to be honest can't believe Azhar mucked it up twice now

Great single. These two have the right idea with some attempts to score.

If there is an outside glimmer of hope, it is that Cook is the most defensive captain in the history of cricket. If Pak get to tea without losing a wicket, he may actually remove some attacking fielders.

and Mamoon's face? :P Syed1

If stokes is injured that means more Moeen. Please dont get overconfident or take on a deep fielder against him
