What's new

England beat Pakistan by 6 wickets in third ODI, chasing down 359 with ease

FAHeem u ...... spoiled what hasan and junaid did pathetic player really

Well said by Commy.... it was a powder puff delivery

He averages 40+ in FC cricket. Not even Shafiq and Azhar Ali have accomplished that.

He's not some kind of joke.

Ya lets go by averages because if it was that easy then anyone could become a selector. Plain and simple take it as u wish hes not international material neither a batsmen nor a bowler, worse case scenario he can stick to t20.

Can't believe we started out as foes :))

You've literally become my best friend on this forum.

You're telling me someone who has an average of 40+ with 6 tons and a top score of 207 is not a batsman?Seriously what world do you live in :))

2 easy double hundreds missed today by Imam and Bairstow. They had plenty of time to do it.

Based on what? Please elaborate.

You're literally clutching at straws.

England are a fantastic team but their cricketing strategy is boom or bust. Much like the Galactico philosophy of Real Madrid. The downside of going gung ho from ball 1 means they put themselves on the line to get bowled out for 150 as well which has happened to England in recent times.

There's no question of England not making the semifinals but I wouldn't back them to win the World Cup. They will choke under pressure in the semis or the finals big time as apart from Root they don't possess a stabilizer. They are playing with the philosophy of "if you score 380, we'll definitely score 381". Dangerous strategy because they really don't have any outstanding bowler to count on.

India on the other hand has all bases covered. A world class fast bowler coupled with two world class spinners. Plus they have the experience of winning big matches.

My two favourites are India and Australia. Fantastic bowling lineups.

This series and eventually wc might give Pakistan a reality check at least. Reforms in cricket and hockey are needed

Not sure about Australia. I’m backing New Zealand to make it to the Semi finals. They’re underrated.

If we had a proper batsman in place of Sarfraz Ahmed, who can't bat or captain, we may have gotten closer to 380.

India's top three are more dangerous than England's. Issue is England have monster batsmen coming in till numbers 7 and 8, while there is sharp drop in quality for India after top 3.

On their day I would back India to win since coupled with their batting they have a potent bowling attack as well while English attack just let Pak score 350+ twice so you can be the judge of how good they are.

I can see Sarafaraz in his last days of Captaincy. But biggest question is who will lead the team after WC?

The addition of Archer can transform their attack, and he will surely be selected after the last two ODIs. You know your bowling is weak when even Pakistan is scoring 350+.

He is seriously good and can actually be the best bowler of the World Cup. England’s attack is serviceable, but what they lack is a spearhead and Archer can be that guy. He can actually make the likes of Willey, Woakes, Stokes, Rashid etc. bowl better.

A couple of quick wickets at miserly rate in his opening spell and the whole complexion of their attack changes.

Spot on! He doesnt even think outside the box when on the field. I cant wait for this WC to be over and we can kick this clumsy "captain" out

India top 3 is very strong but like you said England have firepower throughout and have a freak in Butler in there also

Honestly it is sad that a guy of Faheem's quality is playing international cricket for Pak

I said this last year (following his success in the CT), Pakistan can only win in a high scoring contest if Fakhar fires.

When Pakistan won the CT on a batting paradise, his ton was the difference that day. Pakistan's highest run chase in T20Is (187-188 runs) came against Australia in that tri-series last year when Fakhar lead from the front with an excelled 90 odd runs knock.

Sarfraz, on the flattest pitches we've ever seen, used up 34 balls to score only 27 runs.

Indeed and those people saying hur dur hur dur the score pressure ended up being the reason Amir got wickets.

This is what may have happened if Amir didn't remove the top 3.

What it will take to kick faheem out??? How much more misery this guy will cause??

Fakhar/Imad/Babar/Imam...

Fakhar and Babar seem to be extremely introvert guys who are most likely going to be yes mans if selected.

Imam has already faced enough criticism for his selection in the team let alone captaincy.

Imad has done captaincy at domestic level and in PSL, but again we will be having a non performing captain who doesn't deserve to be in a team at first place.

This is a joke...
I’m sorry but batsmen look like superpowered heroes on these tracks and bowlers look like Second eleven club trundlers....

Shocking

Shaheen practicing his yorker in the game.. do it in nets genius if you practice then you ll see results

What a beating England team's confidence must be sky high after this, the ease with they have won is amazing.

Bowlers from both teams also bowled tons of hit me short balls down the leg side and full tosses.

Power hitting + Poor bowling.

This is what may have happened if Amir didn't remove the top 3.

Amir bowled exceptionally well on a batting paradise Oval pitch. If India had survived first 10 overs without losing more than a wicket, it could have been a completely different result.

Amir deserves full credit for utilising the new ball to full effect for the greater good of the team's fortunes. Dismissing the best top 3 in world cricket is no small matter, especially in the final.

Going into the 2009 WT20 final, Mahela was on a roll and the leading run scorer of the tournament but even a man in the form of his life, could not put bat to ball until the last ball of the over, when Amir outfoxed him with a slower bouncer. That wicket maiden in the opening over set the precedent for the rest of the match.

Amir knows how to keep calm in these high pressure games and will be sorely missed if Pakistan's management decides to exclude him.

Boys shukar karo pehle bowling nahi mili.

Izzat bach gayi :sarfraz

Imagine they chased down 358 with 5 overs to spare and last few overs they were just doing tuk tuk net practice... had they batted first 500 would have been crossed.

Yes....Yasir Shah is ready to turn into Shane Warne because he bowls leg spin just like the Aussie legend!!!

Yeah we were looking at a world record here.

Still not safe, two more matches to go :inti

6 wickets & 5 overs ... defending a total of 359 - this actually tells something else - REMIND THE GAP.

Sir Mamoon how do u see this chase of Eng. It looked either they were chasing 400 or 100. Calmness showed that it was just 100 and run rate showed that it was 400.

England have hardly broken a sweat in achieving it. That they did it with over five overs to spare is quite ridiculous in itself, and that's not even considering there was no Jos Buttler in the lineup today. Speaks volumes of their firepower with the bat.

Shaheen has been toothless. Selectors shouldn't fast track youngsters into international cricket without proper domestic cricket experience in future.
