Seems like YK brought out the lahori accent during lunch break with regards to running. They are running for everything :yk

Superb intent by PAK rn. Shadab's arrival has brought some good running and strike rotation.
 
After Shan shutting up his haters Shadab is doing the same. His energy in batting, running between wicket, fielding will act oxygen for this team. His bowling contributions will be bonus.

Agree. But the allrounder should also merit an automatic selection ideally. Fair though, because the strategy Pak have gone in with is one which if it works (conditions/execution) then they come off as geniuses. If it does not come off, they look like idiots (2 leggies etc).
 
God I would pay money to watch SK to hook Archer once for a six. Just for the theatre. But I think that’s asking too much given the ability or lack thereof.

His improvement is mostly to do with his temperament I think. In the 2018 tour he was nicking every ball outside his off stump, but today he has left the ball brilliantly and has basically pounded the bowlers into submission and into bowling freebies on his legs which he has tucked away. Whether its his 1st or 240th ball he will leave any ball in that outside off stump channel and that's why he has been so successful in this innings.
 
This a good mini partnership.

A bit risky with these singles at time as well but Shadab is surely frustrating them.

Any opener in ENG needs luck. Very harsh on Shan tbh. Have you forgotten how Broad literally humiliated Warner in the Ashes? These are superb bowling conditions with an ATG pair bowling in tandem and Shan has batted 6 hours. As good as you'll get, mate.
 
These 2 are a perfect example of why it's important for batsmen to be fit. Sometimes boundaries can be hard to come by, that's when this type of batting comes in handy.

Agreed Warner was a walking wicket against warner so credit to shan

If they get to 260 then England would be sweating. 300 and they would start bricking
 
This is why I've been saying Shadab is a must in the test side, his batting along with his fielding and the bonus of legspin is too good to not be in the side.

Actually it’s not just that. If you are watching a 15 min highlight package don’t think you’d see any “well left” deliveries. The leaves/knowing where his off-stump is, is the reason he’s faced this many deliveries.
 
I feel that just like Shoaib Malik, Shadab has realized that his future in the team lies in him becoming a full time batter because his bowling is garbage.

Shahdab should definitely play in all test matches for Pakistan from now on, either as a sole spinner in SENA or part of 2 spinners in asia etc.

With that Shan Masood has cemented his place for another 1-2 years :))
 
Well deserved century for Shan after he missed his shot in South Africa and Australia tours.
 
Now he needs to carry on... very often our bats get out soon after a ton

Well played shan, just goes to show you can always improve as a player.
 
Excellent application from Shan in alien conditions. 2016 shan would've been out atleast 10 times when broad was bowling those 5th stump lines from round the wicket. To learn from those errors in 2016 and correcting your technique and application is worthy of high praise. Now needs to concentrate further. Can't get out now.
 
Magnificent, well done lad. First PAK Test opener to score a hundred in ENG since Saeed Anwar.
 
That's a better hundred than Pallekele. Faced a better attack.

Great innings. It's really amazing to see him now when you compare the Shan of 2016 tour to England.

Well played Shan, got lucky at the start but hang on to it and cashed later. Well played Shadab as well - always a better pick than prehistoric players like Fawad or Ifti.

Hard work pays off, not coasting on natural talent. Fools like Umar Akmal and Nasir Jamshed should've taken note.
